Which Ferrari F1 car would you use?

those are pretty much the past and current F1 grand prix tracks of F1

we shouldn't be racing on non f1 grand prix tracks


and the points system should also be FIA pointing system

1st = 18 , 2nd = 15 , 3rd = 12 , 4th = 9 , 5th = 6 , 6th = 3

those should be the points system

if the 7 real f1 grand prix tracks are the ones then this would be atleast realistic when presented

the fastest laps should also be recorded at the end

each race I mean all F1 Grand Prix equal to 300 km+ meaning if we were to race in Suzuka Circuit it would be 53 laps , and a grand prix race in Monaco (Cote D'Azur) would be 75 laps


that would take more than an hour per race

but because this is an F1 world championship it should be done at the most realistic way

having a race with pedestrian 10 laps would be pointless , it should be the real laps of real gp tracks

and because theres many laps it would also be a good idea to have heavy damage and that will add to the pit stop strategies , just like in real life :P

For the tracks I just hope we stay true to the F1 tracks, and STAY AWAY from Laguna Seca, Trial Mountain, Deep forest, Highspeed Ring, Tsukuba, The Nordschleife(I love the Green Hell but in this cars it's just stupid!)...

Normally run: Manual, TC=0 except for start, and ABS=1 (although I've dabbled with 0); so I'm down for no helpers or ABS only. I think we should run manual, but if that limits the grid then auto allowed it is.

I am on the fence about this championship. I have wife and kid wild cards, and especially this sunday with my eldest's birthday. Obviously it would screw up chances of winning the whole thing, but would it throw off the entire thing if I missed a week or two. I don't want to just planning for the unplannable. I know reventon10 (Enzo309) wants full lap counts, but if we can keep the total time to around 45-1hr that I think would be a sweat spot for keeping up interest and realism. I do agree with full damage though. I have always wanted true pit strategy in an online race; so that would be cool.

I vote for all real F1 courses, but have no issue adding Madrid, or even Tskuba. I guess I don't care as long as it isn't an oval only course. Also, what are the thoughts on weather. I know the purists will want it all, but I don't see any entertainment value added with it in this case. That's just me.

Is the handicap that strong in favor of the F2007? I have trouble keeping up with reventon10 in his F10 at normal HP levels. If you drop the F2007 that much I'm toast. Tough $hit, I know, but is there some research behind that 680ish HP number. I only have an F2007; so I don't know the differences.

I tried this less formally when I had only the Formula GT. It was tough to organize on the spot; so even if I don't run with you guys good luck with the championship.

Monaco is 78 laps. And the points system IRL is 25, 18. 15 etc followinf your system

That's me. That did get a little late. So have we come to any consensus on the race schedule, assists, tracks, weather, handicapping, etc.

Has an officially sanctioned Stig taken both F10 and F2007 on 2-3 tracks to see what kind of lap time differences there. I have a tough time swallowing a 30-40 HP detune.

I have D-Unexpected on my PSN friend list.

Just told him anout the championchip yesterday, but Im not sure if he is familar with Gtplanet.

He is a pretty good driver though, he totally smoked me when we was having some fun with the F1 on Suzuka,

I hate the tiny shift buttons coming out of a hairpin, or anywhere for that matter.

I have plastic bits in the shape of shifter paddles ready to get put on, but I don't have the balls to drill into those buttons.

I don't have D-Unexpected friended, but if you go into the recently played option near friend/message menu (or something like that), you'll be able to find his id and send a message. Whether he gets it in time is another story. Man now I just fell another place in the standings. I seem to remember some fast lap times from him.
 
The pre season race I want to do on Sunday won't count for points, and yeah D-unexpected needs to get in here. He's the best I've ever seen. If there was a time trial Ferrari F1 seasonal, he's win or come top 10 FOR SURE. I watched him do 4:54 with no driving aids online against me on the Ring. I did 5:08 and was 20 seconds behind him at the end of the 2 lap race.

There's a couple others I wish I could get, like Starking7 and a user named Leybob... But anybody reading the flyer is free to get in ahead of those 3, since all I need right now is signups. F1 not the most popular on GT planet even though its the most popular sport in the world.

As far a' lap-time-differences between the F10 and F2007, I believe the 40 hp handicap is okay, although I shall run some laps in both cars at Suzuka. Remember that aerodynamic-drag increases exponentially with speed, meaning that 40 hp doesnt do much once your past 100 mph or so. Also, with less power your less likely to get wheelspin out of slow corners.

Also, I need some hot Ferrari woman to post on the flyer. If you know of some hot pics for the sign up page, send them to me and i'll use em.

Circuit de la Sarthe 2005 (likely some objections even though I like it. ;) )

As far as the length of pre-season. Likely 2 practice races this week and the next. I want a full 16 grid and we don't have that yet....

Offline Practice Results Suzuka Circuit:

F2007 *Full power (721 hp) 1:27.042
F2007 *reduced power (675 hp) 1:26.946
F2007 *reduced power (655 hp) 1:28.041

F10 *Full power (725 hp) 1:27.686

Indeed, the cars are slightly faster on slightly reduced power, due to reduced wheel spin out of the hairpin corner, and chicane. The F2007's power will be brought to 665 hp for the races at Suzuka. For other tracks, more testing will be done to determine whats most even. There generally seems to be 6 tenths difference offline, but I suspect the online diff is much larger, because the F10 always wants to spin online in my humble opinion, based on past failures racing it.
