I reckon it's a bad move for them, but at least it means new fresh meat.

Explain why it is a bad move?

They're getting good publicity for letting it go free. Look at Wolfenstein : Enemy Territory, it's one of the most popular games on the net, and it's free.

Because they will lose money, plus a free F.E.A.R multiplayer being free does not sound like a complete game. But if you want the true complete F.E.A.R, then buy the full game with the single player.

Don't you think they would know that? Most people have played the single player campaign. Last I heard, hardly anyone was on MP, so they decided they needed to boost players, and get newcomers interested. Don't think just because someone decides to make something freeware they are instantly going to lose money.

There is something called an ulterior motive. And what the hell are you talking about a complete game. Explain to me, how a FREE MULTIPLAYER GAME WITH ALL MODES, NEW MAPS, FULL MOD COMPATIBILITY AND UP TO DATE GRAPHICS sounds like an incomplete game.

Going by your logic, Unreal Tournament, Q3A, and Enemy Terrority are "incomplete" games as well, even though they are immensly popular.

Admit it.

Anyway, you're probably going to ignore this like all the other people that argue your invalid points. So to anybody else interested, let's try to get a GTP server up or something :)

At least I don't have to pay for it

I'm so taking you down.

ROFL! I have the singleplayer, you don't! I really don't care if I payed for it. I got the game the hour it was released! I have more pried then you :D

BTW The multiplayer... SUCKS.

It was awesome when I played it. :dopey:

So erm...the counter has counted down but I'm not directed to any link :|

Well at least I can spell 👍 .

:D Only kidding.

I only like FEAR Multiplayer on certain maps. I like unarmed-attacking people. Easy kills, most fun ever. This gets repetitive after a while. It's mainly just a bunch of close quarters, dark maps with the exception of a couple of maps. I don't like the weapons system.

This seems more optimized than the Demo was (obviously). Runs on all high settings on my 6800XT fairly smoothly, but after a while it likes to overheat.

I hope this is a good multiplayer game. I'm torrenting it atm... so it better be good. Otherwise i'll be a lil angry man... just picture a lil gremlin in a leprachaun suit. THATS ME :@

I can't play FEAR online at all until the UK 1.07 patch comes out, argh.

Bwahahaha. Finally, the U.S gets something useful before the UK 👍 .

Really, it's not anything you should get too excited about. Just the same old crappy FEAR Multiplayer as it was before. I must say, if you have a half decent computer, you can run it on high settings though.

IMO, FEAR Multiplayer just feels too cheap. It's the same thing over and over again. If you've ever watched P.A.N.I.C.S, you'll notice a comment about how each level is in a dark, mysterious, close quarters, office-type area. That's pretty much correct. There are 1 or 2 maps that aren't dark, only a couple that aren't mostly close quarters, and only 2 that I know of that aren't based on some kind of office-type building.

I like the difference in weapons though and how they affect your style of gameplay. I use the 10MM armor-piercing weapon, thing is great and it's based on accuracy so I just line the bad guy up and shoot :)

It's pretty fun though, yeah it's simple and it's basically the same type of games as every other Multiplayer FPS, but I still think it's fun and the hitboxes sure beat the hell out of Counter-Strike: Source's..
