No because it's just pretty much fact unless you are my gran who needs the worlds biggest magnifying glass to see past the end of her nose.

I mean are you seriously trying to tell me those forza shots look better?

Even the forza fanboys accept that GT will look better.

Not all of them, still have a few floating around this thread!:sly:

Ok, and where does it stand "actual game fotage" They never said those pix are gtpsp.

Actually yeah they did.

And then when people started to cry foul about the first batch of "PSP" pics, Polyphony released some more "PSP" pics as "proof"

Looks like PSP graphics to me:crazy:

But one thing is for sure, GT5 will look better than GT5p.

I would suspect so. Not that it matters to me. If GT5 looked the same as GT5p, I wouldn't care either way. I just want to race and simulate. That is all I care about.

You are comparing a pic taken from an HD vid to a pic taken from a low res blurry vid.

Also one of those cars is actually on a track truly from gameplay and the other is ....not.

Not exactly the most fair comparison you could have made. Although I'm sure that was the point.:sly:

If you are going to use that GT 5 trailer pic then I suggest you use this trailer Forza 3 pic.

F-1.png

The big difference between that R8 Forza pic and the GT5 458 pic from the trailer is that the Forza one is 100% rendered in CGI. Nothing about that trailer was or seem in-game. Obviously when looking at that and then looking at the in-game footage of FM3, the difference is vast. As for GT5's trailer's, the comparison to it's in-game visual is identical. Video from the 458 in GT5 had in-game renderings. That I don't know for sure but I've already seen cars look as good as that 458 shot in GT5P anyway. So no, comparing it with that Audi is not as clever as you think, but at least it shows me how good GT5 is compared to the CGI version of FM3.

And no, the Forza 458 vid may not be in HD, but it is of high quality enough where differences between the HD and that is minimal at best. It's not like having the pic in HD will make it have drasticly better lighting to match that of GT5's.

LOL! 👍 Good catch. So that confirms it. PD and Turn 10 both having marketing lies. They (PD) did it with GT5p, now with GTPSP, and Turn 10 did it with FM2, and most likely FM3.

Oh well.

Good point. The GT5 458 video also doesn't say actual game footage either. Good call.
No, but it says, "Powered by Gran Turismo" which means the video is made using Gran Turismo 5's engine, which we've already seen through Prologue.

The trailer is not CGI, it is using the same engine we play GT5P on. It's just as much in-game as Forza's.

All ok, but still You miss my point, thers no sign that this is in game gtpsp , just the presentation of the ZR1 wich is ment to be in the game.

I refuse to believe that. I have stated numerous times over and over that the actual game we play with FM2 and GT5p looking NOTHING like their vids or screenshots.

I love how you cry foul over that pic ( and rightfully so ) but that pic of the GT 5 458 looks completely legit to you despite other pics from later in the trailer looking nowhere near as good.

LOL It's is so Obviously NOT from the PSP version. The point is their marketing department have absolutely no problem with lying through their teeth.

I trust ingame graphics. Not trailers.

Well, tough luck then.

Both games are running their engines to show off the 458. They may have a few bits of polishing (like any screenshot they show), but the fact is that we are looking both games showing what they are easily capable of.

Pre-rendered or in-engine?

Hey guys, just watch the mountains at the 1:18 - 1:20 and You can find this:

It's just marketing, why not use an hd image if you have it in hand? You just can't write its the actual game screen...

*sigh

That's because the lighting of its surroundings is different. Other footage showed the car outside in the track, in motion. That pic from GT5 was in a dark area with lightings from the outside, slowly crawling. If you look at the Audi CGI pic, it's also in a dark area where the lighting from its headlights can be demonstrated well. Take a car in GT5p through the tunnel in Eiger in a HDTV and tell me it's in a different quality.

Do you really think PD is dumb enough into trying to fool us that those shots were in-game footage for the psp? They've said multiple times that the psp is a much weaker system compared to that of the ps3. So if you think they actually try to convince us that the graphics in GTPSP is comparable to GT5, then you're really misunderstanding things.

The GT5 Ferrari 458 video looked like in-game footage to me - both the garage model and track model of the Ferrari 458 were shown.

If it wasn't - then PD was deliberately misleading by stating "Powered By Gran Turismo" at the start of the video. The press even mentions that both Polyphony Digital and Turn 10 are showcasing the Ferrari 458 using their respective game engines, so if that wasn't in-engine footage - something is amiss. :sly:

No. Those pics are not just "HD"

You make it sound like they took PSP pics but rendered them in HD. Not even close.

Those car models are 100% NOT at all the same car models used in GT PSP.

They used GT 5 car models and tried to pass them off as GT PSP car models.

You think that's OK? You think it's honest?

I really don't want to be the vigilante wannabe moderator here, but here goes - How about everyone just gives up on the Forza/GT 458 Italia tribute video comparisons, before it's too late. Let's keep this thread for discussing aspects of Gran Turismo 5's tribute video and if you want to do the same for Forza 3's tribute, there's a dedicated thread for the game here.

I for one was pleasantly surprised when I saw a link to this video. PD's cinematography is outstanding, not to mention the attention to detail on this model. I'm hoping we'll get to drive on these exciting roads winding through these hay plains in GT5. As I suggested in another thread, judging by the scenery, it appears to be set in Tuscany, just like the gravel roads we saw in the E3 trailer.

Hehe im not an idiot those are not gtpsp for sure! Its honest till they didnt say its gtpsp, thats my point.

Well, tough luck then.

Tough luck for the developers and publishers. They publish fabricated screenshots and videos. They always have and always will. I know better, and I buy the games anyway. PD and Turn10 are both guilty of it.

The thing is that both games are not using their engines to render the graphics. They are clearly ray-tracing rendered (that's why you see them perfectly clear with no aliasing at all) and no console, or personal computer for that matter, can hope to achieve this in real time.

Even though they are the game graphics and you can compare them, both games will look fuzzier and have aliasing when played.

The name of the article is.....

"New Corvette ZR1 Model Screenshots from GT PSP"

https://www.gtplanet.net/new-corvette-zr1-model-screenshots-from-gt-psp/

And then they post a bunch of pics that look like these.....

corvette-zr1-gtpsp-14.jpg

Do you believe even for a second that those are the car models found in GT PSP?

Also one of those cars is actually on a track truly from gameplay and the other is ....not.
well, this specific frame of the Forza car is not from gameplay. It is from the home/showroom/screenserver thing. So, better LOD, detail and stuff.

So You say both game studios make those videos separate from the game engine? That would be just a waste of time! Its the actual game engine just post procesed as hell.

If the engine is not rendering the graphics, why does it say, "Powered by Gran Turismo"?

We've seen what GT5P is capable of, so I don't know why the video is so hard to believe. Then again, a lot of folks in this section are pretty hard headed....

HOT DAMN!!! GT5 is amazing. DETAIL...DETAIL...DETAIL!

whats with the top pic?. white mesh and terrible lighting with awful unrealistic headlights.

why would Ferrari even allow that game them to portray their cars so pitifully??

PD should just go to these manufacturers and get exclusive deals after they show what a disservice other games do to their beautifully engineered creations
