I've played GT6 a lot & I don't know what you mean.

I can only guess that maybe you've seen cars jumping around on the track?
That's lag caused by poor internet connection. I don't know if that's what you mean though.

Flashbacks? You mean rewinding in real time, because you screwed up? Like Dirt, Forza? Yeah that doesn't exist in GT series lol.

I remember an FPS with slow time, you adjusted as it came on.

I know of no racing games with the flashback used during live races, but to answer the question I'd assume the use was limited and everyone would rewind and make the best of it.

Yes, he was rewinding for some seconds and then continued from the point, where it started to go wrong. This, I have on saved video, of 2 drivers. Last night he did it 5 times in the same race at the Gt500-event.
If someone could tell me how to download from my Ps3 to this site you all could see. The clue is to look dustcloud AND you are not getting closer in time or distance. Then save the video and get frustrated

This is online? Probably its lag, making a slingshot effect. Ive seen it happen when i played GT5/GT6.

No, and no...Both players made the same 'moves' on track when we played. And in the video, this drivers with 'normal' view and instruments. You'll see Rev throttle and brake moves. Then 'mistake' and starting up the turn once more....tell me how to post from Ps3 and I'll share!

That does sound like it could be lag.

Here's a hypothetical.
Your PS3 hasn't had information from the other driver's PS3 for longer than is desirable & estimates that the other car is travelling as it was at the last known point.
Your screen shows the other car, carrying on as it was.
Then your PS3 receives some data that shows the other car behaving as it should be.
The correction on your screen looks really screwy.

Of course I could be wrong.

It was lag. Either on your side, theirs or both, making it look weird.

It might have looked like flashbacks but it wasn't. It was just the extrapolation tripping over its own feet. It happens.

My personal favourite is where they're doing near top speed with me close behind and then instantly switch to top speed in reverse. Scares the crap out of me every time.

What I think happens is the game lags his car on your screen and you see the car have no input (just driving straight) and then it resets to what where the car actually is when the lag stops. I've seen it happen a few times when in the passnger seat of another players car in GTA Online. And I used to see it happen sometimes in GT5/6

Found it:





It's lag.

Your console tries to figure out where the other driver is based on his inputs. If some inputs don't make it to your system, the game will guess wrong and put him on track. When more data comes in, it can correct and put him in the right place.

He never goes backwards.

Unless you think players are actually stopping and rewinding time in real life, I don't know how anyone could possibly gain time by resetting their car and doing a turn over again.

IT'S LAG. Lag happens all the time in every race. Not his fault unless he has crap internet

That's not a problem with his theory. In fact it's explained by his theory. What you've witnessed is 25 players who have bad internet connections.

That's the only other explanation I can think of if it's not lag.

It's lag.

It looked like he went off the track, but he never did. He was always keeping up with you and it seems wrong because you think he messed up.

But he didn't. Lag made it look like he did.

I have to assume you've never used the rewind features in other games because this is entirely different.

That guy is just having connection problems.

Also, lawsuit issues? Do you really think someone would sue you for uploading a video of them on GT6? Unless you're purposely slandering or defaming them with a GT6 video in the background, you aren't going to be sued.

I'd say it's best to block out the names if you're claiming that people are cheating.
