I think laguna is a bad f1 track, I would add tokyo r246 an maybe grand valley. High speed ring would be an extremely fun track also but I would expect purists not to like it

Thanks for making me lose my focus by adding the hot chicks on the first post.

I suddenly want to take up motor boating.

What are your laptimes at suzuka? (any F1 car) in the F10 ive clocked 1.27.645, no assists using super soft tyres of course

I like the idea of having a couple of PD's fantasy tracks on the list, but Laguna Seca is a track alot of american racing fans dreamed of hosting an F1 race....Because of all the Champ Car battles that have been fought there.

On the previous page I posted some offline practice times, and determined the F2007's power limit based on comparisons. The F10 is about 6/10ths sec. off the F2007's pace at Suzuka...So F2007 will be limited to 660 hp which slows it down to around 1:27.8 offline, which is similar to the F10's hot lap.

Didn't he have all four off track when he made that pass. I thought that didn't fly.

So anyways I'm thinking of Tokyo and Trial Mountain to tack on a couple more tracks, maybe Grand Valley and Madrid. All the originals real world circuits would still stand. So 14 race season. How long is the Real F1 season? Is it 19 races? Do I dare make the championship that long....

AS far as Zanardi's pass...I dunno, lol. Maybe no. He was a great driver though. (I discourage dive bomb maneuvers during our races, and they will be penalized). ;)

Now a few things about the thread, i recommend putting the tracklist on the first thread so its easier to see the tracks for anyone that just flicks by. Also i'd would add the amount of laps. Looks like we are doing 1/2 GPs or is that just the pre-season? As for the current track list, its excellant but nurburgring and le mans would be unejoyable in these cars. As for the other proposed circuits, Tokyo will be very fun, especially first corner due to slipstream. Trial mountain is a personal fav of mine, grand valley is excellant and madrid is a must have because we need to have street circuits for it to feel like a true F1 season. Shame that Rome has no pit lane because that would be so fun. Eiger and Cape Ring would be good but the jumps are stupid.

Not yet, ya'll can chime in on what you want. I was thinking of

Suzuka
Fuji,
Indy road course
Monza
Nurburgring GP/F
The nordschleife 24 hour course (if there are no objections that is)
Côte d’Azur
Laguna Seca
Road Course – Daytona
Circuit de la Sarthe 2005 (likely some objections even though I like it. ;) )

As far as the length of pre-season. Likely 2 practice races this week and the next. I want a full 16 grid and we don't have that yet....

Only ones I'd remove are the Nurburg24 course and LaSarthe. Not really well suited for this cars. Grand Valley and Cape ring would be muchh better alternatives.

Are we testing this weekend?

i would be happy to test 7pm on Sunday. Also the clocks go forward saturday night at GMT so is that accounted for? if not then the races are an even better time for me. hehe. Anyway Grand valley is a must have. So is Madrid. And you were asking. F1 last year was 19 races. This year should be 20 but no Bahrain. I say aim for 12. No more than 15 because you will have rubbish tracks. The cape ring jump wrecks the ciruit but the south circuit is very fun to drive with an excellant last hairpin. It is very tight and short but because of the length of the circuit some people will disagree.

Yup, the Suzuka pre-season race will be 26 laps. Keep checking the front page (original post.) I've updated it to include the 1st race and the sign up list.

The tires on the F2007 are no problem I think (atleast offline), they'd go 30 laps. Car runs out of fuel at 27 laps or so. F10 is easier on tires, but its a non factor really because both cars are still running the same as fresh at the end of a run.

I've driven cape ring in the F2007. You get no air or little air on the jump, because of all the downforce. But I'd probably using a variation anyways.

like i say the south circuit is unbelievably fun to drive and race at.

Once We get about 5 more (full grid plus a little waiting list) I'll finalize the season races. I really wanted the Nordshliefe because of all the history, and the fact that its a real driver's track....I just dont know how many dont want it and how many do.

Does anybody know how I can post another poll on the same thread?

I imagine if he tried that move in GT5 he'd be blinking and idling after the corner. Gutsy ass move though.

Crap, moves like that are discouraged, that's all I do ;) I love late braking like that.

I'll try make the session on saturday. I may
miss some races in may and june because of exams but I will try.

Since there's only 13 odd people right now, it wont be required to do all the races. Once there is a waiting list, I will allow waiting list people to join in at 7 PM if the room isnt filled up. Thats when the qualifying will start, around 7 PM GMT or so...

This first pre-season race will be on Sunday. Practice will open around 6:15 GMT. Wont count for any points, just to get everybody in and racing so I know what to expect in the future.

sign me up for this series. looks like fun

psn: brandofo

Brandofo is in, Okay so just as a quick summary:

3 spots are open, 13 spots are taken
26 lap Suzuka Preseason race is on Sunday at 7:00 PM GMT (qualifying starts).
F2007 will go in first at 660 hp, the F10 will go in at full power (725 hp).

Grid Start with false start check, no parade lap.

So are you setting up a Private Lounge for this or Open Lobby?

I'll add all as friends, and then use my lounge. I want to try and get a couple more signups, so we'll do one more pre-season after this probably. The main thing is to follow the GTP rules when it comes to corner rights, hitting the braking zone and not running into the car in front, and not pulling out in front of other cars during qualifying and the race itself. If somebody in qualifying is on a flying lap, get out of their way by slowing down off the driving line. No "dive bombing" into the first turn at Suzuka either, thats really bad. If both cars cannot stay on track, its not okay.

let 1 of the races have real rain

and see who is the rain master , after all every season in formula 1 there is atleast 1 or 2 that rains at the most extreme condition.

rain in suzuka would be a good idea , not monza though because you wouldn't really see the "rain master".

:)

you can't restrict ferrari F1's HP and the F2007 in GT5 corners similar to the X1, ive seen F2007's be a lot quicker on some corners than the real F2007 in Suzuka with Kimi Raikkonen's lap , but the F2007 takes no skill at all to drive its just like an X1 you just have to memorize what you do and you will keep doing the same thing over and over again and its just a rinse and repeat procedure its not like the F10 where its unpredictable on every single thing you do. Both cars are opposite in difficulty which also means to drive a real F1 car which is the F10 you'd have to have a real F1 driver's motivation.

it will be very interesting to see a real wet race , the F10 would be almost impossible in the rain but lets see what happens

Thats true I know a quick F2007 driver D-UNEXPECTED001 he knows car settings very well he is like a real mechanic or maybe just been customizing since the old GT's although he uses Duct view (bumper view) which is by far not a hint close to the real cockpit view which views so low and he uses rev instrument bar that guide you on braking which I do not use but other than that he is a quick driver , he uses Automatic and ABS which I do not because in real F1 such things do not exist but that really does make it even a more "rinse and repeat" car.

but anyway the F2007 you can go at any corner and at even higher speeds and there wont be any fear to it thats why it is very true on the rinse and repeat procedure , you just keep repeating what you do everytime you drive on the F2007 and that makes it quick and because theres not a million peer pressure youd be getting from an F10 its a million easier that makes it a piece of cake on a piece of pie :D its so easy you just keep doing the same thing again and again there would be no effort and that makes it pretty quick.

Im not a driver designed to do rinse and repeats , Im driving to reality.

If you ask me why I use the F10 its because I like it more and its more driver influenced just like in the real world , its prettier to me and the most important thing is that its realistic.

Yes the F10 is quite in a different level in the rain but thats the reality of it , but driving in rain is definitely going to be interesting

I like the rain idea, and yeah I'll use rain at Suzuka during the regular season. No I wont use it this time because its our first race.

I understand that the F2007 is easy to drive compared to the F10. And DAMN AM I PI$$ED THAT YOU CANNOT LOWER THE POWER ON THE FERRARI F1 online. It lets you do it offline, wtf......

I've done 1:01 at Suzuka in the Red Bull X2010. I've done 1:26.9 in the F2007. Yes PD did not use a cutting edge real world Physics engine like rFactor, i racing, and other top simulators. Its their damn fault they want money and a sub-optimal game over a great simulator and little money. Sex and money make the world go round, thats the way its always been. I cant make the F2007 drive like it does in r factor, I wish I could.

All in all, GT5 physics are much better than GT4's were. So thats what I've got, and I cant do any better. Yes, you cant limit the power on the Ferrari F1s online, you guys were right and I was wrong. Whichever smart guy at PD responsible for not being able to do it online, yet do it offline needs to be caned. And I did not mean canned.

We'll still go, we might have to run a 2 championship battle. One for the F10s and one for the F2007s. The diff is almost 1 second lap between the 2. I'm speechless, lol. All I'll say is you can use whichever you want/have.

i reccomend an open loumge as the tyres dont warm properly in a private loungs. 2 secs slower a lap

How about F2007 can't use any assists but F10 can use abs and automatic?

if any spots are open id really like to join up

PSN: FakeGangstaDIE or GTP_NJ_CAM

I would be up for this 100%. Where do I sign? Just not this week. From next Sunday on i'm your man.

Just leave your PSN on the thread here.

Oh really. What a bunch of BS, PD. That's obscene.... I might do the open lobby. I'll open it up around 6:00 GMT. Qualifying at 7 PM GMT as advertised.

Yeah....I dont want to turn anybody off by adding assists to the F10. To even the laps I'd really have to turn SRF on the F10. And STILL, the F2007 might be a bit quicker. We'll just have to have seperate winners, one in the F10 category and one in the F2007 cat. Sort of like a LMP and GT thing. I may turn ABS off for the F2007, the thing has a $hitload of grip regardless, locking em up is almost makes you giggle rather than crash.
