Tokyo drift was an exception were all cars were built buy Veilside including the rwd Evo, wide body 350, 350TT and Nsx wide body on top of the money shot Rx7 triple rotor.

Being a car film, most of the budget goes on the cast (and there cars) so bigger budget equals more wrecks (fast five) and more cars (fast six). Fast six still used pretty rare cars but made tham look rarer like that mustang suited to look like a shelby and the daytona which was still a charger. All top of the hyper cars in certain clips.

The Evo in TD was built by Rhys Millen Racing and was mainly used to advertise their new RWD conversion package. The bodykit was from APR. Video of them testing it out:

The Mustang in 6 was a replica of the Anvil Auto Mustang: http://www.hotrod.com/featuredvehicles/hrdp_1106_1969_ford_mustang/viewall.html

Also there's the issue that started in the last movie, which is very much faulty physics (CG).
FF movies have never been accurate representations of physics/driving/anything they were about.

It's surprising that anyone goes to see most of the crap coming out of Hollywood, especially when most of it is an obvious ploy to avoid creating new content while still raking in the dollars. FF is one of the more egregious examples of this with more than a half dozen versions of essentially the same product put in different packaging and sold as "all new" for full retail price. Sounds like a blatant rip-off to me. If I want to see Beetles dressed up as super-cars and then crashed/burned........I will tune into Top Gear.

But as I said, to each his own. Those Hollywood execs gotta get their money from somebody!

You seem set on your ideas on Hollywood, so I'll have to agree to disagree with you on all that, but good luck to you.

@Youngun what mustang in FF6?

Actually it was more about how the FF movies are offensive to car lovers, I was just trying not to be too blatant about my trolling.

It's not so much that you can't have a R34 in the U.S., but that you have to pay some heavy taxes and fees to import them over top the sale price, and that is hard to justify for a movie. Like most things in movie, it doesn't have to be real just look the part.

Sorry, couldn't remember all. I remember the APR (like one in GT5/6). Thought it was VS but there more coupe kit company back then.

New the Mustang was a rep of something but couldnt be bothered to check :p

Thought the R32/34 GTRs were illegal in the states?

Yeah, VS doesn't tend to make widebodies for anything other than coupes; then again, they did do a one-off kit for the STI hatch in the 4th movie, which, even to this day, still hasn't been sold to the public.

Like you said in your first post, that blue Bensopra GT-R would be amazing to see in game. Shame it didn't win a SEMA award otherwise it could have been included. Yeah, it's another GT-R, but it's one that I think would be worth it. :dopey:

What about the Yenko, was it a Real Yenko or was that a kit car. Those cars are RARE. I hope they didn't take a real 1969 Camaro and jump it, even if it wasn't a true Yenko.

That is the dumbest thing I've seen you write in this thread, and that's saying something seeing as everything you've said so far has just been ignorance fueled drivel.

Merry Christmas!

None of them were real Yenkos, but the one that crashed into the boat was an actual '69 Camaro; they got a rusty, beaten up, non-running 6-cylinder model, gave it a quick sanding down, painted it to match the movie car and then launched it into the boat using a cannon.

I know what you were doing hence why I kept pressing you. Also you're talking to car lovers here, I guess every car movie in history is offensive to car lovers. I say this because I can't think of one of them where a valued rare car isn't destroyed.

I will say this. Tuning and aftermarket manufacturer owe everything to two things. Need for Speed and Fast and Furious, without these, 1000hp GTRs, massive spec Supras and even Formula D wouldn't be as big.

:nervous: WHYYYYYYYYYYYY!

What about the Corvette Grand Sport that they jumped off of the cliff in 5.

It depends on the state as to whether or not you can get it titled, you may have to apply for a special title hence the fees and taxes. Some years back I saw a R32 with New York tags in a mall parking lot, I live in Maryland by the by so they aren't illegal to own they are only available through grey market channels.

I forgot that one, another rep i believe and the GT40 was a kit car. Not sure on the Detomaso though.

I remember reading somewhere that they bought most of the R34s for Fast 4 in Japan. Took out the engine and sent it all separately, built them again in the US and registered them as Kit Cars lol, apparently the government weren't to happy with the production team for bending the rules

Don't forget the Motorex company. They managed to get R32s, 33s and 34s legalised in America for a while before the owners failed to keep paperwork on certain imported cars up to check and they got shut down. A few of the cars will bad paperwork were seized later on, years after Motorex was closed; the yellow R33 from the first F&F is one of the most famous examples. Other than that, there's still a few Motorex Skylines out on the road, like this one:

From what I know, only 14 of the Motorex fully-legalised R34s are still around.

Not ignorant, just a difference of opinion. I don't have to like what you like and you don't have to like what I like. The only dumb thing I did was harass people on an internet forum about a series of movies, but I knew what I was getting into and never said any of it with hatred nor called anybody names. I'm just bored at work and figured I'd chime in to represent the portion of this forum that strongly dislikes these movies and the bad reputation they give to "car guys".

I know what you were doing hence why I kept pressing you. Also you're talking to car lovers here, I guess every car movie in history is offensive to car lovers. I say this because I can't think of one of them where a valued rare car isn't destroyed.

I don't believe I ever said anything about being offended by cars being destroyed. I'm offended by Fast and Furious movies but not because they destroy cars. In fact, if you scroll through this thread you'll see most of the reasons why I dislike these movies (fake cars, inaccurate representations of cars, fake "physics", over-the-top-and-impossible stunts, mostly CGI cars and car scenes, jr. high drama and the implication that all "car guys" are meat-head street racers who love to put wingz and flamez and nitrous on their cars). One of my all-time favorite shows is the Dukes of Hazzard which is single-handidly responsible for destroying most of the models of my all-time favorite muscle-car, yet that show doesn't offend me in the slightest. And neither do Daisy Duke's shorts!!!

My Xmas gift to you all, enjoy!

USA are idiots for not letting the R34 and R32 GTRs in the country. Yeh must if not all were GTTs and GTS' kitted to look like GTRs, most were real cars built in large numbers with wreck cars built on crap parts. Real ones have been sold off.

Tokyo drift was an exception were all cars were built buy Veilside including the rwd Evo, wide body 350, 350TT and Nsx wide body on top of the money shot Rx7 triple rotor.

My fav was from the last clip, Ben Sopra GTR which was a static proper but Still REAL

Just to set this straight. Any car that can't be considered a classic (25 years or older) is very hard to get into the states. This isn't just bcause of taxes, regestration, or transporting or any of that. It is because we have far stricter safety standards. All the glass needs to be replaced. The A and B pillars need to be strengthened to meet American standards, and the engine needs to be reworked (ECU, intake, exhaust) to meet federal emmission standards. Those factors are generally the most expensive and prohibitive. On top of it, the work must be done by a shop that is federally licensed to do those modifications to a car. Not any shop is allowed to do this.
Now if the cars is 25 years or older, than all you need to do is pay to have the car shipped to America, then register it.

I don't have to like what you like and you don't have to like what I like.
Do you see the problem here? You came in here only for the purpose of putting down anyone who enjoys FF movies.
No one went to your threads to ridicule any of your opinions.

Well considering what a true car enthusiast is, it seems logical to be upset when these movies destroy a rare car that you know the history of and such. I don't see any other aspect that would upset the car community especially when the genre of passion they have is being given its importance.

I'm offended by Fast and Furious movies but not because they destroy cars. First off FF movies only had one movie really that was about the whole ricer/tuner crap and that was because at the time the tuner scene was very much all about giant wings, vinyl graphics and under glows, I guess 2 could also be said to be somewhat like that as well. However, after that each one onward wasn't like that at all obviously and for someone who hasn't watched them as you've said, not sure why you think you can make a broad statement on something you have no knowledge on. There are no inaccurate representations of cars they are kits because they are cheaper and get around U.S. regulation. However all the hero cars in the movie have been the real thing, to restore them and then destroy them at full showroom specs would be a massive waste of money. CGI is just Hollywood not sure what to tell you on that, it isn't as bad as it once was 2 was the peak of too much CGI.

It doesn't offend you because of what seems to be a high nationalism you have and it gives off in that show. You seem to come off as a 'Murica type person.

And this ^. Still kills me that Bradon claims he never saw these movies but decides to speak on it as if some knowledge source after reading a few post. Speaks volumes for many on GTP.

Thought Skyline were legal at some point before they turned and said no? And for Emission, i believe us brits have it worse. If you want a power which may come with high co2 then you have to pay an arm and a leg. Pushing electric and hybrid every year. And safety standards are second to none on Ncap rating. But we can have them in UK no probs, and some big tuned one including an ex Top Secret Demo car on sale here.

Is this still part of the trolling or do these people really exist? They can't seriously consider themselves to be real car enthusiasts?
The day I go back to disliking and dismissing another car guy's preferences, is the day I admit I'm no longer a car guy.
Seems you should've done that a while ago.

No they weren't legal and the only reason R33s are legal is because a company like Motrex and Kaizo tricked the DOT and EPA test to get them approved. The others were never approved in the Grey Car list and probably never will be. Even with the 25 year rule I doubt you'll see any that are registered legally outside of the Kit car category.

Wow! what did I ended up doing??? I was just looking to see if the cars from ff6 were avilable in GT6 , and then, BOOM!! we get alot of crticism on all 6 movies.

I can cleary see that some people are not really enjoying the FF series, and they have their right to complain.

On the other hand, despite the fact that it is a movie and a movie is a movie, where real life is not supposed to be represented, or depcted like we live IRL, they have the right to put some effects like blurry backgrounds when Nitro is kicked and all. That's movie c**p. Obviously IRL the cars wouldn't react the same way they are in the movie, and if it is available in game, I expet it not to react like its counterpart does in FF.

Now I was just looking for a way to get some exotic cars in my garage. and I thought that FF was a way to look at some cars that usually do not look at, save for the GT-Rs and R34s, which I have in my garage already.

I thought it was the R32 that was crash tested and legal while r33/r34 tests were falsified?

The r32 model was even commercialized in North america if I am not mistaken , I have seen some left hand drive models.
