More anomalies.

It's a TV antenna

Lewis and Alonso comes to mind as one of the best pairings ever. Two of the best qualifiers ever to sit together on one team, both coming fresh to a great car.

Too bad it all ended in tears.
Tears of joy.
I remember a Woking Spanish Fire helping our own Finnish Ice in an incredible come back. And that's just the tip of the iceberg. ;) This year you'll see what all these thermal excursions are capable of.

Vamos vamos !
Lähdetään menkäämme !

It would be great to see them fight for 1st place, just to see who has the biggest balls.

Yeah, I think it will be Alonso who comes out on top. He's more intuitive, and can adapt his style to fit the nuances of the car; as a result, he can drive it beyond its limits.

Kimi has (or had in his prime) awesome reflexes and incredible car control. But he isn't as adaptive as Alonso. If car development is good, he may match Alonso at the end of the season. But if the car is tricky to drive over the first half... and some have mentioned that it has looked tricky to drive in these tests... Alonso will probably have the better of him.

Räikkönen has always struck me as being sensitive to the performance of the car. If it's good, he's good. If not, it shows through in his results. They're not as bad as they could be, and he doesn't have the fluctuations of other drivers, but he is very much a driver whose performance depends on the car.

Honestly, I think it was a mistake to take him. I would have gone for Hulkenberg, or at least someone I could get more than two years out of. And if I was feeling particularly devious, Ricciardo. He's been praised for the quality of his feedback, and it would take the wind out of Red Bull's sails.

Ferrari, making a strategic driver choice? :D It wouldn't be Ferrari if they weren't making grandiose, sentimental gestures. Like keeping a driver beyond his sell-by date, or giving a race drive to a veteran test-driver who just isn't competitive... or rehiring an old champion just for the laughs of having two on the same team...

Italians... "Feels are more important than brains"
Yes.

But I genuinely believe Iceman to be a much better driver than Hulkenberg and Ricciardo for the next two years.

Ferrari need at least a Constructors Champ... NOW.

Oh and that's what Redbull is for.

Hasn't Kimi been sponsored by Red Bull since quite early in his career?

And yes, he's much better than Hulkenberg and Ricciardo, although both have the potential to become much better.

Kimi's up there with the natural racing talents like Alonso, Vettel, Hamilton, possibly Rosberg, or at least in my opinion :)

Not even Alonso Hamilton and Vettel are "much better" than Iceman they are all close.
One step behind stand Rosberg
Another step behaind stands Grosjean Magnussen and Button
Than come the rest.

I didn't word it so well, I share your view that neither Hulkenberg nor Ricciardo are likely to ever exceed Kimi in raw skill.

No. Red Bull sponsored Sauber for years, long before it became a household name. Räikkönen moved first to McLaren and then to Ferrari, but Red Bull had no involvement there. They backed him when he went to the WRC, and a lot of people thought that was proof that he would come back after a year and join Red Bull Racing, especially since they did not support his team-mate, Conrad Rautenbach, but it was only ever a public relations thing. When he proved to be fairly horrible in the WRC, Red Bull dropped him for his second season. Then he made his comeback with Lotus.

Sauber, of course! Thanks for that :)

Autosport has it covered it so I think it's official.. No surprise actually since we've been hearing rumours about it for a while already.

EDIT: Whoops.. Tree'd.

I don't even know what to make of this, extremely surprising.

I don't find it surprising to be honest because I've been hearing rumours about it for quite some time already and the Tifosi themselves demanded so... Now I really feel bad for him. Sigh.
