If you look at the most popular musical genre's it makes me question why PD would choose it as a centrepoint for such a massive game.

Top 30 Most Popular Music Genres based on sales of singles, record albums, compilation-albums, downloads & music videos

1. Pop [The Beatles, Elvis Presley, Michael Jackson, ABBA, Celine Dion, Madonna, Elton John]

2. Rock [The Beatles, Paul McCartney, Queen, U2, Carlos Santana, Michael Jackson, Bob Seger]

3. Hard Rock [AC/DC, Led Zeppelin, Aerosmith, Bon Jovi, Deep Purple, Guns N' Roses, Van Halen]

4. Rhythm & Blues (R&B) [Mariah Carey, Lionel Richie, Whitney Houston, Janet Jackson, Stevie Wonder, Boyz II Men]

5. Country [Garth Brooks, Alan Jackson, George Strait, Shania Twain, Dolly Parton, Kenny Rogers, Willie Nelson]
etc, etc....

This response made me defend the good, but less popular music in FM and GT.

....The last ten pages of this thread......are giving me a seizure.....

I loved the fact that Forza 2 had no music on the actual races... at least till I got to the endurances.... then I would rock the custom stuff.... the menu music sometimes was a head scratcher and sometimes brilliant...faith no more Im looking at you

As for the logos, I know it's a joke and all but, who the hell cares?

Well, its highly dependent on photo effects which game looks more realisic. So what, if you only buy a game for the sake of graphics, then think again, because PC has the best graphics in games so far anyways...

hmm not sure if serious, PC undoubtedly has more potential as 360 is using Hardware that PCs were using in 2004.

Maybe there isnt a better looking racing game on PC, but if you want the best graphics then PC is where its at.

If Forza 4 was on PC you could probably get close to Autovista Cars in gameplay.

You might be right but it is still a if

Re-Read your post and I now feel stupid!

Being said, some new videos up on Gamespot, sounds sound properly pornographic. Have we covered sounds in this thread yet?

I would be overjoyed if someone develops a Forza for PC, not sure if Shift has enough momentum going to continue their growth, but so far only Turn 10 seem capable of delivering a complete and all-rounded product on a consistent basis.

Well you can guarantee it'd look better than it does on the 360. its only an 'if' about how much better it'd look.

PC hardware is over 2 generations ahead of console hardware, 6 years old hardware wouldnt stand a chance to today latest PC rigs.

Games such as Crysis created in 2007 destroys any console graphics 'kings'. Take a look at GTA4 icenhancer mods and even F1 2011 thats just released looks and plays better on PCs.

Lol, still developers don't care about PC thieves anymore, and I understand them - would you work for something that in the end will be pirated and sell like 10k copies? 💡
The next major leap forward will be after PS4/720 release.👍

Not of that scale at least, on PC you don't have to install special firmwires/mod chips, therefore its a lot easier.💡

Fair enough, but i think the real reason why games like GT and Forza dont come to PC is that they are owned by the console maker, Sony and MS, and the exclusivity of the game shifts console units making them a lot of money.

I wasnt saying that Forza or other games should or would come to PC, i just said that if they were on PC they would be at another level of greatness. I wish they would come to PC but money is a big player.

Why would PC gamers want it anyway? Hardcore racers are satisfied with games like IRacing, Rfactor, LFS and RBR, they don't care much about the grafx, it is all about realism.

Best wait till Forza 4 is out to compare. Seems a bit unfair to compare GT5 gameplay to Forza Autovista and promotional supers sampled renders most probably from PC development.

The super sample renders of Forza 3 were quite different to what we actually got in gameplay. Even Forza 3 photomode couldn't get close, I even had a capture card to avoid compression but still no where near the pre release renders.

Che caught a lot of flack as it was widely believed the Forza 3 renders were gameplay. When it came out that we couldn't even get that quality in photomode it was a massive let down.

I hope its better this time but I'm not getting carried away.

So this thread is now the FM vs. hypothetical-PC-FM4 thread?

EDIT:

I've seen plenty of shots that look as good, if not better than, the shots T10 was getting chewed out for after release. People seem to pick an awful looking photo and ignore all of the ones that look like this:

But I do agree with waiting until the game is out to compare. Or at the very least wait for the demo.

Right now it seems its GT5 gameplay vs Auto Vista/PC renders

Getting back on topic a little, Forza has improved a lot from the real gamplay videos and I would say it has GT5 beaten all over except the Nurburgring.

LOLWUT?! There is plenty of gameplay released just today in good quality on gamespot. And we haven't even seen the Nordshleife yet.:sly:

those stitched shots get the benefit of really high res and relatively low compression as a result too, so not exactly fair.

Actually you can get that quality. T10 said from the get go that all images they've used for promo use have been taken directly from the game and are not bullshots, meaning not post processed on some PC with edits. In game the visuals are good but when you pause and go to photomode you basically allow the game to bump up the visuals for even better looking visuals. All racers do this to my knowledge, even if adding more AA or doing model swaps. GT is even guilty of this.

One of the problems was in the photo export. When uploading to FM.net the quality of the photos you take in the game reduced due to compression issues and when you uploaded that photo to a site like photobucket or flickr, those sites add their own compression techniques sometimes further reducing the quality of the image even more. T10 went out of their way to give us big photo mode, meaning no compression at all, and improve the photo export to resolve issues we had before.

PS Che can eat a fat one. Never liked the guy for posting more and more info about Forza 3 on NeoGAF forums rather than FM.net's own. That in itself should have seen the community manager that he was fired long time ago.

Agreed.

Hey Chromatic, big fan. ontopic. I agree that GT5 still has that extra shine and the Nurb in gt5 is better. But that's about where it ends. As a game Gt5 doesn't hold a candle against FM4 nor FM3 for that matter. I wont get into the detail other that i bought a ps3 for gt5 and sold it after a couple of months. Fm is where its at. I'm pretty certain that forza 4 graphics fedility can match gt5.

Anyone should know that especially you. The possibilties... No more endless searching for the right angle for reflection and nice hotspots to appear. And as a bonus we get Bigshot.

I can't wait to the the ring in FM4, and see if they made changes to our baby. Might end up being the best one yet!

Because there are at ton of features that Forza has that iRacing, GTR etc do not have. Just because iRacing has better physics doesnt make it more fun. There is no reason to stereotype.
