Stop kidding yourself show me some real proof where that picture comes from no premium interior looks like that. You just posting a picture does nothing to support your argument.

Hopefully you are. No disrespect lol.

I hope i'm wrong too. 👍

Guys when racing In FM4 do the cars look as detailed as they do in Autovista? No Its not even close. People Bragging about Autovista graphics mean nothing to me because its a mode where you cant drive the cars. The details are amazing but its just a mode where you get some info take pictures and open up doors, they don't look like that in game play. That's what I was saying.

I know FM4 doesn't quite look as good as GT5 out of Autovista but you can't honestly say that it's not close. Race mode vs race mode it is somewhat close at the least, and very close imo. Yes I still give the edge to GT5's premium cars but that's it their premium cars only. 500 cars vs 200 cars. 💡 I'd rather have 500-600 highly detailed cars than 200 super high detailed cars and 800 that look like crap. Another thing that plays a huge part for me is the cars that make up the lists. It's sad if you ask me that FM has half as many cars as GT but still has a far better list overall. That is what I call NOT EVEN CLOSE.

After all these years, Turn 10 cannot get models right whether it's the geometry or the lighting either. Their shaders look like some cartoonish smear during real time gameplay.

The same can no longer be said now that FM4 has just about hit the shelves. The lighting is almost perfect. Just the shaders on the grays they use needs to be overhauled and that's basically it.

Really? You need to stop lying. There are 800 cars that you can't even put wheels on.

You might laugh but putting wings on them is a form of customization (albeit quite low on the customization spectrum of Forza)

Sparks that looks awful. Where are they from mate?

That's the BMW M3 E92, the ingame/replay/photomode LOD... When using the interior view the game changes to the "phototravel" interior since it doesn't have to show the outside of the car, but from the external cameras, that's how the interior of the cars looks like. Of course it does the trick when seen from a distance, but not when you get close...

That's what outsourcing does. No quality control. You only have to look at Sony corp for first hand experience. Back then they used to build all their stuff. The quality was supreme. Until they decided to outsource most of their production to china and taiwan to cut costs and as a result their quality suffered. What the morons in japan were thinking off when they partnered with that cheap ass korean **** copycats known as samsung on their flagship bravia in the early 2000s i will never know. As a result sony went from 1st in TVs to number 3 in less than 5 years. All their technical expertise was basically copied and simulated from scratch by the koreans samsung and LG and you have what you have right now. 20 years if you told sony execs that they would be outsourcing their materials and working with competitors and korean at that they would have told to get the **** outta here. Nowadays we have gaijins and western bureaucrats running the company who are driving all tech knowhow away from japan.

Thankfully someone in PD said we will built our stuff inhouse even if it takes till the next decade. At least then the cars would look their counterparts for real.

Turn10's new lighting system is at the top of its class, the shaders have improved greatly from FM3, and many car models have been fixed.

But it still has some ways to go before we can tout it;s photo-realism.

If that's all you can do to them then that's not every car is easily customized, is it? You can't customize 800 of the cars the way you want to. For the most part I don't like those big wings on street cars so whats left after that? Nothing but changing the color.

True, however...

Turn10's new lighting system is at the top of its class

Not true. As was pointed out in here a few pages back, their shaders still have some issues, seemingly with some exhaust pipes (though, even earlier back, the 240SX's aftermarket exhaust looked just fine).

GT5 still slightly ekes out a win in this regard, but it's just that: slight. Of course, it'd be much better to be able to judge for ourselves in two weeks, but for now, I'm just going by what we've been shown :)

You do understand that consoles have a certain amount of framebuffer which they cannot exceed right?

My point is that JDMKING13 said that there was a bigger gap between photomode and ingame models in FM4 than between phototravel and ingame models on GT5, and I don't agree, using those pics as proof.

not really. their lighting is much improved from forza 3 but still a step below GT. This also inspite of the fact that GT's engine also has night and weather conditions to take into consideration.

As for their shaders, it is miles behind. For some reason they have haven't improved it as much as the lighting from from forza 3

What proof !?! What car is that all you did was post a picture last time i checked these are how the interiors looked in GT5

Like the Forza picture, they look pretty good as well. But, I don't see either title looking photo-realistic in-game. 95% of the shots I've seen people post from both games look just that; a game.

Yeah, posting a picture from phototravel... :sly:

Seriously, you can just check it yourself, that's how the interiors look INGAME.

PS: I already said what car is, the BMW M3 E92.

I did say 95%, not all. There are exceptions, esp. when the game photo attempts to mimic a real one, such as the one you just posted. The majority though, are not photo-realistic at all.

Looking at the example you posted, it becomes clear it's a game just by looking at the background & the grass.

So I guess you missed the Picture of the Jag :rolleyes"

All in game big guy, now please try again.

In the end, I really don't care. If you cannot comprehend the fact that T10 outsource to save money then be my guest. Of course the proof is in the pudding and while GT's premiums have minor flaws, they don't look slapped together like alot of the interiors in Forza 3 do. When you have such differences 'minor or large' in quality amongst cars that are considered the same in a game, something doesn't add up 'maybe, just maybe, the five different modelling studios go about business in slightly different ways...!!!!'. It's fantastic achievement that Forza has 400+modeled interiors, but don't tell me that they're not doing it to cut costs.

This statement makes absolutely no sense. Are you saying by having more fully modeled cars interiors, T10 is actually saving expenses?

Please note that the actual cost of outsourcing the modeling to third party firms, however much or little they may be, is more than not modeling any interiors at all.

I think most people have maintained that at it's best GT5 is still king in the looks department.

However, pics like this....

...do show FM4 has gone a long way to catching up. I reckon by the time the best photographers in the FM world get their hands on FM4 the comparison pics are going to be very comparable. I still think GT5 will have the edge but only just.

This brings up a whole new point; there's dirt (and the need for a co-driver) on R246? ;)

For the sake of this thread, let's ease up on the photo comparisons, as Sparks' shows a different LOD interior used in replays, much as there have been images of lower LOD models for FM3, it's not exactly a fair call either way since one can always find horrible examples from both.

My point earlier about comparing AutoVista against Photo Travel, and in-race replays against in-race replays, will best be served once we all can compare both games on our own TV's. Until then, we can only go by what we're shown, and even then, using certain images to further a point (lower LOD versions, from either game) is being a bit crafty, and missing the point.

Actually yes, for some reason i'm only seeing the picture of the Miata. Anyway, try getting really close to the cockpit and without resizing the pictures to a smaller resolution. This doesn't void my point that some cars look really bad ingame, and they are premiums too...
