Thanks for clearing that up T 👍.
After a quick chat with the Mrs I have a feeling she has already bought it for me. Perhaps I could snoop around and if found quickly install it and return the disc to where I found it.

Cheers Shaun.

Seems like we have a decent amount of PC gamers now out there.
How about put out your graphics settings together with you frame rate, to have some comparsion?
For example there are settings like post FX that screw up your FPS very bad.
Also, any of you guys using SLI/Crossfire having problems with tearing or micro lags?
Will share my part tonight, once I'm home ;)

AMD, Nvidia Push Out New Graphics Drivers Primed for Far Cry 3 & others.

MaximumPC
AMD - The chip designer's latest beta drivers improve performance by up 25 percent with 8xMSAA and SSAO enabled at 1600p, and up to 15 percent with 8xMSAA and HDAO enabled. A few other games receive a performance boost as a result of the 12.11 beta series, but AMD also focused on resolving a bunch of issues, including system hangs and a missing font issue in XBMC, to name just two.

Nvidia - Offers an even higher performance boost in Far Cry 3, at least for GeForce GTX 680 graphics card owners, who can expect up to a 38 percent boost. Double digit percentage gains are also found in Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 (up to 26 percent), Battlefield 3 (up to 16 percent), and Assassin's Creed III (up to 18 percent).

Thanks for posting the pics.

Rented this and had a chance to play for about an hour last night. About 45 minutes in campaign and 15 minutes in map maker. One thing is for sure, the 360 graphics look NOWHERE near as good as the pics posted above from the PC. In fact I would say FC3 might even look a little worse than FC2 graphically on the 360. The draw distance seems grainy like Sleeping Dogs on the 360. Gameplay is fun and the storyline started very good. I like how much we can loot items and skin animals in this game. Reminds me of a mix between RDR meets Skyrim with guns.

In the map maker I noticed only certain animals will attack you. Could not get the sharks to attack me on the map maker. The AI animals and enemies are restricted to around 30ish. Which is not too bad but you really need to choose them wisely.

Since I rented this I will not be able to access the co-op or multiplayer. I heard the 6 co-op levels have quite a few bugs. Currently overwhelmed and backlogged with so many other games that I am not sure if this will be a purchase for me.

Going to start my 2nd Playthrough tomorrow, Looking to 100% it with the Relics, Loot and so on.

I was thinking of the exact same thing.

I bought this game roughly a week ago now I think and just finished the main story now.

Having been brought up with video games through my childhood I did what all stupid kids did and skipped the story of the games, to instead play the games (skip cutscenes and stuff). Because of that I am not a very story driven gamer but damn, this is hands down one of the best games I have ever played. The story, setting, visuals (x360 for this), emotion, environment, absolutely everything is perfect. The animals also add such an amazing dimension. There is nothing quite like stalking some enemies or a base and then having it get taken out by a surprise tiger. Currently I am watching the credits while typing this simply because the backing soundtrack is great. This game has an absolutely fantastic soundtrack, one of the most memorable soundtracks being around 9 missions or so into the game (if you've done it you'll know what i'm on about).

Sorry that was a bit of a ramble, in more simple terms, fantastic game and a definite buy for anyone even slightly interested. I wasn't interested much at all but a mate told me to buy it and its not a regret at all. I wish the story was longer but now I guess i'm off to explore the island and unlock all the settlements :).

I am indeed enjoying the game a lot. Played for at least another hour or more last night. As I said above it reminds me of a mix between RDR and Skyrim. Especially since you have a lot of looting, can hunt animals for skins, collect plants, dynamic animals, and dynamic weather. I have taken over a couple bases, bought a sniper rifle, and expanded my carrying sack. I also can carry more money too. Even shot a caged tiger and allowed it to attack everyone at a checkpoint so I didnt have to do any dirty work. haha I always love looting so its very hard for me to stay focused in games like this. Ohhhh there is a plant I need, oohhh a box to loot, oh an animal to kill to increase my wallet size, oohh enemies to level up.......Oh a tower for another fast travel location. lol

I did find out something quite disappointing. YOu are not able to publish any of your maps if you have ANY AI at all. So you cant make a map with animals or human AI then go online with that map for others to check out. Thats actually quite disappointing IMO for the map maker.

I too am really enjoying this game. Also reminds me of RDR and Skyrim, plus to some extent Just Cause 2, but that might just be because of the scenery and cars and stuff.
I'm not very far into the story yet, I have only just found Daisy. So far I've just been exploring the island and activating radio towers, which is good fun :D

Lots and lots of hours of gameplay to be had, and I intend to really get my moneys worth with this game.

Also how do I unlock more weapon slots?

Exactly! I'm trying not to hit the main story too hard yet. Just taking towers and camps, skinning animals, upgrading stuff, leveling, hunting, treasures, relics. Even hit a few side quests and challenges. Don't forget the bounty boards to. So much to do.

Probably the most surprising and unexpected detail in the game is bailing out of a moving vehicle. The animation is great. It's a small detail but something I haven't experienced in other games yet. :)

I will have to check out the "bailing out of a moving vehicle" animation. Well I did bail out of the hand glider by accident on my first try while trying to get near a tower.

 I was sat watching two jeeps that had stopped in the road, and all 4 guys had got out, I was trying to work out the best order in which to kill them.
And I hear the engine of a third jeep driving along, but the driver aint stopping for **** and runs over 2 of his buddies, then for some reason reverses and runs over a 3rd who had run over to help his friends

Something similar happened to me... I rammed a jeep(red tshirt), then the guy instead of killing me ,he decided to wreck my jeep (demolition derby style)....Then my buddies AI came to help me and both of them started to play demolition derby.

At some point my friends AI jeep rollover, then the guy(red tshirt) reverses for 3 car length, accelerate and runs over everybody.

I wish I had recorded this , it was hilarious.

Great stuff. lol

I forgot to throw in that FC3 also reminds me of Just Cause 2 the way you go from area to area and take it over. Then it because a fast travel. Plus the enemies all wear red too. A mix of several great sandbox games all in one.

The only really funny thing that happened to me was when I was trying to hit a deer with a car, I missed the deer, flew off a cliff to an explosive death filled with fail. ahha

While capturing an outpost last night, I opened a cage of rabid dogs to aid me in my assault. The dogs and all the pirates are fighting each other, but the melee slowly moves out of the outpost and into a field across the street. One of the bad guys throws a molotov at a dog, and a brush fire starts. The fire spreads and pins all of the outpost AI and dogs back against a cliff with no way out, and they all burn alive.

Meanwhile I'm standing in the middle of the outpost, unopposed, watching it all unfold.

Damn, that description actually makes me want this game...

Had a similar experience where a tiger made short order of a camp of pirates. Made capturing the flag very easy. :)

How have you guys been killing sharks for the skins? I discovered my favorite way is to run them over with the little Wave Runner.

Yes, loving this game.

That last part reminds me of when I tried to dodge an oncoming car on a cliffside road. I ended up going up the right side of the cliff, flipping and then rolling all the way down to the bottom where a whole bunch of other wrecked cars were. I found that was pretty cool considering I came to the same demise.

On the note of free DLC or just DLC in general (should have bought it for PS3, I have all three platforms :ouch:), will there be story DLC? This game presents a really great opportunity to expand on the single player and that would be absolutely amazing.

Find a vessel, Go to a shark icon on the map. Use a hunters instinct syringe. Shoot all the shark's: )

Now this is why I don't get some people's dislike for FC2 - it had loads of stuff like that in it. The mercs actually interacted with each other in sometimes bizzare ways - they'd get themselves in a right pickle with their own molotovs and grenades.

There were also a lot of very funny conversations being held amongst them if you approached an outpost or camp without them seeing you. FC3 seems to have all of that and wild animals too, so I'm happy.

I don't know why anyone would complain about it to be honest.

But I do want some tarmac :grumpy: Just one tarmac road going from East to West, it would naturally be awash with baddies and it would be really fun to sit on a hill overlooking the road and pick the odd one off with a silenced sniper rifle and enjoy watching the chaos ensue.
Plus it would be really nice to drive on one rather than dirt all of the time.

I swear that half the enemies I've combated so far have been on fire while doing so. Some people just can't be trusted with molotovs.

I came across one camp I was about to liberate, but a couple of cassowaries ended up doing all the killing instead. Vicious bastards.

I just took the RHIB, either using the mounted machine gun or Recurve Bow (which I had to use to kill the Maneater earlier anyway).

This game is so addictive.
It's always like ... OK, one more outpost ... OK, one more hunter mission ... OK, only this relic. And without any story mission, two hours passed like nothing.
Looking forward to try out the Coop campaign.

I've just been all over since getting the game, but I've finally unlocked the F2000 for free but I've yet to use it - still too busy goofing off.
