I dont really get why this has got the good reviews it has. Dont get me wrong, I really liked it. But its by no means better than 2Fast, its still very cheesy & Lucas Black is really bad (what accent is he suppost to have??).

The 1st movie has the best "plot" and easily the best action. The 2nd was pretty rubish, but very entertaining, and i found the childish bickery between Tyrese & Paul very funny. Tokyo is a good blend of the 2. It still had alot of CGi in it, which i was suprised at as lots of people said it didnt. The only really good car chase was the middle one where that character dies. I actually found that scene very well done, and was kinda bummed when he died.
One thing that did annoy me, at the end of the film, did the guy he was racing live?? he fell down a flippin' cliff, but we never see either way.
I think i'd give all 3 Fast & Furious films 8/10. There all good fun films. Although the 1st is easily the best.

I liked the Cameo at the end of Tokyo Drift, that was good.

PS, a group of 3 girls went "aww" when bow wow was getting beaten up at school! lol.

Tokyo Drift is good, but not as good as the first one, the first was much more enjoyable and exiting. . .

FoolKiller
The guy is 25 years old and he is still playing high school a-holes.
Heck, even the Beverly Hills 90210 gang quit pretending to be teenagers by that point.

It's a shame that in order to get this joy a Viper had to bite it. :(

I thought they were playing teens into their 30's? Well, they looked that old, anyway... :dopey:

The car isnt a 72 Chevelle. It's a Monte Carlo with a suped up motor (632ci to be specific) That's 10.3 liters for those of you who don't know what a cubic inch is (rice humor). But yeah, it's badass.

The last few seasons they were actually out of high school and in college or working. I think Aaron Spelling realized that his actors were turning 30 and just couldn't pass for teenagers any longer.

Did the film break in your showing or something?

SPOILER IF YOU HAVEN"T SEEN THE MOVIE YET.

He goes over the cliff, which was only one level above the finish line, so he drops maybe 5-10 feet and rolls. He is on his roof and you see his friends pulling him out of the car through the window and then after the girl goes back over to Sean and gets the offended look from the Uncle he walks stumbles up and is standing next to his uncle all beat up looking at the end of the scene.

Just seen it, and to be honest it isnt too bad. Some awesome drift racing and although I dont really like him, the Vin Diesel cameo was pretty cool.

Would love a 4th film to be made, the cars and babes are always nice to look at.

Pretty much my thoughts exactly 👍

I liked it.

Much nicer camera work overal, and knowing they used little (or no) CG whatsoever made it more enjoyable. Loved the camera work when they drifted through the massive crowd of hundreds of people.

Cool cars. I got the impression that they didn't overdo it as much as 2. The opening race is pretty gnarly, but i thought all 3 of them should have been carted off in an ambulance.

Great driving. Really talented people behind the wheels.

Bow Wow. Get off. Stupid car, pretty lame part.

"Our Hero". Not bad. Southern accent took some getting used to, but competes with Spilner.

Veilside Fortune Rx7 in black and orange

Getting it on DVD.

It was pretty good, well paced, tight drifting & VD pops up at the end to tye in for a fourth!

Dunno about the mustang's turbo block mating though:dopey:

I AM SO GLAD I NEVER BOUGHT THIS MOVIE OR WATCHED IT IN THE THEATERS.
Before you think I am a Fast and furious hater your wrong. I own and really like #1 and thought #2 was pretty good too. But #3 absolutely sucked IMO. The part that really frustrated me was how he practiced and won in the evo most of the movie then all of a sudden at the end. Hey lets pull out the 67 Mustang for the very last race even though he hardly practiced at all with it. Also how much of a time frame did they give him for the last race. Seems like if your challenged you would be racing right away. But no they seem to have plenty of time to put the car together and get it all painted. That was pure crap. Drifting takes much more time to learn then a couple test runs before the big race. Then the sound of the Mustang just made me want do throw up. I loved the appearance of the 67 Mustang but I was under the impression that he was going to be driving it for the majority of the movie. That would make more sense and he would have a lot of practice with it. I don't mind the fact that they put the Skyline engine in there but come on at least TRY to make it sound like a muscle car. Then the 5 second extra cheesy Vin Diesel appearance at the end was just horrible. I like Vin Diesel as an actor but that was aweful. My girlfriend and I just simply hated this movie. At least it only cost us $1.25 for the rental. 👎 👎 👎

2 words. Music montage (sp?). Anything can be done in time with one of those.

You talk about realism, then wonder why a Mustang with a Skyline engine doesn't sound like a muscle car?! Since when did a turbo I6 ever sound like a V8?! If anything, that added to what little realism the movie had IMO.

Sorry, just my 2 cents.

This is another Hollywood trash, and the plot made as much sense as the one in(I think there was one) "Bad Boys II". But you know what? It's the Fast and the Furious! :dopey:

Many members here thought that Tokyo Drift was the best, or second best in the series. I rate it at #3. It was OK for rental IMO.

What prevented me from liking that movie was the poor linguistic(right word?). Many Japanese speaking parts sounded like the actors suffered from a massive stroke prior to the shooting of the movie. And Japanese people speaking English was just as bad(which is realistic ;) ). Translation of the (real)Drift King made me roll my eyes. I think Tsuchiya said something like "countersteer's too slow", but as I recall, it was translated into something along lines of "you call that drifting?". Little stuff, I know, but these half-assed production bugs me to no end. It's not just this movie either, I hold same standard to all the movies. Good or bad. Good thing for the movie, most people won't even notice that the actors were taught foreign language by high school tutors.

As for the rest of the stuff:

Cars: I definitely didn't like them as much as I liked the cars from the first two F&F. That exotic looking RX-7 was kind of neat though.

Actors: OK. I didn't think they were that bad....... actually, Sean(main character), his dad was pretty horrible. Again, the thing that bothered me was that language. Also, Sean sounded like Forest Gump's son.

Action: Didn't do it for me. I did find the first race funny though. I think that was the best part of the movie for me. Through the climax drift race with the 'Stang, I was starting to doze off. I wished I could have slept through it. No such luck.

I think the "Tokyo Drift" is OK for rental, if you are into the F&F Series. I'd give it a very kind "C-".

It was easily the worst of the series. But i still found it entertaining.

What didn't make sense in the plot of Bad Boys 2?

I saw Toky Drift a while back.
I couldn't wait till it ended...and cry in a corner.

Drifting should not be done on public roads or in parking houses.

Tokyo Drift reminds me of those Arabain maniacs powersliding on public roads with their FWD sedans.

Drifting should not be done on public roads or in parking houses.
I hope that isn't your biggest issue because I can pick apart most movies based on this kind of logic.

Torpedos shouldn't be dropped in exhaust ports.
You shouldn't anger a crime lord.
Extreme sports junkies shouldn't be spies.
Michael Bay shouldn't direct movies.
Ben Affleck shouldn't act in movies.
Secret agents shouldn't wear tuxedos and drive flashy cars.
Alien eggs should never be studied without protective gear.
You shouldn't street race.
You shouldn't steal cars.
You shouldn't deal drugs.

I'll stop now. I'm being silly.

What Arabian maniacs are you talking about? It must be a local thing because we get rich white kids in ricers doing that around here. Oh and the occasional poor white kid that thinks it is just as cool to do it to his Mom's Ford Contour (I have actually seen this).

I could swear I've been through this with you before. Maybe it was with somebody else. :D

Miami cops decide to go into a communist country(Cuba) on their own, in a chopper, and successfully rescues the girl. I didn't find the movie exciting or funny, so obviously, the climax in Cuba didn't help.

Don't get me wrong, I LOVE dumb movies. They can be very fun, and Fast and the Furious series is a good example of that(at least for some of us). Bad Boys II, that movie just rubs me the wrong way.

That dosen't not make sense, the mans trying to rescue his sister. Loads of people don't like Bad Boys 2. I ******* love it, the best action sequences in a movie for ages & its frequently hilaiorus.

Back to Tokyo Drift, anyone else think the coverart is horrid??

From some guy or mob, yeah, it would make sense. Getting into a communist country that has no relations with yours in a chopper with bunch other cops, I'd have to say no. Don't get me wrong, it is just movie after all. With a little tweak to the plot, they could have made a little sense, like American high school reject going to Tokyo and winning the drift title, while getting in the face of Yakuza boss. :D

This movie was so bad that I walked out on it. Not even in theaters, no. This was a rental. I walked out on a rental movie.

In my opinion, its FAR better than F&F 2, but that doesn't say a thing. It was ok as was the first. Got to see it in theatres for free and was impressed, mainly due to the fact I was walking in thinking it was going to be absolutely horrid.

Again there was some TERRIBLE CGI, but that's to be expected. Drifting through the crowd is the best example that comes to mind of the CGI. The cars were actually real, but all the people were added in digitally. It doesn't look bad at first, mainly because the cars are the primary focus, but looking just a tiny bit closer and it's laughable at best.

The F&F series will never be remembered for their great stories and acting. They will be remembered for making millions of teenagers put HUGE tailpipes and cone air filters on their little econoboxes and brag about 25+ hp increases.

I don't think that F&F is responsible for that car culture, it existed long before the movies and it was evidently popular before the movies by it's presence in society be it seeing thoes moded cars on the streets or simply looking at the sheer number of magazines that covered that car culture.

It isn't necessarily solely responsible for it, but it had a very large point in making it more noticible and larger.

It's made people that wern't involved in it more aware of it but gerneally if someone was going to get into that thing they would get into it, the culture was literally MASSIVE before the movies and you didn't have to look hard to notice it. The movies themselves haven't increased the culture much they've just made people who were otherwise not involved more aware of it and probably over 90% of thoes people are still otherwise not involved. The movies far get more credit for influencing the culture than they deserve.

We had this discussion before in another thread. Probably another F&F one.

I say it again, where I live, ricer/import tuner thing was huge. So many Civics and other compacts(including American and German) were being "souped up", WAY before the movie had come out.
"The Fast and the Furious" did fuel the fire, but it's the movie that came out of the import scene, not the other way around.

And I wouldn't argue that it made the scene noticeably larger(personally, I didn't notice), but it was a growing trend anyway. By the time of the release, the movie was a huge hit because kids were into it already.

I know that the whole "tuner car" thing had been going on long before the movies. There were 3 or 4 guys around here into it. What I was stating was that now there were all these kids that wanted to be like the cars in the movies with cheap and useless mods. Those involved in import tuning before the movies, in my experience, had far less annoying and much more powerful/capable cars.

To sum it up, F&F created many wanna-bes. I suppose my sarcasm in my previous post wasn't obvious enough.

Not seem like I can't be lighthearted it's just that I dissagree with that too. Like a6m5 said, it was a growing culture anyway, when the first film came out the kids were already well aware of it and that's why it was such a big hit. If they didn't know what it was all about there's no doubt that the movie wouldn't have been half as popular at the cinemas. The ratio of well tuned vehicles to useless mods hasn't changed either imo, depending on your definition of a useless mod anyway. There's always been more what I would consider, badly tuned cars than ell tuned cars around, that hasn't changed. There are more badly tuned cars around now, but there's more well tuned cars too, because there's more tuned cars full stop. But there would have been more without the movies, most of the boys in school read MaxPower, same goes for college, and I was well through college when the first movie came out.
