Wow. Those antirice dudes are such idiots. I think it's different. I think your whole car looks weird....*shrug*. Do whatever you want. It's your car, your money. It does look clean and well taken care of, and thats always nice to see.

Who said anything about road racing/drag/drifting? And the AE86 is far from archaic; they also do not like drifting on the original suspension.

I wasn't the one who said it had an archiac suspension. (someone else on these forums did, but I'm to lazy to dig up the thread)
OK, maybe not archiac, but, still, isn't solid-axle rear a little out dated? I mean, a freaking Mustang has solid-axle rear (except Cobra). And, uhm who has a jeff gordon avatar anymore :rolleyes:

The Trueno is based on a design which is in excess of 20 years old (if it came out in 1985/86, it will have been designed in 1984 or earlier, and as a small family hatchback - the most competitive and thus least profitable area - it will have been based on previous technologies, to cut costs).

This means that the Trueno is to modern cars as pre-Stone Age man (roughly 30,000 BC) is to modern man. That's archaic.

1) No person here was comparing it to a modern car, other than you.
2) The Trueno was built in the mid 80's, not the 1930's.
3) Regardless of when the car was designed, it works. There are vehicles that were built weeks/months ago that are barely adequate for daily driving, much less all out drifting.
4) How many Levin/Trueno's have you owned, wrenched on, or driven Famine?

87chevy those are awesome compliments! :) Now to answer your questions about the engine.
Keep in mind I am a person who doens't have much money and I do almost everything myself so I can't afford an outrageous amount of power and be streetable at the same time. Here are my engine specs and yes I have STOCK CAST HEADS!! Aluminum heads would add another 75+HP.

I will be happy once I get aluminum heads. That should put me over 500hp which is more than enough for me.
Wondering for a second here, because anyone can easily look up parts and list them and make a rough estimate on Horse and Torque using simple equations that you can get at your local Barnes and Noble, whatever you have.

Are the rods forged or are they Cast?
Why would you replace a normal American Cast Crank which will eventually screw up on you with too much power vs. a Forged Crank which is made to support a whole lot more power then a Cast. If you don't have that much money to spend on it, why would you replace something with another part that will break? I know when I built a few cars I always looked for durability after the first car took a dump.

I dont even think that Eagle rods can be orderd cast so without pulling up the receipt again I am quite sure they are forged. But if you want I can scan all the parts from my engine for you. I have a 2 or 3 page list of receipts and paperwork. I did not put the engine together. I pulled it from my car as a 350 and after he machined it and put in most of the goodies, I assembled the rest and installed the engine back into my car as a 383 stroker.
Also a little added info. The 383 stroker in my car is a 350 block and 400 crank. So I had to buy a new crank. Cranks are one of the last things to go in most any engine. My heads are the weak point of my engine. I will be replacing them within a year with aluminum AFR heads. I will also probably replace the cam with a new solid roller cam and I will get better headers since mine are old. After these mods I should have real real close to 500+ hp. Well mabey that answers yours and your friends questions.
:edit My engine is also balanced and so is the flywheel.
Its funny how this started with tail lights now its engine specs. :lol:
