Splurged yet again... Captain Sim is having a big sale on everything, most of which is just $9.99 (euro)

No truly good Delta repaints so no exterior shots for now, until I find one that is...

I heard about that sale, but airliners aren't my thing. Except for DC-3's, Constellations, Electras, that kind of thing.
Constellations are cool.

At one point in time I had a good freeware one, however I can't recall where I got that from.

So far this aircraft has been quirky. I tried to do a flight earlier today from Seattle to Calgary, a short 1:35 minute flight, climbing up to FL390 and as soon as I hit it I'd need to drop back down. There's no specified departure out of Seattle though for this route, so I had to go direct to ALPSE after leaving the runway. So rather than instantly turn on the easy way auto-pilot, I wanted to at least try out some of the other auto-pilot features.

Well, I had set heading to 340, speed was set to V2 but on the 757 and 767 you select EPR (engine pressure ratio) for TO/GA thrust power setting, and selected 39,000 in the ALT box. Took off, flew to about 1,500 feet by hand, engaged speed to 178 kts, heading hold, and selected Vspeed to +3,500 fpm... Well as soon as I did that, the auto-throttle backed all the way down to zero, and I began to do a climbing stall, nose pointed up 70 degrees...

So I scrapped that flight.

I did do a flight from Atlanta to LAX and that was fun, but the approach was horrible. The plane bounced left and right all over the approach and could never properly track the next point correctly until it was a straight line on the localizer.

Overall I like this aircraft a lot. It's good on frames, good looking, but the weight values are far off, the config application for it is terrible, and sounds (engine wise) aren't that good either. So I went ahead and bought the TSS 757 PW2000 pack for it, and hopefully later tonight I'll get that running and give it a shot.

Trying to get back into vfr flying... Going to be flying again (irl) with my friend in the 172, so I'll try to handle radios if we go into Atlanta again.

Deciding between saving for motorcycle, camera lens (meh right now), pilots license, or new PC..

Had a look on Vatspy (about to do PIT-ATL) and saw this...

That is all...

edit:

I should point out a few things. This guy (aside from his ludicrous callsign 420 DANK) is in an aircraft nowhere near capable for this route. It's an Embraer E190, something meant to hop from city to city, not across half a frickin ocean...

 It couldn't even go over half the Atlantic if it wanted to...

I should note this from the Atlanta to Seattle flight... It takes about 5 hours to do it in the 737, around M .79 I think is where I was at last I checked. I had everything set that when I cam back home it should've been around 20 miles from top of descent before I needed to touch something....

Nope, clear over the pacific, 200 miles out from Seattle..

landing was fun... Ceiling was at 3,000 MSL, which is basically right at the glideslope intercept for 28L. Never realized the diamond dropped past the mid-point until I disengaged the AP and hand flew it in with 30 knot gusts. I looked at the misery map on flightaware and saw CMH looked like a good one to hit up. Basically I repeated the same route I flew IRL last Saturday, and maybe tonight I'll take the ERJ out to LGA. After that loop it back down to ATL in the Maddog.

What's funny is that last Saturday when I did fly that, we had winds 30-40 knots, gusting 50 clear across the runway... You could say it was bumpy.

After a long time I installed X-Plane again and did a test flight. Haven't tried since I upgraded my graphics card and it runs so much nicer now.

Now it's time to install many of the freeware airfields. After that I can do my tour around Europe that I wanted to do for so long :)

Saw that SSG made their E-170LR and E-190LR freeware since their release of the Evolution, and since KLM uses the E-190LR too I just had to. Now I need to learn the systems for a bit so I can properly use this thing.

First flight from Rotterdam to Amsterdam :)

Maybe I can then finally use vatsim @Swagger897 :D

After a lot of thinking and trying out with the Embraer I felt pretty uncomfortable with it. Ended up having more fun with the stock Beechcraft B58. Looked at what Carenado had to offer and really liked the B200 King Air. Just had my first flight and I'm really happy :)

Starting at my local Airport EHRD Rotterdam The Hague

It's equipped with two Garmin GNS 430s and Avidyne display. No idea about the last one but the Garmin works pretty straight forward and easy to use. Works well with the auto pilot too. Now I have to think of a fun route to go through Europe, if possible mostly small airports, preferable a bit exotic. If anybody has some good ideas...

I believe Europe has a host of airports with super small runways... Maybe flying out/into one of those (if I knew a name of one I'd say it).

But yeah, the B200 is really good. I've got the C90B and wish I could pick up the C90GTx. The two of those are just amazing.

That C90GTx has a really nice cockpit with those big screens

Did a flight from Schiphol to Geneva, departure from Schiphol:

Did a flight from Atlanta to Heathrow in the 747. Havent flown the queen for a while but had fun.

I'll post it later tonight once I've got the edit done.

ATL-EGLL

Weather on arrival was typical British-like. Windy, and a bit wet. This was a bit before T/D. One of my favorite new shots w/ the moon in the back. Never had one at this angle before and thought it looked great.
Headed to EGLL again right now but from Seattle this time, probably not going to get the same results but I want this route done on the virtual airline map.

Nice shot of the DC10. What airport did you leave from on this flight?
