Blue Angels pass at the beginning of the Gr.1 race at Daytona

As they reach the end of the stands they turn right to exit the area, because the airport behind the back straight is live, running arrivals and departures. Hello, FAA???

A departure over the other end of the speedway:

I kept trying to capture the touchdown, see if PD made the tires smoke, but it seems to magically taxi several feet off of the ground!

In the alpine regions they have gondolas or gondola lifts to carry passengers up- and down-hill. Sort of cable car.

Not the only “ancient” thing in that picture then as it went into service just a month before I was born.
