Fanatec settings for GT6

Since fanatec wheels are not officially licensed by Sony, I wouldn't think so... but the G25/G27 aren't either, and they eventually got put into GT5, so ya never know!

Anyone heard if they will have a Fanatec setting in the wheel options menu on gt6?
Thx

All Fanatec wheels are recognized as Logitech G25/G27 for GT5/PS3 (they appear to use the same USB Vendor ID Logitech does), and button mapping is done via the Logitech Driving Force Pro profile in GT5.

From the Developer Interview section of the SimHQ Motorsports E3 2013 Recap: Part 1 - GranTurismo 6

When asked about supported wheels, Taku (Taku Imasaki, the North American Producer for Sony and GT6) listed off the usual suspects from Logitech and Thrustmaster. When asked about Fanatec wheels, Taku reminded us that sadly Fanatec doesn’t have an SDK, so that company’s wheels are interpreted by the game in a generic manner similar to a game pad. Fanatec wheels will work, but not as well as they could if specifically tailored to the game.

So it can probably be inferred that Fanatec wheels will work with GT6 on PS3 in similar fashion to the current arrangement they use for GT5 on PS3.

Fanatec need to sort this out. We pay too much money for our wheels for them not to have official support

Mhm actually Fanatec does have a SDK which is available for everyone who ask the support team.. at least I remember such a statement from Thomas somewhere.. With this SDK many games already got native support (iRacing, pCars, AC...)... And with this SDK programmes like Fanaleds were developed..

LOL, I guess Sony & PD never got that memo.
Seems kind of strange that the NA Sony/GT6 producer would say there is no SDK....
....given that Thomas went to E3 2013 and demoed GT6 while there, read it somewhere.

So, for Microsoft World it's pay at the gate or no entry. Sony World is pay at the gate, unless you can successfully impersonate another paying customer. I have no idea of what sort of admission fee we are talking about here, but I think that PS3 owners can be justifiably annoyed that Fanatec has not coughed up the dough that would enable direct support. One could argue that it should be free to enter, but meanwhile the reality for Fanatec owners is that they are getting a less tailored experience on PS3.

Quite a cognisant response and one I must agree with. Right or wrong, it is in fact how things would seem both now and likely preceding as well. Fanatec wheels have some very specific abilities that if catered to and well, "pushed", would help them stand alone on the PC and Xbox360. Unfortunately, they have gone in another direction. It makes someone like myself wonder... What if? Broad? Yes... That is my point.

According to this post by the CEO of Fanatec made January 26, 2013 on the Logitech in financial trouble. "Discontinue... console peripherals" thread:

You know that we sold a 7 digit number of wheels so far and have been in the wheel business years before Logitech ever made a wheel?

7 digits = at least 1,000,000 wheels, thats lots of wheels...

GT6 is coming to the PS3.

Agreed but its my bad as I was referring to something else.

For me, I was about to get the latest Fanatec shifter and possibly even the Clubsport Wheel. But given how soon GT6 and Ps4 (two different things) that will come out soon, I will simply wait.

I currently have the GT3 Fanatec set + shifters + CSP and will use that until I have more information.

Just not worth risking ~$1000AUD....

.... and quite awkward and cringe worthy when coupled with talk about why they have not paid the fee.

Because they haven't had to. Since the PS2 and PS3 used a very standard FFB language they have been able to use the same one Logitech uses.

When was Fanatec founded BTW? I don't recall seeing Fanatec wheels until the Speedster series hit XBOX and PS2, but the FAQ mentions they made PS1 wheels!
