I'm likely going to miss what is now the 7/17 race.

The "7/3" race is next..... We can postpone 7/17 if you want. :(

I may be gone on the 10th of July....maybe not we;ll see. We may have to finish this series off in September. I have something going on in August, I wont be online all of August after the 6th.......Until very late in the month or early Sep.

I'm gonna log on in an hour or so and open it up...

Ok, thats the last race, hardly anybody showed (4 people). So I will tack on the points and thats the championship. Thanks to all who took interest.

 :banghead:

Artmann you won. :sly:

That was kind of anti-climactic.

I might start a Formula GT championship in the near future. I need something to fill the void. Sadly this was the most exciting thing I had going on (aside from keeping children from accidentally killing themselves). Kind of a bummer we couldn't get a consistent crowd. I does seem as though it's hard to keep one of these going during a busy summer. I know my July is jammed packed.

It seems like I was always the bridesmaid and never the bride in this thing. FOUR SECOND PLACE FINISHES OUT OF SIX, AHHHH. Yes I am complaining. F*&% consistency! I want a win. Two of those second place finishes were behind non-regulars.

I feel like the Buffalo Bills. For our European gamers, the Buffalo Bills lost 4 consecutive Super Bowls.

At least you were on the pace toolo :grumpy:
Perhaps Mustard can just run some non championship Ferrari F1 races running the same regs.

This guys series of races uses knock out qualifying sessions. Who thinks adding that would have had a positive or a negative effect on our league? I remember a lot of complaints after qualifying about a worse than expected starting spot. Maybe if qualifying and the race weren't 40s apart you could know what to expect and collect yourself. Not that it matters after turn 1 madness anyway. The whole thing sounds difficult to implement, but interesting. You'd have to have at least the host on bluetooth.

It depends on the total number of participants. If there are only 8-10 people then knock out qualifying makes no sense, but if there are at least 14, then it does. I have done races with knock out qualifying in rfactor, and it really wasn't hard to implement, as long as everyone cooperatives.

I'll be gone for most of August. I'll play from time to time the next few weeks though....

If F1 2011 is any good I might track down the same people and try to do an F1 championship using that game. If its like F1 2010 where there's no Force feedback & the car has steel brakes then we wont do it, we'll just use GT5 again, hopefully with the "winter crowd" going full swing.

I'm hoping for some DLC, the F2004 & some new tracks. Again, hoping F1 2011 is a bit more of an effort from a physical perspective. 2010 was pretty weak realism wise.

Yeah I'd like to get 24 going on F1 2011, and have Q1, Q2, Q3. :) We'll see how many people are playing in the fall/early winter.

I too, would like to join.
PSN: ghskilla
Time Zone:PST
Car: F2007

Note: I am decent-good at F1 racing in Gran Turismo. I have a fairly hard time on overtaking in places like Monaco, but I am very friendly and mature for my age. I might not use a microphone but I have a keyboard. I use manual and I don't use ABS. I've been racing in F1 lobbies for a monnth now, and would like to put my skills to the limit. I also use controller. Message me when you can, thanks.

The season is over.

Hmm, too late for me haha. When does next season start?

No one has picked up the reigns of running the thing. Plus once summer hit we all kind of drifted. It would be nice to have another series at around the same time on Sundays.

So it looks like Downloadable content is coming to GT5.......As soon as the crew moves to Fukuoka that is.....common hurry the heck up, LOL. If so then that may "revive" this dusty old series with another run.

F1 2011 will be a game I'll have to play a bit before deciding whether its reasonable to have a series on. It should be out by fall.

GT5 has my favorite "engine" when it comes to physics on a TV gaming counsel...

I have f1 2010 , the driving physics from the car to the ground is very lazy and the steering is also irresponsive but I have it to have fun on the tracks and the damage is nice. I watched f1 2011 on YouTube , they say the physics are improved and you'd have to attack the corners differently but still from F1 2010 and feels way too lazy , improve will make a difference but i don't think it will be so genuine. I haven't heard of driving in the pit stop but for sure it will be fun with Kers and drs.

I wish gt5 had the same damage modeling :/ and Kers+DRS :D As downloadable content , even though the real f10 or f2007 didn't have those , I think it's still better :) but I fear that the f2007 can do corners with DRS activated :D

I hope they fix and make accurate tyre wears by using pirelli data

And I hope they release supersofts in GT5 not GT6 :)

OK so this is the new game looks like....Hopefully the online will be funtional with reasonable physics. :sly:

I;d like to get the old crew over to that game, although, Leyba08 mentioned it the other night.

When do you guys race, and when is the next season start?

This is an old championship from earlier in the year. I'm toying with the idea of getting some of the same people from the old series onto the new game F1 2011, to run a championship. 💡

The new F1 2011 game looks to have improved.... I'm seeing if I cant convert some over to it so we can start a championship.

I have finished editing the Suzuka weather race from June. It is 1hr 14m long in its entirety. I'm contemplating cutting it up into five 15 min (Youtube limit) sections and putting the whole race up. Maybe throw some comments in on who is shown in each section. Or do I make 1-2 highlight videos. It may be easier to cut it into five pieces. Not sure yet, input will be taken under consideration. I'm trying to get it out for Japanese GP weekend, but a business trip is hampering that.

Gawd that race was horribly difficult.

reventon's DNF being the main highlight and only good part. :sly:

I dont really know what to do, keep playing GT5 or move on to F1 2011 at some point.

Since this is the main racing game for PS3 I'll probably stick to GT5 and maybe try the next GT Academy if they have another one. With a drivable Academy car I can see myself making the final 16. With a difficult car like the SLS AMG I can hardly crack top 50-100.

We;ll see what Spec 2.0 brings. If its good stuff then I can stave off the F1 incarnation with its poor visibility & mediocre online scene.

DrummingKing begged for it (back in the day) to be put on Youtube. I started rendering the whole thing this morning at 5AM. 30 hours later the full race will be done. Then I will divide it into 5 15 minute sections for Youtube. It's possible it will all be up by Sunday's actual Suzuka race. Most of it should be.

I don't want to get too excited and start assuming too much about Spec 2, but I believe the Formula GT car will have an interior view now. Hopefully with functional mirrors. That will be awesome.

I can't get into F1'11 yet. It just isn't as polished as GT5. I have no idea what an F1 car feels like for real, but F1'11 seems to arcade-like with my wheel. Not a ton of feedback or wheel weight. I hope a patch will fix my issues with it. I always thought GT5 didn't value my time with slow menus and an aesthetic look or function, but F1'11 has a lot of loading time. Sure they show you your stats, but it seems to take forever to go from race to race online. Then again if the DLC for GT5 has anymore F1 tracks, then I won't really need F1'11 at all. I don't mind the limited F1 cars in GT5. Yeah it would be nice to have more, but I'll live.

I'm so mad, I forgot to crop it. Dohh!! Anyway, Youtube has stated my account is elligible for video ULs longer that 15min. So, I am currently uploading all 1h10+m of video and we'll see what happens.

Hey guys. Even though this event looks like its long gone id like to post about my interest in joining, if you have another season of course.

Cheers.

I'm not sure what is going on with a new series. Mustard was waiting for Fall/Winter.

I got the full Suzuka Race up. I apparently don't have a time limit for my uploads anymore. I threw the full Monza race up there too for good measure.

I'll check it out. :)

And also, I wouldn't mind doing another season (on GT5 of course). :D
