Ferrari SF15-T launch

I do wonder if them having Vettel is somewhat dependent on him being the second coming of Schumacher; as in they're hoping he gets them out of their funk.

To be honest? If Alonso couldn't do it then I just don't see it happening, especially considering how Vettel reacts when things aren't going his way.

so is it actually a long nose or is it just the angle of the pics?

I can't see any real difference to the other cars!

So Ferrari has gone from the Vacuum cleaner to the Duck face. Its kinda an improvement.

They're just targeting two races? Two?

Not sure if depressing or... no, it's depressing.

Well at least its not an unrealistic goal, you'll never know when Maldonado does his impression of a bowling ball on the Mercedes cars.

Rebuilding a team takes time, and Ferrari have floundered with uncompetitive cars and an underpowered engine. Targeting two race wins might sound galling, but it's realistic. They're not going to bounce back to the height of their powers overnight.

Arrivabene is saying it's a realistic target, but this new car is built for Kimi's strengths
Honestly, that just sounds like publicocrap to me - sure, Raikkonen struggled in 2014, but the gap to Alonso was so great that there's no way that Raikkonen's struggles were purely down to the car. It was the single worst performance by a Ferrari driver since Ivan Capelli. If the team had been able to keep Alonso, Raikkonen would likely be unemployed right now.

I have a question, and one I have when anyone does this, why are the wheels a different design from front to back?

That aside, car looks decent to me. I can't believe I'm about to say this, but that's still too much black. I know it 'aint happening, but I'd like to either see the black and white inverted, or a red car with yellow.

Front axle is apparently a "blown axle" design. So air brought it from the brake duct also exits around the wheel nut.

For Ferrari's history it is
but would be better than 2014 zero.
Won't be easy though. Lewis will win another title, Rosberg will win at least 4/5 races, Redbull won't give up an inch, Alonso want to prove a point and Lotus did a decent car this year. Heck in Melbourne I expect.. guess what.. a 5th place in the starting grid.

Which joke? Honda engine? I got the joke. ;)

Maybe Sebastian today wasn't joking. Maybe he can go for a Melbourne podium.
Optimism.

Well of course you'd think that about the times put out by testing, then again you were never one to be all that right about F1 seasons.

The SF15-T is very looooong:

Vettel also seems to be sitting unusually far forward, and quite high in the car.

Does anyone else feel like that car looks little in that shot? Maybe its just how High Sebastian's head is sitting, but it looks tiny.

Indeed. I think they moved driver seat forward in order to give more wight to pull-rod suspensions maybe balancing the car. Pull-rod tend to be stiffier than push-rod. More weight to the front could make sense somehow.

I hope to be completely wrong since I'm going to say it will be another MB parade, with some artificial drama between Nico and Lewis to brighten up a bit.

A white helmet with a German Flag? HE'S STEALING SCHUMACHER'S HELMET DESIGN!!!!

You can't even do something simple without morons accusing you of "stealing" something.

Besides shouldn't it be considered like a nod to Schumacher/a salute to him? Especially from a fellow countryman?

At the very least, yes. Even so, Schumacher's helmet had the flag stripe down the center and 180 from Vettel's. Also, claiming that the very same shade of red is being used.. that tends to happen when they use the same helmet painter and they're using the shade of red from the modern colored German flag.

The black bottom makes it looks like one of the backmarkers from not so long ago.

Terrible.

The other problem is that if you designed the rules with this concept in mind, Ferrari would be one of the first teams to look at the alternative design options....
