Excluding the X1 and the F1 cars, which is the fastest car in the game?

I was thinking maybe one of the le mans cars?

If your talk about pure speed, I would say the Veyron. That thing is rediculously quick off off the line and on the straights. But don't make that elephant turn

Audi or Peugeot Lemans cars.

The Lemans cars are all pretty quick, haven't tried many of them The R8 and R10 are quick but if the game has any bearing in reality the Pescarolo LMP1 cars should be faster.

The Mercedes-Benz Sauber Mercedes C9 Race Car '89 if it's anything like it was in GT4 will be ludicrously fast, with the right setup it could lap monaco faster than the Formula Gran Turismo and had a much higher top speed too.

The Jaguar XJR-9 LM Race Car '88 should be amongst the fastest too.

I've heard many great things about the 458. I actually plan on getting it this weekend (along with the lf-a). I'd say from what i've heard, it is one of the faster cars (especially fully tuned on racing tires).

My Veyron went up to 270 (briefly) on SSR7.

It isn't, the 458 Italia tops out at about 710 HP, and has a top speed of 220. Mine is fully tuned. Unless it can get more power, don't think it's even close. Saddens me that there is no supercharger kit, or anything for it.

222 MPH - Ferrari 458 Italia (711 HP)

But it drives great, so much control, and the 711 HP doesn't turn it into a nightmare in corners. Great for track, no the best for top end speed.
