M5Power
The twelve-second barrier is a tough one to cross these days, even for a relatively underpowered vehicle with a relatively heavy body and a conservative transmission. Still, I can't think of a consumer-market V6 that does 0-60 in under 11. (I say consumer-market because it occurs to me I don't know what base engine is inside a Dodge Sprinter, though I have a feeling it's a five-cylinder) Aztek hovers right around the 9-second mark: about 8.9 with two-wheel drive, and 9.2 with all-wheel drive.
:ouch: My first estimate was 10, should have stuck with that.
"The Dodge Sprinter is powered by a 2.7L Mercedes-Benz Turbo Diesel Inline 5-cylinder engine with Common Rail Direct Injection that uses an intercooled turbocharger to generate 154 horsepower at 3800 rpm and 243 lb-ft of torque from 1600 to 2400 rpm."
This is apperently the only engine availible.

With all those specs there, they didn't think to give a 0-60 time. :p

OK, for less than $20k you can buy:
-And early C5 Vette
-About any C4 vette, maybe even a ZR-1
-A Supra
-A 300ZX
-An RX-7
-A rather newer Mustang (not V6)
-A Camaro or Firebird
-A cool, fast older porsche or a newer Boxster (forget the Boxster)
-An M3 (Easily 97 or 98, if not newer)

And we're discussing the Dodge Sprinter (and we're surprised there's no 0-60 time!) Does anyone else feel sheepish? :guilty:

Ah yes, right.. how could I forget!

A Cherry 944 turbo runs about only 6k nowa days :dopey:
Yeah, nobody's even gone there, and they are pimp!

You can get 911's, too, for a lot less than you'd think. But either a little older porsche or vette is going to get you the most performance (speed and handling), maybe a pony car (speed, less handling) or M3 (less speed, more handling) if you need room for a few more passengers.

Your best bang for the buck is for sure an LS1 powerplant if you're aiming for 20k and under. The potential is huge and they respond really well to simple bolt-ons. The stock motor will take a 100-150 shot any day of the week without sweating. That is if you're interested in a domestic.
