You should only practice and tune in an online lobby for this series. Anything done offline or in your lounge will be wasted effort. For me it is.

The physics seem to be diffrent but i seem to be faster online, others may say diffrent though.

The physics online are the most frustrating thing in the world. Offline, I was putting in a ton of clean consistent Laps. I even got in the 1:10s on Racing Hards with full fuel (which is good for me). Because of this, I thought I'd do well online as well. Unfortunately I was terribly mistaken, as for some reason, while using the same car/tune/driver/line online, the car keeps spinning out on the corner right after the downhill bit after Casino (corner before hairpin), and the corner right after the hairpin. this happens almost EVERY LAP

It seems like there's nothing I can do about it either. Apply less throttle, I spin out more. Apply more throttle, I spin out more and waste tires. Even approaching the corner from many different angles hasn't helped. Best time on Racing Mediums (when somehow I managed a clean lap) was a disappointing 1:13.4. Anyone else have this issue when driving online? If so, what did you do to fix it?

Thanks in advance and Cheers 👍

But regardless of any type of tune (I even got to the point of looking up a specific tune for the F10 at Monaco online) I still have the same issue. This doesn't happen with the F2007 though, which I find very, very odd.

I had a difficult time at Monaco last season myself. Perhaps someone can share their secret for this track?

It does happen with the 2007 and all cars for that matter. The f10 is much harder to drive so it's more noticeable. They changed the formula in 09 and its taken a bit to perfect but it has resulted in some of the best racing we've ever seen in f1 this year.

While I do agree with you, (how do you argue with 7 different winners in 7 races?) I just don't quite understand why this ONLY happens online. I'm still also trying to figure out how to avoid this problem. Any pointers?

I think I know what you mean. For me it helped to not let of the gas completely while breaking into that corner thus keeping the car more balanced going in. I think Artmannn showed me that.

Sort of like what Joe said, try trail braking into the corner and once you're close to the apex apply about 10-20% throttle and smoothly apply more until you're out of the corner.

But try to not go below 5% throttle if it is still an issue.

Less than 5% throttle is just asking for death in the corners, let the wheels spin and the downforce keep the back from stepping out too much. It also applies to the corner after the hairpin.

Simply tune in an online room under full sim conditions. Easy :)

I dont think im ever off the throttle much around the track.

For the record this isn't the same for me, but everyone has a different driving style and setup. I just trail brake everything on this course, left leg is getting a workout on sunday. I kind of like the kick you get from being fully off the throttle and downshifting, helps turn the car.

I have see that Gian.
Your rear tyres was terrible.
Worser then mine.

Only corner that throws me off or throws the back end out is the right hander after Loews.

Admittedly I can never quite figure that corner out. One lap I go through and feel like I could have carried more speed as there's no hint of oversteer, other times I go in what feels like slower and it spins. My current theory on that corner is not to be turning the wheel when you enter, get wide before that turn by hugging the inside of the hairpin. Might be an obvious statement, but I mean perfectly every time with almost no tolerance.

I can't believe I'm actually thinking about racing the F10 again. It punishes you for making the smallest mistakes.

I've since fixed the locking up, but on the bright side I will say oversteer was fun the first 10 laps with new tires. Couldn't resist pressing rear view all the time, formulas have the best tire smoke.

Yeah I think that's the mistake I'm making the most, I just need to work on throttle control specifically on those corners. I've watched some more onboard IRL F1 footage of Monaco (with telemetry, like gear, throttle & brake usage, RPM, etc), and they seem to be pretty similar to what I'm doing, especially in those troublesome corners. I should stop basing my GT5 knowledge on real life, because obviously the two aren't completely parallel. But thanks for the tips guys, I'll implement those things when I arrive home this evening. 👍

They should basically be the same thing if your tune is right. Keep in mind they have tons of technicians working on the car for each track and a second driver testing other setups. We have... well, ourselves.

Edit: I'm setting up the wheel, opening a practice room. Six pack ready to go, let's run some 7 laps races, ladies.

No not corner 6 its 7 that can spin ya easy.

This^^

7 is by far my worst corner :nervous:

I don't spin out at turn 7 much anymore, but Mirabeau is killing me. (Right before turn 6, or the hairpin)

After tonight's session, turn 7 is no longer an issue, I have that figured out. I still spin occasionally on Mirabeau (usually during the race unfortunately) but it isn't so bad, I just needed tonight to work out my tune. Looking forward to Sunday's race, especially with some more laps under my belt :)
