The NA Miata has perfect Grip and power IMO and feels reallistic on wheel ;)

Yeah the Miatas are fun little cars my friend use to do a endurance race series with the DLC Miata RM really fun lobby's but he hasn't signed on in 5 Months

While we're on the topic of Mazdas, how well does the RX-8 hold up in drifting?

Great at the lower ends of power and speed, falls a bit flat compared to the RX-7 as driver skill goes up. It's a great learner's car however, for its forgiving chassis and wheelbase. In fact, you can drift one stock from the premium dealership, even on the CS tires. It is a bit high power, but heavy enough that it is 'balanced enough' for a newbie.

It's one I would recommend, with no engine mods, to a drifter just starting out, more so than an S13/14, which I always found to be a bit twitchy and sensitive for newer drifters. It's not as good as an old, loose chassis bias-ply tire car however, such as the stock AE86, Kenmeri GT-R, non-turbo RX-7 FC, 280ZX-L or 240ZG.

I'll try it out when I get a chance. But IMO, a great beginner car for people on controler is a stock Corvette C6 Z06. Throw on Comfort Hards and head to Eiger Nordwand short track and you're good to go.

Semi-independent leaf springs really do suck at keeping traction on the rear.

If I was teaching someone to drift, the Z06 has way too much power for them to rely on as a crutch to make up for poor entries. But I try to emphasize handling and weight transfer first, countersteer and "controlling" the drift second, since I think those are things people naturally start to understand once they learn how to most efficiently enter the drift.
