"You playing? Play!"

Arthur C Clarke many times forcing me or one of his buddies to play TT.

And then he would crush us.

From Doctor Who:
"Hey, look at me, I'm The Doctor, I can save the universe using a kettle and some string, and look at me I'm wearing a vegetable!" - The Tenth Doctor talking to The Fifth Doctor

From Castle:

"There are no victories, there's only Battles. And the best that you could hope for is that you find some place where you can make your stand." - Captain Roy Montgomery

A point to ponder. ;)

In grade school I was a complete geek. You know, there's always the kid who's too short, the one who wears glasses, the kid who's not athletic. Well, I was all three.

Some of my personal faves:

"Failure is the opportunity to begin again more intelligently." -Henry Ford

"I believe every human mind feels pleasure in doing good to one another." -Thomas Jefferson

"A professional is someone who can do his best work when he doesn't feel like it." -Alistair Cooke

Some of my favourite Reddington Blacklist quotes:

Red: "Then you'll just have to find another criminal to talk to Elizabeth Keen and make fun of Agent Ressler."
Red: "Reciprocity's a ****, right, darling? Screw the bear, the bear screws back. Batteries not included."
Red: "I am terribly sorry for the inconvenience, but it appears we'll all be taking an extended lunch. However, if you remain calm and do exactly as I say, I promise, you'll leave here with a rip roaring story to tell your friends and family. Bon appetit!"
Red: "Dembe, I'll get her downstairs. After you're finished, grab the pretzels"

Eleventh Law of Acoustics:
In a minimum-phase system there is an inextricable link between frequency response, phase response and transient response, as they are all merely transforms of one another. This combined with minimalization of open-loop errors in output amplifiers and correct compensation for non-linear passive crossover network loading can lead to a significant decrease in system resolution lost. However, of course, this all means jack when you listen to Pink Floyd.

"Just because you got bumped up to first chair in the orchestra, doesn't mean you can compose a symphony" - Raymond Reddington, The Blacklist

I came across these words a few years ago when I was having an issue in my personal life involving a woman that wasn't my wife. After a long time and a lot of thought I came to decided that Depp is wrong and sometimes these things happen to test our resolve.

I actually remember you talking about that in here - not really sure in what thread. I also remember thinking at the time that you were very 'taken up' with this other woman and I wondered about your feelings towards your wife but I read between the lines that you were 'in control' of the situation while being aware of all the possible permutations of that particular time-stream.
You sound like you don't regret any decisions you made about it - good for you.

These quotations are dangerous.
It can be brain-washing, subtle programming of the way we should perceive reality, when in reality there is nothing more to be perceived than what we give meaning to.
Add to the quotations 'strength and credibility' because it was mouthed by a 'person of note' - a celebrity, a person in authority, a very wealthy person, etc. - and the words become akin to the words of a supreme immortal.
What really does Depp know about 'love' or 'falling into it' or the concept of 'simultaneous' or for that matter even the number of times one can 'fall in love'.

Bingo Little did it every spring.

People are lovable, everybody is, if one looks at them right. ;)

Harry, as always, you are wise beyond years. What I experienced in my time of desperation was only something to learn from. I love my wife and I possibly loved the other woman too. The main factor was life; to live with one wasn't possible, to live with the other was all I wanted. Despite wanting one through lust I knew the one I had was truth. I could go on all night about the discrepancy between the two women I would crave but ultimately only one would for fill my life.

I wish I had more time to discuss the issue but I'm about to ride home drunk and take my life into my own hands. Because life is what we make of it.

"Seeing a notification for new FilthyFrank video in your subscription box is like your doctor calling to tell you that the cancer has come back." - Some random commenter on FilthyFrank's channel.

"Man their sub box is like the countdown of New Years" - In reference to The Fine Bros. on YouTube losing their subscribers for pulling a number of horrible tactics in the past few days.

"Actions speak louder than words."

-My Dad

"I don't like being passed. It's a sign of weakness."

This is probably the best speech I've ever heard. Spoken in 1968 but could just as easily have been made in 2016. Nothing has changed.
I'm not an American but I feel this speech rings true for all the countries in the world even today.

Robert was shot and killed by three bullets only two months after delivering this speech.

Two months.

We've had several politicians murdered where I live, now in modern times. So I can definitely relate and to me this speech isn't all about politics, it reflects on all aspects of our existence and current events in the world.

Mikhail Kalashnikov had a few interesting ones:

I'm proud of my invention, but I'm sad that it is used by terrorists. I would prefer to have invented a machine that people could use and that would help farmers with their work; a lawn mower, for example.

Blame the Nazi Germans for making me become a gun designer; I always wanted to construct agriculture machinery.

I sleep well. It's the politicians who are to blame for failing to come to an agreement and resorting to violence.
