Lots of cars I hadn't considered. As much as I dislike "Fords" a "Fantasy '05 Mustang" would have been a Super matchup for the Camaro Race Car!

@ Chris Criswell: Yep, a BMW Z8 "LM" would have been direct competiton for the Honda S2000 "Touring Car!" đź‘Ť ...O.G. :D

I'd like to see the Aussie cars turned in to racers. I know we can't have the V8Supercars as the licence for this is held by Codemasters (for RACE DRIVER) but LM models would be great.

Another idea would be to get some of the 70's and 80's cars turned into LM racers based around the styling of that era.

Off-topic: I've noticed that some of the fantasy racers that are already in have paint schemes to comemerate historic race cars. Can someone tell me which historic race cars the fantasy racers' paint jobs comemerate?
 
Any of the Lola race cars, the Maseratti birdcarge, of course Ferrari's and Porsche's, Cadillac CTS street and GT version, Audi RS6 race car, oh, and WHAT ABOUT A FREAKIN Z06 with the correct horsepower? 385hp was for the first year C5 Z06, which also had some other shortcomings. The Z06 that everyone talks about has 405hp, along with other differences that are ment for another post. The C6 corvettes, the Bugatti Veyron would've been interesting, Mustang GT race car, the Corvette Sledgehammer, Saleen S7R, Aston Martin DB9 LM. Do you get the picture.
Obviously I like american cars, but everyone thinks of the good ole days of high horsepower V8's. But those days are nothing compared to today. Horsepower numbers are always being challenged by some insane car like a turbocharged Saleen S7, or a Turbocharged SL65, or a Corvette and an M5 with 500. **** a stock Mustang GT has 300. The horsepower wars are upon us and we all get to beneift from it!

Although this has been mentioned ad nauseum, it bears repeating again : Ferarri, Porsche, & maybe Lamborghini. I`ve seen Porsches & Ferarris in other games, so ya can`t tell me it`s not possible. Hey PD, pay the effin` licensing fees & stop dicking around.

Ferrari probably doesn't want their 180,000 Modena getting whooped around by 50 different Skyline's, NSX's, and Supra's. Or by some car that costs half the price.

First things first... Live4Speed, you're the freaking man, man! Nice list!

Don't get a brother started on rice (in terms of "all show, no go," not the rice you eat (I prefer dirty rice, personally)). Since getting into cars in 1998, I've kind of wondered what it was like to turn the dullest machine into something that shines. If it is one type of race car I like, it is either a GT race car, or a GTP or LMP race car. But some race cars aren't that flamboyant. For example, my B-Spec counterpart is doing racing around El Capitan in one of the coolest cars I've unlocked, the 1963 Chevrolet Corvette ZO6 (C2) Race Car. I think this car is cool for a few reasons. First of all, if you love American cars, the roar of the engine is pretty sick. I do like the Sting Ray, so its design is pretty nice. Very few race cars around its time had rear wings. The only exceptions would have been those glorious Formula One race cars of the 1960s, like those of you who play "Grand Prix Legends" with the 1967 machinery.

I'm not the "rice" type, but sometimes, I can imagine if a race shop took a car and made it unreal-looking. Let's use the Honda S2000 LM Race Car for example. When you spend that 450K credits on it, you begin to wonder how it looks apart from its streetcar counterpart. At first, I thought it was a Mercedes-Benz with that four light cluster between the headlights. Since it has Le Mans blood in it, you're going to need good aerodynamics, some extra lights, and good HP and handling. I know the S2000 raced Nurburgring Nordschliefe last year, but this rendition looks like a pretty real race car and can back it up with better performance over its streetcar. When you imagine race car and can prove it isn't a wild imagination, you know you have something cool.
 
Please don't complain about ferrari, lamborgini and porsche. No one here knows 100% what happened there (plus this isnt the right thread for that). The best indication is that ea holds exclusive rights and pd didn't want to pay to one of the biggest game manufacturors.

Liveforspeed- The jgtc impreza is a gt300 car and it is in GT4(from the best of my memory). Its the cuzco impreza.

I would like to see a lm or dream car version of the tvr speed six. I think the aussies should also get a lm car and the monaro is a great candidate. There should also be an lm of the dodge ram srt-10, just for laughs.
 
For those wanting a Monaro LM or a DBR9, just buy a Monaro, DB9 (or any other car for that matter), buy the upgrades and improve the engine to get to the required horsepower, make sure you lighten the car, buy the correct looking wheels and spoiler kit and there you have it. I'm sure most of you have done this already but for those who haven't, it's as close as we are going to get until GT5. Make sure you spend the time to set the cars up properly. You will be rewarded in the end with a car as fast as the other GTS type cars. I used the black five spoke Speedline wheels for the Monaros.
 
That's the Holden that kept winning Bathurst 24 Hour races? The Holden Monaro? I have bought some cars, but primarily as project cars and tuners. I'm kind of enjoying the mods I did to my Toyota Tacoma. With a little more work, it can be pretty fun to race with. And to give you an idea about how light it can be, I reduced the weight all the way down to a Customary equivalent of 3,086 lbs. That's not bad for a truck. I'd still want to mod out my FPV GT and make it a big Australian beast. I love these Australian cars. If GT5 includes Utes, I'd sure like to race them, maybe even make my own Brute Ute racer. It is a bit of a shame that with the Ford Falcon V8 Supercar, there's no Holden Commodore V8 Supercar. I think if you wanted to include at least one V8 Supercar for the two Australian makes, it would have to be the Ford Credit one already featured, the Holden Racing Team Commodore, Craig Lowndes' lovely black and silver Ford Falcon, or perhaps even the Shell Helix Ford Falcon. But even if that's not possible, a generic original paintscheme isn't bad.
 
I gave my SS Commodore the Touring Car makeover. White car with the white wing, black wheels and just over 600 hp.
Another fantasy car i'd like to see is the Mosler. Martin Short bought one to Bathurst in 2002 and again in 2003 and I loved that car.

hey, yeah i agree, i think it would be cool to have heaps more 'fantasy' cars. maybe for some of the lesser known production companies.
 
OK, OK...I KNOW this is a "Shameless Bump" of a thread Dead for over two months. But it's Summer (in the Northern Hemisphere anyway) & kinda SLOW around here. Perhaps some of the new members would enjoy browsing thru it & adding ideas of their own! :)

Now that I've nearly completed the game I've a couple of more suggestions:

How 'bout a "Slammed" Team Oreca CROSSFIRE W/Viper Motivation or a similar PT Cruiser??? (Can you tell I'm a MOPAR Fan?) Have Fun...O.G. :D
 
I like most of the list "Live4Speed" made.
Only a few of those were cars I didn't care for (the renault escape f1 :yuck: ).

Some of the cars I would like to see though...

First off, I would really like to get a RUF LM for both the 3400s and the RGT.
The BTR and YellowBird could both make good LM cars as well, but asking for an LM of each RUF is a bit much? :indiff:

In that case, LM versions of every RUF.

We could also use some lotus race cars. đź‘Ť
Venture should have made a come-back.
TVR should have LM versions of the tuscan & cerbera.

Panoz should have their GTS competitor in the field.
Aston Martin should have their DB-R9 in the races.
Spyker has a nice LM participant that could be in the game.

The original Mini Coopers should be in there so they could race the Autobianchi and Puegot 106.

The RUF CTR2 Sport (the wide one from GT2) is a car I miss in GT4.
Miss the Cerbera 4.5 aswell.
I also greatly loved the Suzuki Cultus (More so than the Escudo) and the R33 GT500 cars.
Also, the Mitsubishi Evo V Rally car and the Toyota Celica Rally car (based on the final Celica).
I also miss the MR2 Cabriolet (based on the '97 MR2 G-Limited). It was so much fun to drive.

Ah, the Mercedes W125. The statistics speak for themselves. This was the most powerful racecar in history until the Can-Ams came along. With over 630 HP, wheel spin could be heard from 4th gear down. A beast in an age of giants. :cool:

As much as I LOVE the Pre-War racers & miss having all the Lambos, we're SUPPOSED to be discussing FANTASY Versions of cars already IN GT4. :trouble: There are already PLENTY of "Wish List" threads floating around! :) ...O.G. :D
 
The modern Ford GT LM spec II car would've been a lot more realistic, had they included a front air dam/spliter to the front end. As is, I would imagine it would produce plenty of lift in the front end.

I know they don't have any "Porsche" cars, RUF sorta fills the gap. However, it would be nice if they included some BECK porsche replicas. Like the old 356 Speedsters, or even better, the 550 Spyder the James Dean drove to his death. I figure that they could've been included in the American hall. I'd sacrifice the stupid Scion spot for some Beck cars. Speaking of Scion, what about the tC? the only cool car they make.

Fantasy versions of cars in GT4 eh? Hmmm.

Well, if GT4 had a "race body adder and remover", we could remove the streamliner body from the Auto Union C Streamline and make it a GP car instead! :lol: That way we could actually steer the beast like a real racer on the Nurburgring! :drool: :lol:

A Gulf paint scheme for the RUFs would be nice. Or how about a Martini "Moby Dick" body for the RUF CTR2? How about a Rothmans paint scheme for the RUFs?

Some of the older Alfas need to have their racing bodies. So many possibilities.
