Following GT6, will GT7 be an automatic purchase?

Take it with a grain of salt. Tony Gardner, ceo of iRacing, responded to a question during an interview a few months ago, that they have think tanks constantly 'exploring options' and of course among the many things they looked at was the console market. If it were to happen, and that's a big if, it's a long way off. They have no immediate plans. And he did mention that it would be a separate game/service just for consoles and likely wouldn't interact with the PC/Mac version online, even if it were to happen.

You just took the jam out of my doughnut, and then peed all over my picnic...but thanks for the info!

Still may have to go down the PC sim racing route at sometime in the future then...

Considering you just said almost exactly what he did, I'm not sure what your problem is. You said you'd buy a GT toaster, cat food and shampoo, but you'd draw the line at GT branded air?

I was refering to the "fanboy" term...

@jjaisli Yeh I can't see it happening, maybe a spin-off or something in the future. I remember the good old days of GTR3 hype and how that was going to be console as well, instead we got RRE

It's definitely worth it, and without meaning to sound like a cheap 🤬, you can just download a game on torrent to see what it's like. If you then like it, you can buy it. My personal fave is GT Legends from Simbin, it has a nice career mode which most PC sims don't have.

2014 is the year for PC sims, all the next-gen games are being released.

 Sorry. But hey, things change. Who knows what the future will bring. I just mean to say, don't expect anything in the next 18 months at least.

I know "fanboy" is a term highly frowned upon here, but the things you wrote in your earlier post are the very definition of something a 'fanboy' would say or do, even if they were meant in jest. How can you possibly be upset when somebody responds in kind?:odd:

i feel like pd is going down the same road as ea did with nfs series. And with gt7 im deff not buying it until it gets down to 20$ im tired of wasting my money on half finish games. with half the features in it . and half the cars modeled properly .

I'm planning on getting a PS4 when GT7 comes out. I was very happy with GT6 (except of course for the AI and the engine sounds) and am looking forward to seeing what they can do on the more powerful hardware. If we get the promised one track per month as DLC in 6, and everything in 6 including the 12+ DLC tracks are included in 7, I'll be grinning form ear to ear.

To be honest, yeah it would. Don't really care what others think, fans of ANY frachise they love will purchase that said game no matter what. "Oh you are such a fanbooooy", yeah, problem? I always loved GT, just like how people like other games I don't like.

No. Not because I'm somehow not loving GT6 because I still am. But have learned the hard way over the years that the worst thing I can do as a consumer in the gaming industry is to blindly hand my cash over to developers who as a group continue to seemingly try to figure out how to deliver as little as possible while charging as much as possible.

What I will do is pay close attention to all pre-release info to see if it's going to be worth it. Will they use the new system power to really push the boundaries of a racing game? Or will they use the new system power just to make everything look pretty while ignoring the racing? Those will be the questions I'll be asking.

And of course, not knowing release dates on either, but if Project Cars comes out before GT7 and actually delivers what it promises I can't imagine even thinking of buying another racer. Not that I'm confident it will, but it could.

I still haven't purchased GT6, however I'm looking forward to seeing a PS4 version of GT7 ofcourse, but I expect consistency and high quality. PD needs to really deliver with GT7 for me to get my faith back in my favourite game series.

I will buy GT7 only if the game doesn't have ANY STANDARDS CARS, they must disappear already!!!:banghead:
PD stop bosting the car list

EDIT:
it needs to run at 60 fps, makes the game run so smootly (my brother have forza 5 and BF4 and both of them run at 60, playing is so much easier  )

The only hold up for me would be having to buy a PS4. It does depend on the game, If they make major changes that I do not like then it would be a no but more than likely I would be pre-ordering it and have a copy on release day.

I like GT6 and I am still excited to see what the updates bring to the table over the next few months.

Well, we can expect the new sound system integrated into GT7 so that might be a good reason to give the GT series another chance. I probably be getting it since I already have a PS4.

I bought GT1,2,3,4,5 & 6 without thinking twice. With all the drama surrounding GT6, I have to say I'll be waiting when 7 is released before I spend my money. When comparing GT5 & GT6, instead of a step forward I think they stepped sideways!

I really didn't want to buy GT6 right away. I waited until day 2 as my personal little protest of how bad GT5 was. I will not be purchasing GT7 unless it gets insane reviews. Hopefully pCARS will be out before GT7 to keep me busy.

You are making a good point, but as GT7 will be on PS4 I think we will all be buying GT7 as soon as possible.

It's all dependant on how good a console the PS4 becomes. If I have a PS4, of course I will buy it!

No. Because with the disappointment of gt6, I will wait about a year after gt7 is released to buy it.

It definitely won't be a day 1 purchase for me. If it releases in the same state as GT6, I won't even give it the time of day. I'll have Pcars and AC (both of which I am currently playing anyway) to keep my racing appetite fed.

With all the flaws I still love GT so it would definitely be a day one purchase for me.. and I'm sure I'll find myself in the "epic whining and crying" thread crying about missing features and the lack of shuffle racing, no course creator, bland 'career' mode, no event creator, no custom liveries, standard cars still present etc etc

GT is a love, hate, love with me.. I buy it, I love it, I get mad about missing stuff, come to accept it and just love it all again :D

Yup, and I'll gladly bear the games launch glitches/imperfections, I'll be one of the poor poor beta-test suckers... it's going to be soo terrible.. oh man.

/sarcasm

no Shi(*)ngles, Sherlock! GT5.5 (GT6 is the wanted GT5 expansion pack as far as I'm concerned) is great, but we need a proper next gen asap, I mean, if Drive Club can do it on time, so can PD! I can't wait for the photorealism on the sidelines for tracks like Pikes Peak.

The kids have it so great today.

Without a doubt I will get any GT game that is produced. I've had my up's and down's with GT games but I am a fan nonetheless. I'm willing to ride the low's in order to reap the benefits of the high's.
