And my laptop has this handy invention called
A KEYBOARD!!
Look at me..

more than 1 word per minute

250 bucks for a nerd-pad that isn't that practical at all..
Sorry but i'd rather
A: buy alchohol
B: Go out to dinner for a week
C: Go BUY 25+ DVD's
D: Go buy 2 consoles
E: Buy clothes
F: any # of other things that arn't as gay

Some people called Laptops nerd things, plus its a gaming handheld which is not classed as a nerd thing since lots of different kinds of people play vid games.

You can't play GT4 on a Laptop, or many other games in fact, you can't take one with you all the time, PSP's a lot cheaper, but you don't get the usability that you get with a Laptop I know, but what do you buy a PSP for, GAMEING. It won't have problems like with PC's and you can play a lot of games which you can't even play on PC like I said above.

Also PSP weighs less then a laptop takes up less space, plus the UMD format is smaller and weighs less then CD's or DVD's.

Yeah and my fingers hurt after playing 2hours on my PSP.. Don't they have anything against this? Caus Logitech Playgear suck..

And you suck to if you just buy a game handheld for watching movies on it and go chatting on WIFI.. Damn, come on, PSP IS FOR GAMING PEOPLE!!!! When I go to bed, I take my PSP and my laptop with me.. PSP for gaming, laptop for wireless internet..

For the kid that can't afford a laptop, browsing the net with his/her psp can be pretty damn cool. Just because it's not cool for you, a lot of other people think it's pretty darn neat to be able to check their email after playing a round or two on their hand held. I upgraded both mine and my son's psp and did some browsing last night. This will not be a computer replacement by any means, but it was still cool. I haven't done it yet, but I read somewhere that you can usb connect your PSP and load favorites from your PC. This makes browsing through favorites much more appealing.

Sorry I just re-read your post. You are right, you shouldn't buy a PSP just for portable movies, and email, and internet browsing, and wifi with your friends, and music files, and pictures, and file storage. Oh wait a minute...that sounds pretty cool actually. Never mind.

Man, you are so right! How dumb can I be, and to think that we have two of these worthing things in my house right now. I guess all the hours of fun that we have had with these really weren't worth it. Gosh I suck! Thanks for point out how bad everyone that has purchased a PSP sucks!

[/sarcasm]

Actually we have gotten a lot of enjoyment out of them. Just the fact that when the batteries die or the power goes out, the game will be paused, waiting for you to resume game play from where the power went off at. That is FRIGGIN COOL no matter what anyone else says. I have a PC that will play ANY PC GAME and the highest resolution possible with ALL EFFECT turned all the way up on a 60" LCD display, yet I can still get enjoyment out of this little LCD handheld. Isn't that what it is for, entertainment? If you don't like them, fine, but don't tell me that purchasing one is a bad idea. It's been a great idea, and that's from experience....something that you have none of in regards to this particular product.

My advise is TO NOT BUY ONE, instead...go buy your beer or what ever other consumable you would like to spend your money on and find a thread to talk about how you liked your beer that you bought, or talk about how much you like the clothes you're wearing.

Ignore drifster. He hates the psp so much he made a topic about it. He doesnt need it or like it. No need to convince him other wise. He just likes the attention.

But Ipods have better than Dolby 7.1 multi-channel audio, with 3D sound? Thats cool.

First of all.. 'for the kid that can't afford a laptop', is that pointed to me? If so.. My parents are kind :sly: Teah, all those options are cool.. BUT, you buy a PSP for gaming.. That it also can play movies, mp3's and so on, is an extra option..

YAY! I can post from PSP! :D

I am lucky enough to have a connection near me without me having my own myself, but I have to hang myself outside my brothers room or bathroom window for it to work. IMO it works pretty well, other than the super slow connection. 👎

I try looking for access points a lot, but I cant seem to find any. I just use Scan and it never finds anything, damn my crappy town! Thinking of sorting out wireless access myself, anyone know EXACTLY what I would need?

You could ask your provider for a wireless modem.. That's what I have.. 100% connection in my whole house.. Or, buy a WIFI adapter, or a wireless router, OR buy a laptop that has WIFI so you can connect your PSP to the laptop and the laptop to the internet.. Simple? :D

I was out today and decided to see wether I'd find any points. Most of them required a security code. :(

I'm very lucky to have a non-security code one right outside my door. :dopey:

I found one out side my home a few weeks ago but when i tried to download the new wipeout content the acess point was gone, there where too many people out side at night for me to be walking around with this bright screen in my face to find another near me. The one out side my home was pretty fast and downloaded 9MB in 1 minute, thats about 1-2 hours on dial up :)

Lucky, my one is a dial up by the looks of it... :(

Yeah, now I have a 20mb/s connection!! Downloading is sooooo fast. Also connection to my WIFI point in my house is like 100% in the whole house! :D

it's reallly annoying. I really want a psp, but

1) I don't have the money (yet) and
2) I can't really justify buying one :(

I don't really travel enough to use one. A standard week for me is:

Monday: Go to school. Come back from school. Go on the pc. Go to bed.
Tuesday: " "
Wednesday: " "
Thursday: " "
Friday: " "
Saturday: Go to keyboard lesson. Come home. Go on pc.
Sunday: Go on pc. Then maybe go out somewhere.

Yes, i live an unispring life. Besides, even if i played it at home, i won't really have enough time. Damn you GCSEs. By the time i've made up enough money it'll be constant coursework. *Yay.*

I didnt think I would use mine much, but as I am getting more and more things for it (movies, games etc) I start using it more. The initial excitement has worn off, but I still always keep it on me. If I have 5 mins spare with nothing to do when out somewhere or something, then its a handy thing to have. I work 9 hours a day, so I dont have much time for anything else, but I use it during my lunch hour, on the way home etc. It is good enough to even have it as a gaming system for home use too, I havent played on my PS2 since getting the PSP. Should be a great thing to have when GT4 comes out on it too

My week:
Monday: wake up, pc, school, homework, pc, go sleep with PSP till late midnight..
Thuesday: Same..
Wednesday: Same..
Thursday: Same..
Friday: Same, except for watching Topgear in the evening..
Saturday: Go bowling(competition).. go hang with some friends and get high on crack or something
Sunday: Like the same on Saturday..

Hiya! :D :embarrassed:  Meow! (='.'=)

I think the best way to enjoy the PSP is using it when you travel around and about 20-30 minutes before you go to bed! :embarrassed: With the flexible capability of the PSP, I can't see how I would ever get bored of it. There always seems to be new stuff for it and maybe another Firmware will allow it to be more PC like. I would if you can buy a small keyboard for it and type up emails and stuff. :embarrassed:

Since my internet explorer seems to keep on crashing up with "Not responding" everytime I try to host a picture. I will link to the Tifa wallpaper I am using for my PSP! Brings a smile to my face everytime I turn it on! :embarrassed:

This is not the exact Tifa I used since I cant find the original one I use on the net. Only difference is the IGN logo in the corner.

Link!

What wallpaper is everyone else using? :embarrassed:

I've noticed my PSP freezes and turns itself off occationaly. Twice I know what happened, I lost connection with the internet when I had to make a post in the "Go Advanced" box, and when I tried to reconnect, it froze and turned itself off. ( ). And once the other day, it froze and turned itself off when I was just loading a thread. I little annoying but I think I can put up with it.

I have a link to PSP wallpapers. I haven't used any yet though:
