Race at Red Bull Ring was a lot of fun and for me every lap was action packed just about lol. I had a very poor qualifying session, looking at the times I could've managed 2nd on average pace. I gambled on burning fuel and relying on one quick lap at the end, but I picked up snap oversteer in S2 pushing too hard on my lap where I lost a lot of time. I knew that qualifying in 7th, I would have a lot of racing to look forward to.
Starting the race I knew that I had to gain positions quickly to have any chance of the win, so I was prepared to gamble on an ambitious overtake at the start. My main highlight of the race was at T2 on lap 1 where I went down the inside of Kossu and Pubs, unfortunately fili had also lost it on exit so I managed to gain 3 places very quickly from 7th to 4th. From there I had to catch up to the back of Eol, Agro and Sken where we had a nice battle for a few laps. Sken then had a moment which let us by and I then had a great fight with Eol for a few laps. Agro was a couple of seconds ahead and I had to work my tyres a lot in the first stint to get up to 2nd. I then decided to go for the undercut which worked and I managed to lead the race for a reasonable period, where I was battling with Agro for many laps.
My tyre wear at RBR was dreadful so I decided to pit once my tyres were down to 4's, to prevent any mistakes running wide etc. Around the half way mark, after I pitted I exited near to Sken where we had an amazing battle for a good lap or so. We were side by side, mm's apart through S2 and S3. The last turn was really amazing, looking forward to the replay on that one. Hopefully you should find it easily Karsten, do you remember the lap

From then on, I knew that my setup wasn't as good as Eol or Agro's to look after tyres; so I decided to put in qualifying laps and accept an additional stop which gave me the advantage of ensuring I had enough fuel. So that if Agro or Eol ran out or needed another stop, I could overtake them and hopefully win. That never happened though lol
but looking at the replay they were both on fumes, so it almost worked
I had a lot of fun catching up with Pubs after my final stop, I had fresh tyres and fighting to get on the podium so I was pushing 100%. I was catching up with him pretty quickly but with 3 laps to go I ran a little bit wide as my tyres were starting to go off and lost the rear, losing a few seconds. I knew from that point that Pubs would probably pick up the podium and he deserved it as he didn't crumble under pressure. Unfortunately he had to pit for fuel, and luckily for me I picked up the 3rd place. In all honesty, that was my minimum target for the race so it wasn't a complete disaster for me.
@Pubs16 has been really impressive over the past few races.
Tbh I enjoy a race where I'm fighting closely with lots of cars rather than up front
but the points aren't there

@Pedroeol drove a fantastic race and thoroughly deserved the win, I really don't know how he managed to keep his tyres in shape for such a long time yet maintain a great pace; really well done mate
