No, I do not consider Button to be anywhere near the likes of Alonso, Raikkonen, Vettel and Hamilton. I fail to see why others do.
Button's definitely the best wet driver of this era,so surely he's world class?
Not to mention his title but you could say your granny would of won in the car he had.

Less than 2 minutes to go! #F14T

Here we are:

Geez luiz it looks like someone tilting their head up and looking down their nose at someone and snorting in disgust.

The Ferrari nose is spectacular. Look at the front wing. It looks like nothing I've seen in F1. I bet the low nose made the engineers really think.

Because he won a World Championship and many other races?

Both Button and Barrichello were carried by a car a full season ahead of anything else on the grid. Not to mention he barely won that year, just in front of Vettel who nearly became a world champion in his first season with Red Bull. Had the issue of the double diffusers been clear from the start of the season, Button would've never obtained that title in the first place.

I also fail to see how him being a "good driver in the wet" makes him anything special over the other drivers.

I've always thought Button was an incredibly overrated driver. Seems I'm the only one. There is no doubt he is a quality driver and a very consistent one. But he is nowhere near the greats like the ones I mentioned before.

I should imagine they are a few people who think this, I'm certainly one of them, yes he's a good driver and very good in 'inbetween' conditions but he's not in the sane league as Fernando/Kimi/Lewis/Seb.

He's a really likeable guy but he needs everything to be perfect to win.

I'm not a fan. The vacuum nose just looks awkward. The other cars might look odd with the tip protruding, but they are otherwise fine. But everything forward of the front bulkhead looks terrible here.

See the thing is, in my opinion, that you don't need to have an incredible record to be among the top drivers of your era. Half of GTP might go on a witchhunt after me for saying this, but I genuinely believe that Montoya was such a topdriver in the few years he raced in F1. It's a pity his personality was such a PITA to deal with, and the fact Williams really went on a decline after 2004. Because Montoya is probably the last racing driver I genuinely enjoyed watching on the track, apart from the McLaren-Mercedes Raikkonen. I kind of miss a driver with such a mix of outright pace and on-track battle aggression. Or maybe the rules have transformed F1 in such a way that the kind of racing from 10 years, we no longer find.

I've got a neighbor who's been attending NASCAR races for years, and monitors pit/driver radio. I gather from him that Montoya is not exactly renowned for his IQ. Perhaps, as you suggest, the rules have transformed F1 cars in such as way that Montoya could not adapt?

Are you sure? (this one if from the Ferrari official Facebook page)
It's an old car under the blanket, if you look at the back of the car, the rear wing sticks out of the sides and is lower down while the air suction tube (what ever it's called) is the only thing very high up. If this was the 2014 car, you would see the rear wing making the blanket higher up throughout the rear of the car.

Can't believe the F166 Turbo didn't win the vote, I mean come on, the word turbo is involved, it's not a discussion to be had.

James Allison taking us through some detail on the F14 T (Fiat):

Cool to see them using brake-by-wire.

I wonder if there will be talk of ABS this year the same way they were using KERS to act as a type of TCS now that brake-by-wire's been brought up. Clever engineers.

Interesting aero talk in this video too.

Maybe,

But it also has 14 as in 2014, T in car terms generally stands for Turbo.

How does the F166 com into it?, was 2013 called the F150?

The 2013 Ferrari was the F138, the F150 was in 2011.

What we can establish is Ferrari put way too much effort in to name their cars.

I wonder how legitimate the results of the fan votes are. If I was the one in charge of deciding what to name the car I'd announce the poll to get media coverage, run the poll to get the fans involved and then just go with F14T/FIAT anyway since it's a nice way to get the parent company name in the Formula 1 team beyond the stickers on the car regardless of what the votes actually were.

I think they should have gone with "Ferrari Whothe****caresaboutwhatthecarisnamedjustleavemealoneIKnowwhatIMdoIng".

Oh yeah I remember reading it was F138 as it was 2013 V8 (F138)

I didn't even notice that but yeah, very similar to Fiat, so I wouldn't surprise me if that was the case.

Can't blame them tho.

It's official; i've been watching F1 since '92; and this will be the season with the ugliest cars i have ever seen, a bloody joke!
