Favorite dirty trick

At the risk of being OT myself, I will tell you that I was a dedicated analog sticks guy for GT3, and found GT4 very difficult to get comfortable with. GT4 really punishes heavy control inputs. If you have any chance at all to do so, buy a Driving Force Pro wheel and pedals from Logitech and rig up a sturdy stand for it. You'll never look back. The wheel can be had for ~$100 and stands can be made in the ~$20-30 range, or bought for a little more cash. Try the Cockpits and Steering Wheels board for some input, if you haven't already.

I usually try to avoid the AI on most races, even giving them leway like a real race. On some highly competitive 200 point races though, sometimes you just have to barge in and get those slow 2nd and 3rd cars out of the way so you can get up to the much faster first AI car.

While I try to avoid bumping, I really hate when the AI takes me out. I've been in many situations where it seemed like the AI was just gunning for me totaly taking me out and himself too! Both of us flying off the track. In fact I just did a race on that little practice course err motorland driving park that is. On the last turn the AI pushed me off the outside and we BOTH were forced to pit! It really annoys me when you have a clear line and the AI boxes you out off the course. In real life if you have the line the other driver will respect your space. The weird thing is that it is inconsistent at times where one time the AI will back off and another time the AI will just out right ram you. While playing dirty tricks on the AI may be fun, the AI doing them to you is not and oftentimes they have better moves then you do... The worst example for me is in a special condition race/rally. The AI can bump your front quarter panels to invoke a 5 sec penalty for you but they won't get penalized even if you are at a total standstill and they ram you.

one of my personal favorites.... i was doing the polyphony digital cup and racing at seattle i was in the mines GT-R and a pugeot 206 cc was in front of me and i dont know how i managed to do this and what speed i hit the hill at and i managed to jump the pugeot but hit the "wall" flew on my side and landed on my wheels if i had pics id show but i dont sorry. Saved replay watched it and saw what i did and i jumped a little bit off and i managed to clip the invisible wall and hit my side
wildbillk that has happened to me once and i have NEVER had it happen again after i got a little destructive:mischievous:

PARAGON GT
..... I tucked my front bumper on his back bumper, and gunned it. Pushed him well over 100mph. Then came the turn. I made it with ease . . . he on the other hand disappeared somewhere in the grass. .........

Yuppp I love doin' that too... I enter with one of the Nissan or the Minolta Toyota racers and do that to the poor guys... I can tell you of a Fiat 500 doing over 250 kph !! :D

BTW, it is just spectacular to see that from the eyes of the AI :D

My favorite dirty trick in GT4 is: on the last lap of a 2 car race (Me & one of the AI, my car being a convertible) on the main straight of High Speed Ring, I start to push their car further away from my car until he slams right into the tire barrier next to the unused entrance to Pit Road and can't back out!

It Rally D'Umbria there's a bunch of corners where you can nail the opponent into a outcropping in the wall and it'll take a looooong while for them to get back on track. Its amusing to watch :D

Sometimes I get really pissed at the AI and RAM THE F'CK out of them after they do some stupid shiite to me. Like when they late brake into your bumper, or try to pass and end up putting you in the wall hard, or completely ignore the fact that your trying to pass them and are already half way there and run you off into the dirt/wall, etc.

Usually I get about 2-3 car lengths back comming into a sharp/hairpin turn and hit the gas instead of the brake and use the AI as the brakes. It makes it all better.

BTW, I like running races for 125-150 aspec points. That's a good competative race in the JGTC/DTM classes.

Don't bypass the swear filter. It's there for a reason.

I'll acutally Answer the Post: "Motegi The long Version" - Right after the Long straight into the slightly down hill sloping corner Hit them so hard they dont know if their racing or in the sahara... LOL

Thought I'd add to this thread considering the recent slating received when a posted a certain reply in this thread: https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=82036

Yes, in times of need I'm prone to a little argy-bargy (understatement). For example, there is no way I'd toil through an endurance race knowing that without force, I would not win. Equally though, I like a challenge, although preferably in less serious circumstances.

I would also like to add that some of my best races involve 'dirty driving'. For example, when racing an Audi R8 with with a Nissan 350Z LM Car on Tsukuba Wet Hard Challenge. With it's pace and grip, there was no way I could keep up with it, so I just barged it off on the first corner and 'valiantly' held onto the lead for 5 (or however many) laps. Perhaps the rain evened out the cars more but it was still a decent race.
