Danica Patrick on pole for Daytona 500, you guys better respect the "girls"

I heard through the grapevine she will probably replace Mark Webber at Red Bull next season :sly:

:sly:

She is doing fine "turning left" with probably a few extra ponies added to her car.( Doping!!!! :D ) Seems like a PR-stunt to increase attention from the "girls" to the sport.

I'm finding it hard to be motivated this season. I don't know if I have the heart in it that's required to compete. Not sure why; that long time off didn't help, but it's just not there.

I know the pre-season tracks are all first timers for me, but still, the guy one place ahead of me has lapped me both tracks. Then I spend the rest of the time in a paranoid watching the map/behind me mode. It's no fun, and gets me in more accidents.

It seems everyone has gotten better; where I've only gotten worse. I don't have the time to invest in tuning, and the 2.09 rev seems to have thrown everything out that may have worked before. I burn through tires like mad with no speed to show for it. Very frustrated.

Hey Tool, I need you on the team 👍:)
No pressure of course..

Will be watching the two girls on the front row, Danica and Jeff to see which one leads the 1st lap. :sly: Maybe Tony can go on a diet and get up there too.

As an aside I wont be doing Madrid for above reason, is that OK Immortal, I wont loose my spot?

👍

@ Madrid reverse:
May I start from pitlane? :D:rolleyes:

We will somehow get though that chicane...

Doing laps yesterday to get an Idea about the strategy, it surprised me that the layout of the track is not so bad! ( btw: did not change a thing to the last setup... )

Once you have a good race and especially once we get back on tracks you know, I think you'll be ok. Sometimes I struggle with motivation too but it usually passes once I have a fun race.

I dont want to hear this more.
Always racing and racing who say he dont have motivation for racing is not racer he must make other sport then.
Guys we are good drivers I only want motivated racer that say he only want racing.

Being motivated to race in a game week to week aint easy.

Also sometime this season We need a rain event its hard to believe we havent had one in our whole history .
We should vote when and where.

I thought that was a joke when I first heard it. She really got pole at daytona though. I don't really know NASCAR that well so I'm not sure if it's as impressive as getting pole in F1, but I'm impressed. If only she'd get on my pole as well... :)

@ racing:
Unless You are racing in real life ( that comes first ) the motivation should be no problem.
@ weather:
what about changing weather in spa or the nürburgring?
We could start with (for example) a 100% wet track.
And then the race will be due to canging weather really "real"....

@ guys who arnt motivated. How about you try driving the car just for fun. And you never know your good friend Gazziboy might have a lobby open if you want to play with someone else. I know how you feel sometimes, but you have to remember that apart from some random lobbies, the WC is the only place on the internet that has a high level driving going on, to challenge yourself against. Please dont leave us dudes.

@ weather. Id be more than up for a wet race around Spa. It's surprising how much grip there is with about 20-30% water on the track with the soft tyre. Say if it got progressively wetter, just think of the challenge everyone would be up against. When to change onto the wet tyre etc etc. We all know that when it rains in real F1, the race gets turned on its head and it makes for an exciting race to watch.

And who would have thought it. Seb Vettel fastest on the first day of Barcalona testing.

IP has said no to racing on the Nordschleife back S1.
And looks like we got 2 votes for Rain at SPA.

Oh non! :D I dind`t want to do 70 laps on the Nordschleife.:D

I meant one of the GP tracks @ Nürburg near the Nordschleife...:)

If we do race in the rain, I have a funny feeling IMMORTALPILOT is the rain master and we'll all be lapped by lap 2

@Motivation
I also nearly rage quit last season soon after the update, but then I realised that different people adjust differently to different changes. How many different differences in that sentence :D you just have to keep going and hope that the same people who gained from that update get screwed in the next :sly: besides where else can a girl race right...

In regards to the update I'm sure 2.11 will be more to the liking which will most probably reinstate that motivation. If not then, well, keep practising till you find the right tune:D

Rain in Spa gets my vote.

Oh no, not another update :grumpy:

Once you have a good race and especially once we get back on tracks you know, I think you'll be ok. Sometimes I struggle with motivation too but it usually passes once I have a fun race.

I typically get depressed around season end. This off season lasted so long it compounded things. I don't really play GT5 much aside from Sunday; which is obviously not helping but nothing new. After the first two races; when it was apparent that there were a lot of new contenders (and guys running with Immortal). I thought I may be 107% out, and give someone better a chance.

I know I'm garbage at those two tracks (forward or reverse). Once the traditional tracks come in I'll perform better. That's what I am hoping for; so I await the schedule to see when that might be.

Running P16 (or whatever last is at the time) isn't going to make me happy. That said, I don't care as long as P15 is on the same lap. Once the driver one position ahead of me has lapped me (or nearly) I lose all motivation. This has been the case since Season 1. Then, if I was running P5 and P4 lapped me it was a similar motivational hit. Basically, once I changed from chasing to being chased it goes downhill, but that is racing and I must adjust.

And I was trying to say that the GP circuit has no rain feature.

I wouldnt be so shure.

Is there going to be a calendar so we can see which track are going to be used?

Yes there'll be a calendar with all the events and dates soon after the final preseason race is held.

Like this Lovely one from Season 2

I hope hope they do something about the sound of those formula cars, they sound sick (not slang for cool, literally sick, unwell) other than that the graphics look awesome.

I'm only missing the Madrid pre season race to watch Daytona, I plan on trying to hit all the season's races (although the only flight to Las Vegas from my home is a Friday/Sat/Sun/Mon deal) I'm hoping to somehow make it work. If not I definitely will not miss any other races points, and will make sure to finish them all.

ok rich no problem.

Guys I open later Madrid reverse practice lobby first practice in Madrid reverse for me.

The graphics/sounds of Project cars dont impress me much for a high end PC thats on the current cutting edge, but at some point graphically speaking there's diminishing returns with racing games, so they focus on realism more.

It will be interesting how close PS4 comes to current high end PCs. I imagine it will be released as a "mid ranged" PC but with GT6 and the "share" button it will be a blast for people like immortal & D-UNEXPECTED who have amazing laps/races but cant share them.

I remember witnessing D-UNEX's F2007 4:40 lap on the Nordshleife but I dont do you tube videos so I couldn't share it.

This however, I really like.

I hear you about running in last place, I can't stand it. usually a few people rage quit and I end up last place, not always but sometimes and I have a real hard time not rage quiting myself at that point. i completely lose interest if I end up in last place, I don't like it

That's why I thanked Pola for staying in the race the other day because he was the last guy between me and last place since 3 other dudes already quit, so I hear you on that.

I don't have a big problem with people rage quiting, unless they're behind me lol

I've tried it, meh

Much more excited about the Assetto Corsa sim coming out. They're releasing a tech demo very soon and they put netKar Pro on sale for 5 euros, if you don't have nKp, now's the time. Most realistic physics ever in a sim, so AC has a lot of potential

Dont forget practice race today guys!!

Havent heard of Assetto yet but the only reason why PCars looks good is becauce they plan on a PS3 or 4 release. I really dont want to buy a gaming PC anytime soon.

I have a cheap laptop that doesn't even have a graphics card. Most PC sims don't require a gaming PC. pCars does but all the rest, rfactor, GTR, LFS, iracing, and netKar pro will run on basic 2.4 GHz i3 with 4 GB RAM. And if you have a graphics card it'll run even better.

Those are my specs and I play iracing daily.

If you didn't have a graphics card on your laptop you wouldn't be able to see 🤬 :D
