I was thinking the same thing... flat-panel computer montors are LCD.
I use an old 17" CRT. I'll continue to use it until it finally dies, and then I'll probably get 19"+ LCD. Or two. Dual-monitor is very nice, especially since I have a few apps that can effectively use it.
At home I have a 17" LCD and a 27" tube TV which acts as a 2nd monitor.
At work I have a widescreen LCD (not sure on the size) and a 17" CRT which acts as a 2nd monitor. The widescreen is as tall as the regular 17" CRT, whatever that works out to along the diagonal.
21" CRT (2048 x 1536) Iiyama Vision Master Pro Series HD Monitor
20" LCD (1680 x 1050) ViewSonic VX2025wm Monitor
17" LCD (1600 x 1200) Dell Laptop Monitor
15" LCD (1280 x 800) HP Laptop Monitor
My Iiyama CRT is a far superior video display than any LCD and has support for the highest resolution, so I use this for high quality video playback and analysis.
My ViewSonic LCD is great for text... and desk space.
My Dell Laptop LCD monitor is for power applications, and high quality video presentations.
My HP Laptop LCD monitor is just my general convenient everyday PC.
At work... two ancient CRTs, 19 and 17 inches. 1280 by 1024 and 1024 by 768 resolutions, respectively.
At home... two LCD's, 19 and 17 inches, both running 1280 by 1024. At times, I run my computer out to 27 inch TV, but thats just for movies and anime I download... legally, of course. >.>;
