Well, no reason to see the movie now that you've pretty much summarized the plot. :dopey:

I can't wait to see cool high-school kids trying to drift in the parking lot of the movie theater after a late-night showing

good thing drifting is very stressfull on cars.. they will kill off their cars quickly :D

If the concept of the movie was more about real racing & stuff, it wouldn't sell.

I made plenty of grip run with some intelligent tactic passing video. They're the less watched from the bunch. Drift video are the most popular. The more the car go sideway in whatever place, as long as you're seeing the car in all angle, it view.:sly:

Something I would like to see, it's the highest rate spun after a movie ever made in the world & goes in the Guiness Record!

Who said they had FnF and 2F2F in their collection just for the car scenes? Having (ashamedly) watched both, I couldn't find much decent car action in either... Oh... the highway "audition" where the smashed the muscle car was funny (2F2F), but that was about it.

I've got Ronin, Gone in 60 Seconds (just for the Shelby scene), the original Italian Job (just for the opening scene with the Miura in it) and the second Bourne on my pick...

PERFECT BALANCE
This is when stupid "gangstas" in my school start to think they know something about drifting. Thats what happened when the first FnF came out, a bunch of people started to think they knew something about cars, I'm still having to prove somebody wrong every day at school.

I hate the FnF series, it just makes me mad how they let this stupidity spread about such a great sport.

"The tires are slicker" WTF!?!?! If having the least amount of grip was the point of drifting, wouldn't every body be running minivan tires on their drift cars?
Exactly. Just like that idiot (SENIORS GRRR!!!!!!) who said fuel cells get '200 mpg', but suck because they will 'flood the world with water vapor emissions'. (BLEEP!!!!!)ing IDIOT!!!!!!!!!
I like the series for the action and races, but without that its nothing. And yes. I really want to drift somewere full of concrete poles.
And the cars only have like 400 hp! What the hell! An RS6 Wagon could smoke them! AND take 4 people for the ride! Along with the week's groceries!

That is a heavy car, you always have to watch the hp/weight ratio. So no, you usually won't beat japanese 400 hp cars with an RS6, especially not on narrow roads.

I'll see it. In the theatres, too. I'll probably buy the dvd, too. Hopefully it wont be a total waste.

Guess who seems to be in FF3 : Tokyo Drift ?
Yeah indeed he is. At least if this is true :

Some might consider this as a spoiler, but let's face it, if it is true, many people will soon talk about it, so.... I wouldn't call it a spoiler.... there is nothing about the story, just about the appearance of a certain actor....

EDIT : OH BE CAREFUL, there is indeed a spoiler(INVISOTEXT), make sure to not mark the text, just hit the links to the pics !!!

Reminds me of a line that Ludacris says in a song "...I just jumped in that movie to get a bigass check."

Ok, I was exaggerating. But an M5 could smoke them.
Anyway, I could smoke them in a Daihatsu Midget. :D

for all those still hesitant whether to see the movie - it's worth it. i personally liked it best of all the fast&furious till now. a drifting galore, and overall less CG and more actual stunts. the story is as cheesy as the rest of the series (in case you expected any). this flick definitely gets my recommendation.

ed: oops, i knew something did not look right in this title. thanks, MdnIte

I watched the movie tonight, and surprisingly, it's not as bad as you may think. It's pretty cool, a lot of good scenes, and they actually added (or tried) some "sadness" to the film.

Much better than the 1st 2 (surprisingly, since the 1st was ok), and even the storyline wasn't that bad since I've so much worse. A lot of the drift scenes are pretty cool, and there's plenty of damage done to keep the rice haters happy. In fact, our character destroys a pretty well known Japanese car.
*SPOILER*

In typical F&F tradition, American cars get pulverized, though the end is worth it as one actually wins, and the ending credits is a face off of two. Bow Wow isn't as bad as I thought he was, though his car is still strange. And a lot of the trailer scenes didn't seem to appear in the movie, nor Bow Wow's little definition.

And as for the RB in the Fastback, you have to watch the movie to see why it was put in. It wasn't just for preparing the stunts. There's also a lot of Formula D appearences, including the cars and the drivers.

Integra, you should be happy to know he at least drives something unlike Ludacris, and his ride should be familar with those who watched the first. I know many are going to read this and think the Black Charger. No, think deeper.

It's not a bad movie at all. Much worse can be seen, and it's good for car lovers to enjoy.

good movie. it tops the f&f series definately. makes me wanna get back into the drifting scene again, possibly take a year hiatus to live in tokyo so i could push a career in import auto journalism.

I must say that this movie is the best of the series however yes it is cheesy with cliche lines, but at least none of the lines were as bad as "you can have any beer you want as long as its a corona" i still laugh when i hear that line. The cars were amazing and I believe there was more comedy in this than any other. My favorite part had to be in the beginning when he raced the great white hope from home improvement in a 72 chevelle against daddys viper.

They didn't do so well. On that one part when...that guy dies, everyone in the theatre started laughing. :boggled:
I don't know what's worse, then. The trying or the laughing.

I didn't find it tragic, but I was more like, "D*mn, that sucks."

i found it interesting that the drivers for this movie were american drift champs, makes you wonder how much support, if any, this movie had from the true japanese drifting community

I dunno if I wanted to watch something with good driving in it i'd probably just go watch some motorsports or some topgear/5thgear/bestmotoring/option stuff. Then if I wanted to watch something with asian titties in it i'd probably go watch some porn I suppose.

Well, last night I drank too much while out with my friends and since the bar is in the same shopping center as the theater I went there to sober up. FF: Tokyo Drift started in five minutes and any other movie was going to be at least a 45 minute wait.

I don't know whether it was the inebriation or the movie but I walked out thinking it was pretty good. I was shocked. I was expecting something horrible and in the end found myself very happy. The racing scenes were all done well and the cheesy lines were kept to a minimum. Not to say there weren't a few cheesy moments, it is a key part of the series after all. It also helped that it featured my all-time favorite classic muscle car.

I think that the key to this was that it dropped the undercover cop storyline and just focused on the underground racing element. It showed the racers and their dedication without distracting us with a side cop story. Someone finally realized that this wasn't a cop movie but a car/racing movie.

If the other movies were like this they would have been great. Unfortunately they have ruined the name so much by this point I don't think they will attract a large enough audience to get any decent recognition.

Overall if you are looking for a strong plot and in-depth character development don't bother. I can only remember three character's names. This isn't some deep thinking movie. If you want to be entertained by fun driving scenes and plenty of action then this is where you need to go.

If you really hated the oldest son from Home Improvement and want to watch him get trashed then this is a definite, well the first ten minutes anyway.

The only negative I can say is that there was some predictability. I saw the guy dying long before the story got to that part.

 I have to see this movie then.

The guy is 25 years old and he is still playing high school a-holes.
Heck, even the Beverly Hills 90210 gang quit pretending to be teenagers by that point.

It's a shame that in order to get this joy a Viper had to bite it. :(
