mhh its not verry syncronic or?
but the SC430 and the WRC sounds good

Awesome Job! Wow that is really cool. Maybe you should get a job at PD to fix these sounds for real. That would be awesome!

I think some one here in GTP made them .I really Hope PD improve their Sound Engines ,I mean they know how The LFA is unbelivably Spot on

Agreed. 👍 PD's sounds are just a little too filtered and boring. I especially love the vibration in the arta NSX

For those wondering, Spyker88 is GTP user RACECAR, known him for a while, he's gotten fairly good at video editing :)

The WRC car sounds cool. :)

I watched the WRC one and its worse than what we have now, there was a Impreza playing over footage of a Suzuki. Also this is just recordings over the top of gameplay, PD can't do that since the amount of different sounds they'll make so they have to digitally recreate them and they've done a bloody good job on over 1000 cars imo.

I know who does them, he is a GTP member (not me though)

More than fix the general quality of the sounds(which are pretty good actually), they need to match the correct "engine type sound" to some cars. They´ve done it in the majority, since most old GT4 that had an incorrect sound, have been fixed or improved in GT5, which proves that PD has worked hard on it. Also, they need to fix that archaic system they´ve been carrying around since the 90´s in which you change the exhaust, and in most of the cases, it sounds like you did an engine swap. (Example, a random V8 car gets an exhaust upgrade, and suddenly it sounds like a 6 cylinder...)

About the LFA, it looks like they really tried in this case. Specially because it´s a car that it´s mostly known by its sound. It sounds nice and realistic at low and mid revs, but to be honest, it´s kind of overdone and artifitial at high revs... PD has done a good job with other cars, though.

Old videos made by GTP member RACECAR (as previously stated). He made a thread for them. A quick search (searched: fanmade sound) brings up his thread here.

Those sound AMAZING! I like the Tom's SC430 and Arta NSX :)

That's RACECAR? Then hats off to RACECAR! :D 👍

Eh, to me these clips prove how well done the sound editing/designing is in GT5. If the cars actually sounded like these... I'd be pretty disappointed.

Get him to respond here then. :p

Why?

Someone tell this guy to make a video with the fixed sound of the Sauber Merc... that would be epic :)

Do you realise how difficult it would be to try match up the sounds from real cars, to that of game footage?

It (i'm guessing) was done to give an idea of what the cars should be sounding like, not to an exact degree i wouldn't think.

So job well done in that respect.

We need Thinlane T (well known as a sound modder at GTR2) at PD!

Actually I'd have a hard time putting the game down if these were the engine sound effects in the game.

The GT500 cars sounded delicious.

I'd say GT5 has the best expression of sound currently available (when it comes to interior, exhaust, front, rear etc).

But the sound samples used are totally wrong in some cases :yuck:

This shows what PD can do with the correct samples:

I'd definitely drive some cars more often if they sounded better in-game (Enzo and Murciélago are the obvious ones) :(

PD needs to realize how important sound is for the game, they've improved, but there's still a lot of work to do...

I got inspired by this thread and edited a video of my favourite car from the game: BMW M3 CSL. For driver view I used premium M3. I think sounds are little isolated somehow and you can clearly tell that video and audio doesnt't belong together. Hope you like it though.

These videos are all quite pointless because they're just blending a real recording and the game. That's obviously not how game audio is created, if it were that easy every game would sound perfect. Recording the complete range of an engine and then processing those sounds so you can actually rev the engine yourself is a totally different situation and one that PD don't seem to excel at.

No. Processing the individual sounds to be in concert with our inputs is not PD's problem. It's overlaying the top-end of the engine and the transmission whine to be more dominant than the beautiful exhaust notes and intake howls.

They have the sounds, but as zedextreme8177 said above: They are not blended proportionally.

PD needs to put the right sound samples on top, and lower the vacuum-like samples to about 1/4 of their current volume.

.

These videos are FAR from pointless. They are music to a racing fan's ears!

Absolutely, the point of these videos is to give a general idea of how these cars should sound in-game, NOT that the sounds should be made by overlaying the acceleration and dowshift recordings of the cars.

As I've said before, in most of the cases, the samples are horribly wrong, though a very small amount (Like the Corvette I posted earlier) have it correct.

I love how 'dirty' they sound. Every car in GT5 sounds too clean. I nearly came when I heard that Arta NSX. I know its a crappy overlay and I know its impossible. but. i still drooled over it

You think so? This sounds came straight out of this mod for rFactor, made by 100% amateurs in their own time, ohh and anyone can get it for FREE!!! Check them out, http://www.enduracers.com/ if this guys can do it sure as hell PD can!

Although they sound good I will take it serious when the makers of these get the sounds to match up with the rpm counters on the wheels. Kind of looses the immersion factor when the sound downshifts 2 times but the rpms go up.
