I'm personally going to Las Vegas with my family and probably going to swim and play games. I got a crapload of tickets for the circus circus place and GameWorks.

Laying on a boat, drinking beer and blowing crap up....isn't that what most Americans do? Nothing says freedom like colourful explosions and drunkenness.

Lol. I noticed that a typical American and redneck celebration Is a BBQ, beer, and poker in the garage lol. I'm not that family btw. I'm Chinese in fact. Kinda coincides with Vegas though.

In other words, be kept awake by people blowing up small parts of their country despite the fact that fireworks are illegal inside the city limits.

Having some BBQ and listening to all the rednecks that live a couple miles away shoot off their rifles.

Watching them with my family from work. There's a balcony here that gives you a view of 6 or 7 different barges from Sea World down to the US/Mex border. Last year was epic!

Probably going to see the fireworks show/1812 Overture with real cannons on the Potomac. Living in DC does have its perks.

Working 7am-2pm, BBQ/Pool at my parent's place after that, and then fireworks with my girlfriend's family later. I'm excited 👍

Going to school. If only the british had a national holiday like this.

I live in a heavily forested area and during the dry season fireworks are stupid. But my dad did buy some in New Mexico during his Route 66 road trip so we going to shoot them off after a good rain. Which is typically late October. Darn California summers...

It will likely consist of eating BBQ and drinking beer. And.. of course watching some baseball.

Going out to a lake in Idaho and blowing a lot of stuff up while drinking good beer and scotch. Also will include soaking in a hot tub, getting dragged behind a power boat, and burning things in a fire as well.

In short, F YEAR AMERICA!

Take it easy at home. Too hot to do damn anything else. The oldest had a fireworks show planned for us, but it's too hot and too dry and it has been canceled.

I don't plan to cook. That means I'll just go pick up some burgers at Jim's or something.

Oh! and you don't ask ME How I celebrate my First of July?!?! [/kidding]

Haha, we do the same things with a different flag and a different brand of beer

I was thinking we could invade another country or covertly overthrow a Latin American leader that was democratically elected and replace him with a dictator who will implement a more "suitable" financial and ruling system. However there is still a democratic president and senate so chances are slim that this will happen... Oh how I yearn for the days of Reagan and the School of the Americas. Chilie, Guatemala, Panama now those were fine examples of imperialism as opposed to the nonsense that is going on in the middle east... Will someone tell the whitehouse to call Ollie North? I heard he works at faux news.

BBQ and beer. I got invited to a holiday party at my boss's place. I think I may drop by for a little bit. Other than that, I'll be hanging out with friends, eating, drinking, and going to the park to watch the official city fireworks show.

I think this pretty much sums up the 4th of July for a lot of people:

Setting up a new modem at my Uncle's house but I might celebrate at my Uncle's house. Or if I get back in time I can race some GT5 against my other Uncle who is coming over to my house.

Your country wasn't a colony in the past, so you don't have an independence day.

I'd like to echo the sentiments of my fellow Americans: Drink beer and blow stuff up.

I bought fireworks here in Ohio, but I lied about where I was going to use them. :p

The entire community I live in throws a massive party at the community beach every year. So probably that.

And there are several communities that do the same along the Magothy River, and we usually try to 1-Up each other with out Firework displays.

Also, I'm changing my Avatar background for today.

So as it turned out, my family hadn't planned on seeing the fireworks/1812 on the Potomac, and that was kind of a big disappointment for me. Well, a few minutes ago I decided I still needed to do something to celebrate the 4th. So I got out my trombone, went up to the top of my street, and played Amazing Grace, the national anthem and America the Beautiful to the world. And I can tell you, it's the best 4th of July I've ever had.
