I was just wondering what everyone's favorites as far as vehicle makes. I like normally Japan stuff, Honda, Mazda, and Toyota. I like Toyota the best. Some of those over-seas cars can get reallly expensive.

What vehicle make(s) do you like... or hate?

My fave i think, even though i like Toyota best for cars, would have to be Nissan i think. For their variety of cars. But all in all, toyota wins, lol.

this is a gt forum, what the hell do you think? they all like azian cars and hate american cars. this is how gt raises our youth.

my favorite manufacturer is bmw by the way. theyve made some great drivers cars over the years.

street - RUF, since they just plain move, and look great doing it.
racing - Opel, for the Astra and Calibra Touring Cars

[rant]wow, what a moron you are. get a grip: it is impossible to make a comment like this one. they suck, based on what? do they suck based on the tremendous outpouring of brute power they have, Mr. Type-R? that must be it; i'm sure you're whopping 98ft-lb. Honda can whip any puny Viper, Corvette, or even freaking Cadillac Seville out there, since they weigh so very much more than your VTEC Beast (tremble in fear of the almighty valve-timing)! whoopie, you have a special cam job. American cars have 2000 more pounds and 300 more horsepower! some Japanese cars are great. some American cars are great. there is no victor, and you have proven your ignorance.[/rant]

I agree with you palm, and I also agree with anyone who thinks japenese cars are pretty swift. They both have their pros and cons, so how can you say US cars suck? On what grounds? They have more power and wheigh more and can whoop a Vitz any day? HAHA!

American made cars have 1980s technology and have to much displacement for the hp. A Honda S2000 is a perfect representation of a great Japanese car. It has 240hp with a 2.0L VTEC L4 engine (Thats 120hp per L), 50/50 weight distribution, weighs only 2,800 lbs, and costs around $33,000. Then take the new Viper, it has a 8.3L V10, makes 500hp (that's only about 60hp per L) and costs around $84,000. One could easily put an other $51,000 or less into the S2000 and it would be way faster than the Viper but at the same price (or less); one could also do this to the skyline, the Supra, the RX-7, or any other great Japanese car and each would be faster than the Viper! :trouble:
American made cars are also very unreliable compared to Japanese made or European made cars.:D

did i not say that some Japanese cars were fast? i never once accused all cars made in a certain country of sucking, soleley because they were made there. you, on the other hand, bluntly stated "American cars do Suck!!!!!!!!", with nothing further justifying either why or how they "suck," or even that not all of them do.

before you say what you think, think.

who said every thing is about speed?

I presonally (and this is just my opinion) think the viper is a much better looking :)
I mean MUCH!

Japanese cars are perfect for extreme turbo and fast preformance.

American Cars have power under their bonnets, yet if driven properly a Lancer EVO VII could beat a viper...power is not everything

European cars are fast and elegant and are excellent at speed and fun!

Clear as day however ....American Cars suck badly. A Trueno AE86 could beat a Mustang SVT Cobra, nuff said.

once again, we neglect to actually criticize some part of the American cars. if you were to say "American cars suck," you're categorizing both the Dodge Viper and the Plymouth PT Cruiser as the same thing, which they are not. why do i not say Japanese cars suck when Japan is responsible for the Diahatsu Midget? because they also created the Nissan GT-R and Mazda RX-8. a Corvette and a Cavalier are 2 different things, as are a Vitz and a Supra.

are you kidding me? those ****ing cartoons really have your mind messed up. the ae86 has 127hp, not even considering they are almost 20 years old. a HIGHLY tuned 4ag makes 200hp. thats pretty much the limit. a cobras limit is?

dont get me wrong, i like the ae86. its a fun car to drive, my buddy has one. but the cars are impossible to find. if you do find it, it will have 250k miles and had been used as a rusty commuter for the past 15 years. then it will cost 10k to get it reliable. by then i would much rather buy an e30 m3 for the same price. all of you dumb young initial d watching fools need to think before you speak.

and jdm type r, volumetric efficiency isnt everything. it means nothing but the state of tune of two engines. if you have 2 cars, same weight. and one has a 8 liter v10 500hp, and one a 2l 240hp i4, the 500hp car is going to tromp the other one. volumetric efficiency is just a number, it means nothing real. hp is hp.

that s2000 your talking about by the way has NO torque. have you ever driven one of them? haha.

someone could easily put $60k into a mustang and have it kill a viper as well. your thoughts are all one sided. wait, you know what? you couldnt put 50k into a s2000 and have it faster than a viper. when was the last time you saw an s2000 with more than 500hp? never? if you stay NA you would never make that kind of power. and uf you turboed it you would have to swap all the parts for low compression ones. i dont think ive seen an s2000 with that much power.

American made cars have 1980s technology and have to much displacement for the hp.
this is the EXACT thing all super street type mags are brainwashing you to believe. when you are a 14 year old kid, try and not to believe everything you hear or read. remember that the media often gives you wrong assumptions.

j2s has great points. i would also like to say i dont think either japanese cars or american cars are crap.

i myself bought an e30 m3 because i dont want to be affiliated with the young people that drive japanese cars in the USA. not to mention that i think the e30 m3 is one of the best cars ever made. i will probably continue to buy european cars until i see something that will change my mind.

I don't think either Japanese or American cars are crap, but i do like those European cars, but i can't go past a Dodge Viper GTS or a Toyota Supra (Denso Sard)

Why is everyone so biased.. i agree, everyone is different, but are we going to lose our brains and fight over stupidity?

personally, i like all the cars, each is unique in their own way, you can't compare them.....

Hey type R do you know how much some of those imports cost? some much more then our Vipers. Take the Skyline for example: almost 100K for the R34...and 75k for our Viper. And you talking about droping in 50K into the R34 Skyline. In stock form the Viper would kill the R34 on a Road Course.

P.S. And and remember its a internet form where you can state your "OPINION!!!"

well the r34 isnt 100k (it is through motorex) i totally agree. in stock form a $45k or so z06 corvette will beat a gtr.

I, along with other's in this thread, don't have a problem with American, Japanese, European cars. Their all built to their own specifications and their all going to suite different people.

My favorite manufacturer would have to be NISSAN.

A R34 here will go for 90k AUS...about 50k US.

advanR you are really suck! A GTR can easily deafeat a z06 it may not have as much power but with it's 4 wheel drive it's superior with handling and all.

The Toyota, Honda, Mazda, Lotus, Tommy Kaira, NOOT LISTER, and never daihatsu

And also Dodge Different & Chrysler; obviously:)

Enough about the Japenese and American cars. Choose and race whatever one you choos to, we all dont care. I have my prefereences, and you probably did to, so shut up losers!

And by the way, I am on my schools computer :D! HAHA!

the best companies I've found to like are listed from starting with my favorite,to the least favorite =D

1. Toyota
2. Nissan
3. Mazda
4. Mitsubishi
5. Subaru
6. Honda

I'm pretty much Japanese company based, but there's still some Japanese companies that I don't like,so...=P
