Female Drivers.

I'm going to bed soon, but just wanted to say something here real quick before I do. Why has there never been any female drivers(game model thingies) in Gran Turismo? I think that is pretty messed up I mean there are great female drivers in the world so why not include them in GT? I hope that in GT6 PD gets a little smarter and adds female drivers in it.

Does anyone else here agree with this.

And yes this is a serious topic I am not joking, just wanted to clear that up before someone may accuse this of being a joke topic.
 
I never noticed the gender of my driver, I mean I always see he/she wearing a suit with a helmet I just assumed he was a guy because I am. You do have a valid point however I think if we had more driver customization(such as selecting a gender) then your point would be that much more valid.

We have pink uniforms, along with all kinds of other colors, what, you want to see hair hanging below the helmet?
Or do you want to see barely noticeable boobs?

I have a female B-Spec driver now, and had never considered it an issue... Her name is S.Ashley, though my imagination caused it to be Ashley S.
And that was before the suits and helmets arrived.
 
Im happy that there are no female driver models. Ok, its bad for our female GT5 players, but this option would only lead all those immature idiots to use them. Right now I think its fine, race drivers are generally male. Whats the problem... I know, there are some great female race drivers like Sabine Schmitz or Danica Patrick, but they are few and non of them is the driver to beat in their form of motorsports (In DTM Paul Di Resta -who is incredibly talented- was way better then Sabine and in Indy car Danica has yet to win a championship).
 
The other day on the home screen of GT5 before you go to GT mode, the scene was set in the pit garage and there was a female pit crew member with a chart. It surprised me I don't know if anyone's mentioned it, but I never saw it before and was wondering if they updated it. Yeah, I agree they should add females and ethnicity too, but that will probably be in GT6 like an RPG of choosing your character and how they look.

Yes, out of everything, this is No. 1 on my wishlist. :rolleyes:

It's not the sims, the drivers have whatever race/ethnicity/sex you choose, as you can't see any skin.

But hey, if you can't complain about trees, you gotta find something right? Screw racing related additions, I want to buy a house and drive to it, like a country cruise, choose my skin color, speech accent, browse hot women for a wife, maybe she cheats on me and we get a divorce, maybe I cheat on her and she never finds out, who knows?
I want a virtual life because reality sucks. :crazy:
 
Despite my rather ironic username, I have a point to be made:

Kaz never intended for people to be offended by the (Rather sexist) decision to have a Male-dominated game: in fact, The reason why he implemented pink, purple, ect... colors into the suits is so everyone has a (vague) choice of what they envision their driver to be. Be it He or She:sly:

In short, Kaz is just being cheap with his cash:dunce:


Also, Racing is a rare sport for women to be interested in, not that that's bad:tup:
It's just one more step towards gaming diversity:sly:

Why people still asking for GT6? Who cares about gender in racing game?
 
You can say the same thing for many games actually.
Pretty much all the racing games, and most shooting games don't feature females as playable characters.
 
I wouldn't really worry about it. I reckon they were more focused on the core gameplay rather than certain genders.

I just watched the Nationwide series race at Daytona last night with Danica Patrick and Jennifer Jo Cobb running in the race.

This series is just one notch below, the Sprint Cup series.

Considering this and Danica's accomplishments in IRL, it's certainly "no joke".

As a matter of fact, Danica performed very well, and was in the hunt all the way to the last lap when she was taken to the wall by another driver, and a huge wreck ensued.

I think you may very well see your request honored in GT6.

Time will tell.


Edit: I think Jennifer Jo Cobb is a selectable driver in NASCAR the game 2011.

And how would immature idiots using a female driver avatar only to be seen in the cockpit affect the game at all?
If there's 2 basic avatars to be selected (a male and female one) it wouldn't make a single difference whether a guy or a girl choses a female avatar.
Although I think this issue is largely irrelevant within the context of a mere avatar in a driving game, I can see some would prefer a female avatar because they're either female or prefer to be seen as a female for whatever reason.
Unless there's an option for immature idiots to create huge boobs, etc. it wouldn't make a single difference what someone chooses, especially since they're all wearing racing suits and helmets anyway.
 
I think this is a really important topic this is a gender equality issue and I think it should be fixed
 
Just brought this topic up with the girlfriend and she thinks its ridiculous that anyone would bother with it. "Your not gonna say those boobs at 200kph and even looking into the car they would be blocked by the steering column." And I'd have to agree. "This game is about the cars not the person behind it. Thats why there's games like TDU2 and the Sims."
 
Thanks for all the replies everyone. I see many different positions on this issue. I could care less about the breast size of the driver or if she is hot or anything like that, just a noticable female form driving is what I was saying. Other than that I would play just as I normally do in the game which is to just enjoy my loved cars and the track I'm on etc.
 
Who says the drivers are men? I say they are flat chested women.
 
stupid suits, helmets, horns n AI. game is too short. and multiplayer lobbies deserve mini leaderboards. not enough tracks or premium cars!
all of this bothers me, but i still cant put the game down. so imo PD should be listening to their gamers, but seriously, who gives a s*** about suits n helmets

Why would anyone want to play as female driver, that is just weird. I don't like to play as any female character in video game
 
Being cheap ? Nope, It's just that Kaz and his group of nerds, err programmers have never been close enough to a woman to model one right !

And why using so many members a female avatar? I don't know it. :)

Imo you should be able to choose a female driver. Like you can in nearly every other game. A side effect could be that more girls buying & playing GT5. :dopey:👍
