No, I stopped playing RR becaus I've bought DTM Race Driver2! :D Oh and Mclaren'sAngel, thnx for advertising to the wallpaper page ^^

And where could I get that update?

Do not download the update of 'Team PSP' becaus it will bring some SERIOUS damage to your PSP. Really, DON'T!!

Hiya! :D :embarrassed:  Meow! (='.'=)

I am on my way into trying to get 100% on Ridge Racer, but I have quite a long way to go right now. :embarrassed: I am halfway through Pro Tour right now. 👍

Neocrox, where did you find that "Team PSP" ? :odd:

I found the 2.1 update from Sony's site and plan on updating my PSP after I go out and get a Nintendo DS! 👍 :embarrassed:

I am very cautious of my PSP, that is why I would rather not use homebrew. I would rather follow the regulations and get official things from Sony. :embarrassed:

A friend of mine told me. His website is http://www.psp-only.nl.. Really don't do it, it will damage your firmware so your PSP will crash every time you start up..

And my PSP is my everything and I will keep this thing original. So no Homebrew for me

I dont see the big deal :). If you have 2.0 you are fine unless they releasea must have game that reguires 2.01. No one is going to try to downgrade your system for you since it is a security update.

Neocrox, you should get it here from Sony's official site! :embarrassed: Thanks for the link Joseph Dobson! :embarrassed: 👍
Well, I wrote it becaus I tried to warn people that are just trusting every website.. 👎

I can't believe that people are downloading 2.01 from other sites instead from Sony's site. :yuck: Gamefaqs have a bunch of people last night complaining that they got their PSP messed up from other sites while others were like "YOU N00B!"

Haha!! :D My friend's PSP is ****ed up to.. He called Sony EU and they say he had to buy a new one becaus the 'upgrade' was not released by Sony so.. He was soooo mad.. :yuck: If I knew who it was, I would almost kill the guy if it happend to me..

What I did was search for an update from the "Network Update" part in the browser. It says whether the PSP system needs updating or not. When it does, it says and downloads automaticaly.

No problems whatsoever.

What does 2.01 actually fix, other than a security exploit? Are any new features added?

Personally it seems a better idea to stick with 2.0, as i can downgrade to 1.50 if i feel like trying a little homebrew to see what all the fuss is about, a portable megadrive/genesis emulator seems like it would be pretty cool. Just gonna stick with 2.0 until my 1gig stick arrive from EbaY Land though, the wallpaper feature is damn good, Thanks to all those who've been posting them! 👍

My point illustrated perfectly.

There is no "homebrew" for PSP, just a bunch of emulators running illegal ROMs.

^actually theres PSPong (which works on 2.0), among others which are 'original' creations. The thing is why pay £180 for a handheld version of pong??

Also emulators and roms are not neccessarily illegal, although they are easily exploited and often used in an illegal way, basically it's alright if you own the original version of said emulator and rom - but lets not not get into an emulator discussion :P

Emulators are not illegal, ROMs are. Unless you pull an image straight from a cart you physically own, you are breaking the law.

I've downgraded my PSP(Sorry..). I have now 26 games, these games:
Ape Academy
Archer Madeans Mercury
ATV Offroad Fury
Burnout Legends
Coded Arms
Dead to Rights
F1 Grand Prix
Fifa 2005
Fired Up
Frantix
Frogger Helmet Chaos
NHL 2005
Gripshift
Lumines
Metal Gear Solid
Midnight Club 3 DUB
MVP Baseball
Namco Museum
NBA 2005
Need for Speed Underground 2 Rivals
NFL Street
Spiderman 2 UMD Movie
Tiger Woods Golf
Toca 2 (DTM Race Driver 2)
World Series of Poker
SOCOM: US Navy Seals Fire Team Bravo BETA

I only played Burnout Legends(verry bad graphics), ATV Offroad Fury(good graphics) and SOCOM: US Navy Seals Fire Team Bravo BETA(good graphics). SOCOM for like 10hours ONLINE! :D It's really adicting.

Why be happy with a background option and webbrowsing option what goes terribly slow while you can play the greatest games?!

Nintendo would dispute that with you - they feel they own the intellectual property to whatever a Nintendo emulator emulates. Go ahead and look on their website.

On the other hand, this does not go for something like the Atari ST emulator. There are no more copyrights claimed for neither the machine, nor the OS, nor the software.

I very much suspect the same goes for the C64 emulator.

But I already told you that the internet radio software is awesome, as well as the PDF reader - remember, this means you can very nicely read ebooks (directly as .txt files is really, really fast) and anything else you can print on your PC on the PSP (through tools like PDF Creator, which appears as a Printer driver). and with the WLAN code being almost completely sussed now, homebrew will kick into high gear pretty soon.

If you have 2.0, you can go back to 1.5 and back to 2.0 again. If you have 2.01, you can't do anything, as it specifically fixes that hole and nothing else. I don't buy your comment on the WEP key to be honest, that sounds like a user problem that you accidentally fixed by resetting the firmware.

And finally, if it was illegal to have 1.5 on your PSP, then that would be very interesting. Since I bought a 1.0 PSP, and upgraded to 1.50. I just never upgraded after that. Going to be interesting to hear how that's illegal.

In the meantime, I run no ISOs and I have 4 games: Lumines, Ridge Racers - already played to the full 100% - Wipeout and Metal Gear Acid - this last game I'm starting to appreciate more and more, now that I've unlocked 'swallowtail' - and 2 movies: AVP and Spiderman 2.

I say that the people who really like the 2.0 browser are right to stick with 2.0, but the rest ... And there's a good chance that in the near future, homebrew will actually release a better browser. Even if I needed the browser in 2.0, I would steer clear from 2.01 just in case.

I really think they will.. Maybe a browser that loads faster? Becaus when I'm online on SOCM FTB there is no lag at all while there is more transfer data.. Really strange..

Is there a mod, that allows you to put your own backgrounds on your PSP in version 1.50?

I think theres a program called PSPersonalise, which allows you to do so by overwriting the default images. Im considering the downgrade when my MS arrives.

Yes, PSPersonalise, and I think also PSPSet, which allows you to tinker with just about anything in your PSP

I've downloaded PSPersonalise but where do I have to put those 2 Eboot.pbp files? The readme doesn't says me where I have to put those. And I'm too scared to just put them somewhere and run it..

Please, don't double post. Edit your post next time..

On PSP V1.5 you can't put your own background on. PSPE overwrites the standard ones with your own backgrounds.. Go to pspupdates.qj.net and click on 'Files' in the header. Then search for PSPErsonalise..

No, no. When I tell you something, I mean it, Arwin.

When I had the Japanese 2.0 firmware, I could not use a WEP key on my PSP. I disabled the WEP identification on my router and my PSP connected perfectly. When I installed the US 2.01 firmware, I re-enabled WEP on my router and the PSP WEP key finally worked without any problems. No settings were changed from 1.5 > 2.0 > 2.01

May not be the right topic for this but didn't want to make a whole new one.

Obviously Sony seems to be against Homebrew games judging by the firmware updates to fix exploits, so i was just wondering why the option Game --> Memory Stick exists?

Are there any official games available to go on it? Or did Sony originally intend for homebrew to be used but change their minds?

Yeah, why is that option there? Sony is/was probably planning to release downloadable games!?

A while ago you could download demo's from their official site. One of the demo's was Wipeout Pure..
