Artmann lagging badly, lol.

No wonder I got rear ended, my car was lagging as well (I'm the one in 4th going into the first chicane). Hopefully the 'new' PSN is more stable

It does seem to be a fair bit better. I did some Nascar races @ Daytona which are notorious lag-nests & it wasnt as bad as it usually is. We even had 2 lines going for a while.

I need to know if you guys are willing to race @ 10 PM GMT, so I can do the Indy 500 then this. Otherwise I'm going to skip The Indy 500 so we can do the F1 race @ Nurburgring finally after 4 weeks. I've signed up for too many races. I'm trigger happy.

Havent heard from Artmann since PSN has come back up. Is he still alive? Does he have a PS3 still? :scared:

Is it only this weekend? Changing the time might not work well with the network just getting back online. As you said, it may be hard getting the regulars to show at the normal time. That, and the GMT has been known to mess up people (me too). So you are proposing 4PM CDT? I think that would be fine for me (for this weekend).

Yeah I think I'll just keep it at the same time. :sly:

I hope somebody shows up. :ouch:

I can't come on Sunday with the same time as before

Since the times we race are around 12 pm here in Canada British Columbia

If the time is moved further than original then I might be able to come

Anyway I hate to miss another race so if that does happen I'll just be watching you guys

It's the 1st season anyway , regulations are not so serious yet

What time do you want to start Enzo? I can open it up at the usual then wait a bit....

A lot later than the current time like +3 hours

I'll try and race, but I've got exams next week so I may still be revising. Should be an interesting race, after 4 weeks some people might be a bit rusty with the F1's.

I'm going to open the room up at the usual time guys, 6:30 PM GMT, and we'll start quali a bit late at around 7:15 GMT to try and get some more in, perhaps D-UNEXPECTED & a couple others.

33 lap feature race (160 km) worth points..... And then maybe some messing around after than at some other tracks just for fun.

Also on turn four or five there is some runnoff room is that legal, par the rules set out here? I think the fia considers it part of the track.

Here is Raikkonen's 2007 pole position lap, the part I am talking about is at 35 seconds into the video. You can clearly see all 4 tires are over the line.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VK9lDhYFulQ

yes but nothing over the kerb

over the line for sure because after the kerb it leads you to that line.

Have we come to a consensus about this. I was getting killed Saturday night by some who use runoff this way (would have lost anyway, but not as badly). Are we penalizing serial use of runoff on these corners? What about qualify? Almost have to honor system it, but that is kinda bunk. We can't have Rich policing both and not getting that time to drive, that's not fair either.

During the qauli you can use the extra run-off on that fast left hander towards the end before the right hander and back-strait. It will be liberal in quali since I cant check a quali replay.

During the race NO YOU CANT use any of the run-off apart from the turn 4 section, where you can put 4 wheels over. I will check the replay to make sure nobody uses any of it other than turn 4.

Also make sure you have RACE MEDIUMS for your F2007s. You'll be using those. F10 on softs. In reality the F2007 would likely be equal on HARDS for this track but I cant change the rules at the last minute.

D-UNEXPECTED only uses Automatic that's why he is not qualified.

3 people violated the abs rule during qualifying, I can't comment on during the race as I could not see the settings. The violators were, the guy who quit, Leedona who had his on 10. His results should not count, even though he did not finish. The other two were mustardaddict and endless, who both had abs on 2. This is not a severe violation, but a violation of the rules laid out in the first page never the less. I am assuming the violation continued during the race as none of the violators went back to change their setting after qualifying.

My opinion is that both endless and mustard should have a 20 sec penalty added to their total race time. Which is a fairly minor penalty. This does not change my finishing position (so I am not saying this so I finish in a better position), but it would change who won. At the very minimum a 5 or a 10 second penalty is in order.

Couple issues: The first corner incident with Leedona & Endless
The ABS: Not a big deal.....

ABS can be adjusted on the fly using wheel settings.... Its something however that makes no difference in lap times. I am not a nazi when it comes to penalties. The fastest guys in the GT time trials & Academy all use a setting of ABS 1 when ABS 2-10 are options. Its not a performance enhancer.....

Yes I used 2 ABS, yes I could give Artmann the win and penalize myself. A 20 second penalty? I think not. I might have very well gone even faster with ABS 1. Instead of choosing my own fate, I'd like Tool, Artmann, Endless, monster to weigh in since we do not have stewards nor an official race organization.

If the majority want to relegate me than so be it. We shall see.

As far as the first lap incident, I have not looked at it. I will by the end of the week and get some official results by next Saturday.

i just baically forgot it was on 2 one setting doesnt really change the feel much but iit was 2 late cuz realised
it by the time the race started

i didnt nothing in the 1st corner it was 4 or 5 i hit leedona , it was in a stait line under braking , i was surprised by the reaction of his car youll need 2 look at , all i can say is mistakes happen and i feel bad it did i miss juged his brakinng and wasnt quit on the ball 2 realise it.

It really does not matter, the rule was violated. How much time was gained by the violation is not clear. If the rules are not going to be upheld there is no point in having the rules in the first place.

On lap 3 I was spun in sector one(* edit), I must have a bad memory, watched first five laps, saw no incidents.

Whats your PSN name again?

Oooo drama. It's so good to be able to have this discussion.

The front page does clearly state no ABS above 1. It's been pretty constant for a bit now. What am I telling Rich for he made the rule. Some penalty is due, but unless there are other issues with the two drivers in question I'd just give an X sec penalty that doesn't alter the finishing order. X being, say 5-10s. I don't remember how much Mustard won by.

As far as ABS goes. I don't remember what D-Unexp. had for ABS (1 or 2) when driving Nurb GP with me on Saturday night. His braking point was 30-40m farther up than mine (from replay). That has to have an effect as long as it's controlled. Then again he loves the runoff. So that helped too.

I thought I got blasted by Leedonna in turn 1. The first replay I saw was inconclusive, but either way it doesn't matter. My consecutive spinouts midway through sealed my fate.

nayrswehtam

I cite the Australian GP as a similar case, both the Saubers drivers were found to have had rear wings that violated the rules. The violation in this case did not help them, but they were both given DQs.

besides the incedent with leedona i had a clean race had no off's and only 1 spin

My pit stop strategy was horrible, I waited to pit until lap 30, at about 20 my lap times were 2 seconds slower then they with new tires. A bonehead move on my part.

i pitted pretty well on lap 16 which put me right behind Rich but my tires where gone by lap 30 so ye.. i was hoping 2 pit at 20-22 tho

I thought the race was now but I guess it's done.

I just read the ABS issue , not really sure how abs scale 1-10 works but I think in corner braking it does make a difference. Everyone knows I don't use ABS cause I'm a realistic driver but ABS does make you go faster with maximum braking power on any kind of corner and also saves your tyres , although it's very unrealistic especially unrealistically easy to brake with ABS because in real F1 if you go with 100% braking power you'd lock the wheels and spin for every single medium/low speed corner or chicane but in GT5 abs does make it possible to have 100% braking power at the ease.

But it's important to go by the book all the time , and if you don't follow the rules , the real fia punishment is very unforgiving when it comes to driver violations and even double the effect to violations mechanically , your points for that race could literally be wiped for that occasion.

I won't be able to join any of the next races anymore because I'm at church during the event.

i think a -5 deducted from your championship standings point would be decent punishment or just 1-5 points it up 2 u guy's whats desided this just my idea

I'll take a 7 point deduction for the silly ABS. I'll give it to Artmann....

I havent checked out the Leedona incident. I might give endless a 2 place deduction for ABS+wreckless driving....that is if it turns out he hit Leedona hard enough.

Hang on, i watched that replay on the 1st corner and i think it was all leedonna's fault. He started right at the back of the grid, made some really stupid and optimistic moves. He went on the far inside line, realized that the turn was too tight so he then tried to go on the outside, thereby hitting Toolo4sno who then in turn hit me on the side and i narrowly missed hitting TheDrummingKING. So for me its a no brainer, i looked at it from all the other drivers' cameras and there was nothing they could do because their cars had momemntum from getting banged by leedonna who, in my opinion, had nothing to lose and risked it all at the first corner as he had started last. By turn two, he was just behind mustard!!!!! you dont need a rocket scientist to tell you who gained the most out of this and who should be punished severely.

On the ABS issue, i only use the default, which is 1, so i do not know whether you gain or lose time by having it higher than 1 so i cannot comment on that. But deducting 7 points is a bit too steep as this will affect your championship challenge. I think it was a mistake that you made at that race so you should maybe deduct a few seconds from your overall time. Again, its just a suggestion but i feel like it wouldn't have made much of a difference in your performance.
