i think this could go down to about 10mins 50 seconds.
How clean was that 11"02' lap ? Have you got it on video ? I would really like to see how your lines are different from mines, and what speed you get in some places. I managed an 11"15' 100% clean lap and can't see where I would be able to get rid of 13 seconds, seeing what you did would help.

Unfortunately i dont have a video - i knew i should have saved it, not sure if i can post a video anyway because i dont know how :) It was an ok lap i didnt have any major off or anything but i found the gears to be the biggest problem, keeping the car at certain revs in certain gears helped me get faster times. The will to change gear as you normally would goes out the window as sometimes its easyer to hold 3rd gear for a bit longer than change up and you save lots of speed when you come to a corner instead of changing down 2 gears etc etc. I did it in Aspec mode too instead of arcade so maybe the tyres are different? not sure, i just used a standard fiat panda i purchased from the used car dealer and did an oil change, thats it.

I will get back to you on this

I agree, the gearbox is far from great ! I most of the time hold a gear up to 5500rpms max (max power is at 5250rpms), it does not seem that much is gained after that. I hold on the same gear to the red line only if it allows me to get to the next braking point.

There are a couple of places where I could be faster, I need to get more precise braking and steering points, but I won't get 13 seconds out of these !

Try this;

Buy the most ugly car available (assuming you don't own it because then it's just pathetic, or it should be to make a point. Something like; I wonna own all the cars available!!!! right......) Anyway, buy it, don't pimp it, keep it stock, then take this piece of **** to Nur.

You will laugh your behind of, but you shouldn't feel emberassed when you have to take one or two hills in reverse, cause 1st gear doesn't really clear this.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Not the 98 Midget 2 D type (Can't believe they made a sequel?!?) I'am talking about the 63 version!

Good luck!

Err sorry to Piss on your bonfire matey but were sort of one step ahead of you! were talking about fiat pandas but there is a whole thread dedicated to cars with under 30 or 40 bhp round the nurburgring! Cant find it for some reason though :odd:

the thread you're refering to is in the Race Reports page, where this one should be as well. Anyhow, I had a go with the Panda on the 'ring as well. Total time of 11'17.046, with a top speed of 163 kph, which I got just before Adenauer Forst. I don't have a replay or picture to prove it though. I did it on a *ahem* flying lap, in a Family Cup. Sadly, I finished the race second, since I was up against a Dodge RAM :grumpy:
