its not bad. it looks like mesh, which would be even better than clearness.

CAMAROBOY69 is one of my best friends, and he has done alot of work on his camaro, it has a VIPER 6-speed tranny, 2002 TRANS-AM interior, its been lowerd and he added 18 inch wheels, the car will be painted silver when its finished, and i personally think the taillights look sick bro 👍

poor Camaro, to be owned by a dude like you.

Cano

sad, SAD destiny. I'll be waiting the $5 wing

What has that Camaro done to deserve this?

A Viper transmission in a Camaro? I bet the Mopar guys are puking chunks on their keyboards right now.

I know the paint job would cost abit, but shouldn't that be your first job with the exterior?

The lights look alright. But it's all how they look with the paint colour...Any one fancy doing a photoshop design of the car?

oh snap! yo ride just got pimped up!

supra tail lights
lowered with dubs
8000 dollar entertainment system
baby blue paint job
and to many made up things to list!

You ever think maybe, just maybe, you are the first person to put clear tail lights on a Camaro because, just stay with me here, maybe everyone else in the world thinks they are utterly cheap and ugly?

I find it hilarious how you pride yourself on your ugly tail lights.

Thank you Driftgod for the positive feedback bro 👍. I always appreciate all feedback that I receive as long as its honest.
The funny part of the negative replies is that most of them come from kids that dont even have a car yet. They have nothing better to do than spam other people before mommy comes down and tells them its time for bed and tucks them in.
For those who know about cars they know that a T-56 6 Speed transmission is an excellent transmissions that can be installed into any rear wheel drive car. Otherwise why would they install them into all new Vipers, Corvettes, Mustangs, Trans Ams, Camaros. Even more funny is that there is a viper transmission in the "MULE" that was posted in this site a while back. "Twin turbo 1,000hp 69 Camaro"
To answer Victor Vance's question I will be painting it next year. Like Driftgod said it will be silver. :)
If we didnt try something different then we would all be the same. Why would I want to just keep a stock 4 speed in my car with only 200hp and 14" wheels?

Wrong.

If you post pictures of your car up for criticism, why do you feel the need to resort to poor personal attacks when you get negative criticism? Take it like a man.

The tail-lights look... Like tail-lights. Why spend money on them at this stage when no other part of the exterior bodywork is done yet?

For your reference, I am your age, have had 4 cars, it's the middle of the day and I don't have a mommy.

Anyone who has built a car with many modified parts puts an entire car together as a "mock up". After everything is bolted up and fits perfectly then the bodywork gets completed and painted. Im not offended by the compliments. I guess reading back at my reply it sounds like I am but im not. :) If I wanted a camaro like everyone else had then I would have left it the way I had it when I bought it. Stock is easy and not many people like stock. Thats why even all the new cars like the hondas and all the rice burners are adding turbos and body kits and everything. At first I hated them too but I am extremely open minded and now they are kinda growing on me. I always liked the clear tail lights and it was just something that was impossible to get on any camaro other than the new camaros. 👍

Stock is easy and not many people like stock.

That's a fallacy.

Next time you're out, just driving, count the number of externally stock cars you see. You'll be lucky to get near one in every hundred with external body modifications - even aftermarket alloys. The furthest most people get is changing the stereo. In fact, the furthest most people get is ticking the spec sheet at the dealership - but if it comes from the factory like that, it IS stock.

It would be more accurate to say "stock is easy and not many, but probably considerably more than half, the people in their 20s like stock".

My brother, when he was in his early 20s, put wide arches on a Mini. In 15 years the only thing he's subsequently altered on any of his cars (there's been 27 of them) has been the addition of uprated brakes for his RB5. No-one else I know has done anything to any of their cars' external appearance. And that's well into the 100s of cars (that's just my dad... :D).

It all depends on what groups you hang around in. If you spend a lot of time around serious car freaks (or worse, "cruisers"), you'll get the impression that most people modify their cars. If you hang around in gay bars, you'll get the impression that most people are gay (not analogous, just an example). It's called "ascertainment bias".

Famine,
Well put!! Looking at it that way you are right. In my lifetime of building cars for myself and other people I have learned that a lot of people WANT to make their cars different but they just dont know how to do it. And to pay someone else to do it is just to expensive and not as rewarding in most cases. I hang around at a lot of car shows involving muscle cars and when you see the same car over and over again it gets old. If people liked stock looking cars then you would see them on the cover of magazines. A lot of cars are bad ass stock but look even better when modified. Its nice talking to you because you are also open minded and reasonable to talk to. Hopefully some of the people in here will aquire that. :)

There's a difference between being original and being tasteless. The taillights are still ugly and they're still even uglier on a car like that.

And I have a car as well 👎

I would suggest selling the clear lights, get standard ones, and paint the car. Paint ... not primer, makes for a pretty car. If you and your beer drinkin` buddies are going to stand around and look at the ass of a car because of some clear plastic, why not leave them in the box?

Paint the car. Then put the lights in.

He's perfectly allowed to do what he wants with his car. But we're perfectly allowed to have an opinion on what he wants to do with his car.

True, for isn't that the reason he posted the thread to begin with?: "Hey, look what I've done. What do you think?" is the underlying current of the thread. At least that's how I took it.

Speaking as a person who is 40 years old and currently owns a stock car 2 years older than that '69 Camaro, I think they look fine, and the primer doesn't bother me. The car's a work in progress, obviously. If I was still working on it as well, the last thing I would do is paint it. Final paint is always the last thing you do - why risk the paint job if you're still swinging wrenches on the car?

It's not like he has some crappy molded black urethane Wings West kit stuck on his car because he can't afford to paint it, that's been on so long that it's been curbed twice and will need to be replaced before you can paint it anyway. The car is in grey primer, all over. First off, there's a historic precedent to that: finished hotrods from the '50s and early '60s were often left in primer as the finish coat and never painted a color. Also, among the retro rodders right now "suedeing" is popular, and has been for several years: tinted primer with flat or semigloss clearcoat over it to create a smooth, low-shine finish.

Camaroboy, you do need to rig them up so all three lamps light up in each taillight, though, not just the middle segment.
