Finally Discovered Why I Don't Like GT5

You need to take the M$ kneepads off and stop with the Forza Defense Force act. It really does look embarrassing seeing some grown men defend games like kids used to defend whether Batman was better than Superman.

Just watch the movies. Superman is super cheezy. He's almost as cheesy as Captain Planet.

I would be cool if they would make one with Superman vs. Doomsday...

I wasn't sugesting that people make the choice between buying a console or putting food on the table. Just making the point that there are lots of things in life that people spend money on and to me the idea of buying two consoles that do pretty much the exact same thing and two games that do pretty much the exact same thing is just silly. Your spending hundreds of extra dollars to do the same thing just with a different name on the box.

Hey if you have so much disposable income that it's not an issue to you then great.

But the suggestion was that if your a fan of racing games then you should have every game on every platform. Yeah that's great if you have the money for it. But in the real world with mortgages and other bills that's not an option for lots of us.

There is nothing wrong with sticking with one favoured fanchise on one platform. It doesn't make anybody less of a racing fan.

Not going to bother to explain because if you didn't get it the first time what's the use. Couldn't have been simpler.

But, I want to clarify. RUF does not equal Porsche. I' a huge Porsche fan, and while it doesn't prevent me from enjoying the game, I would love it if they were included. No amount of RUF's can make up for missing classic 911's, 917's, 914's ect. While they are indeed very similar, declaring them the same thing is just ignorant. It's kind of like saying a Mine's Evo could totally replace Mitsubishi in GT5. And while RUF is great and all, the implementation is terrible. Not a single premium RUF, and no new ones since GT3. Me and my six-cylinder friends are not feeling the love.

This is probably the best comment in this thread. Glad someone can step above the bickering and also not insult the OP who posted something he was passionate about just like any other rant thread.
 
Far out! Just let this thread die. I cant beleive its still here. Its been 100% in the spotlight since it was made just 1-2 days ago and it has 8 pages already. And all it is is someone simply saying they hate the game because Porche isnt it, not to mention its an issue PD can do nothing about!

Its not because I dont like people expressing their opinion, at all.
I just think it reflects poorly on perceived community opinion about GTP.

I think to myself, on the astronomically rare chance, imagine PD glancing at these forums thinking 'hmm lets see what is the most popular reason people dont like our game...Wow, because porche isnt in it, let never pay attention to these people again" Which is a shame because there are some really great ideas and genuinely good complaints here.

Its a liscencing issue. If porche could be in gt5 it could. If some guy decided not to play gt5 because of it thats unfourtunate but also unavoidable, and no amount of discussion will change that.

Talk about actual issues that are within PDs control.

This is the same as me starting a thread

"I discovered why I dont like GT5! Because its on blu-ray, I would rather have a 4 DVD set"

If PD were to get these 2 complains, they would both make an equal ammount of sense to them.

I'm sorry but what? GT5 not worth getting a wheel for?.....Man your out of your mind, GT5 is an entirely different ball game when it comes to a good wheel, Many people including the most highly credible simulation website on the planet.(insidesimracingracing.)Has stressed this quite alot.
 
I agree, if I was Kaz I would happily put in Porsche and take out the entire Nissan fleet if it meant Porsche could be in the game.👍
 
I'm annoyed at the fact Porsche isn't in the game. But equally annoyed about the following not being in the game either: Vector, Venturi, Koenigsegg, Tommy Kaira, etc etc.

It does slightly ruin the game for me, but has done in every GT game they haven't been in, so its nothing new.

I want to hear, straight from Kaz about WHY they aren't in the game. But i never expect that to happen.

I suggest that, when you get your driver's license, you somehow arrange to drive someone's 911. Then come back and edit your post... (Keeping the engine in the back of their flagship car is the single best decision Porsche ever made.)

As one of my mentors once said: everyone has to own and drive a Porsche at one point in his life. Now, I haven't been lucky enough to reach that point in life yet. :)

Anyway... After the long history and evolution of the 911, it is ludicrous to claim that the RR setup is still some sort of failed experiment. It's unique, yes, but it is also refined to the point where Porsches are the cream of the crop when it comes to drivability on the track AND on the road.

I thought I'd reached that point in my life last year when a friend broke both his arms in a motorbike crash and needed his Porsche moving for him from Crawley to Rye (75 Mles on some of the best driving roads in the country). I'd never seen his Porker as it was a new aquisition for him and was his pride and joy.

I picked up his keys from him while he was in his hospital bed and with great excitment headed to his house to get the car moved and was faced with this:

Now in my 19years of driving experience including Tracked vehicles in the Military, Trucks as a long distance truck driver and Ambulances in my current career in the ambulance service I can honestly say I have never had a worse, more scary driving experience that I di driving that Heap of junk 944!

It had a 3 speed Automatic!
The Brakes worked........sometimes
The Electric window on the passenger side worked....if you pressed the top left corner of the button really hard. The Drivers side window dodn't work at all.

To top it off I could actually feel the hatred from other road users.

Boys tried to race me....and all won even in their crappy Saxo's

And No-one ever let me out at any junctions

I couldn't wait to get rid of it.

That's a good point. I seen many Wii fans happy NTG 2011 is coming out for their system since they claim they can't afford to buy another console. I would hate to have Wii only to race NTG (no online)yet just because they can't afford another console doesn't mean they are less of a Nascar fan.
A X360, Gt2 wheel and Forza 3 is very costly even for some racing fans. Unless you have a lot of money to blow I agree with you it not really worth it. (I,m one who did have money to blow to get fm3)

I've driven a lot of different Porsches, and they are a lot of fun to drive, except the '80 and early '90 models, those cars just had to much power on their skinny wheels..

One fine saturday, while at work, I finished my work on a Porsche, took it out for a test drive, and at the ridiculous speed of 30mph/50kph in a very dull corner I lost control, don't know why, and this was the result 👍

Agreed and very well said! I just try to make the best of what we have and I appreciate having the RUF's in GT5. If you tune the RUF's properly, they can come close to Porsche. The key word there is "close"... not exact.

I've just discovered why too. Simple... It's s**t! 100% pure garbage! Not one thing about this game would you say "wow" at! I'd be SERIOUSLY embarassed if I had made this game. Let alone if I'd taken 6years to do so! HAhaahhaahhaha, if I don't laugh I will cry!
