I'm an a die hard Ford man and I just thought I'd create a thread for those of you who appreciate the blue power under the hood of your cars. TAlk about anything related to the brand, like favorite engines, builds and the like.

My personal favorite Ford engines are the 429's and the 351W's/302W's. Just can't get enough of them.

This is what the monster in my back yards sounds like (or similar to), but this isn't actually it. Only revs to about 3000 RPM here.

Also, if anyone know what that sound is a 7/8 seconds, it sounds like a sucking noise or a high pitched whistle when he blips it, mine does that all the time and I have no idea what it is. That's the only thing thats got me confused. And no the carb doesn't need to be rebuilt. Thought it might be a bad power valve but I'm not really sure. I know a lot of people have this noise after a rebuild. It's not a vacuum leak I know that. There is no loss of power either. I've been told be 2 respectable people that this noise is perfectly fine as well. Maybe its just the secondaries opening too slowly? Or just opening at all.

Or is it just a vent whistle...

Ford will always have a place in my heart, probably because dad worked at the Ford factory for 35 years and it was all we ever drove :)

Ford and Honda are my two favorite brands, I've dreamed of owning some sort of Mustang since early elementary school. Got my sights set on an '04 Cobra.

1965 Ford Mustang GT500 - Blue with white stripes!!!!!!!!!

I would chop off my left testicle to have one - There I said it!!!!

Argh!!! How is it that the Australians do American muscle better than... the Americans?! Screw NASCAR, I wish this country's motorsports had spent it's last near-century on the road course and not hours going in drunken, crash-ridden circles. Maybe then we would have gotten the good models in Ford's own back yard :grumpy:

However, the new Mustangs do everything right. It's a proper muscle car, but at the same time competes on the world stage. Bravo.

I don't think NASCAR plays into where Ford releases what cars, the market is what determines that.

I also think you have a skewed idea of what Ford has really been doing internationally.

This is an early 90's Euro Escort.

They are both uninspiring pieces of crap.

Back on topic, Ford is my favourite modern brand, they have managed to make some fairly good designs over the past few years. Not to mention the Ecoboost engine is great.

That GT40, judging by the mufflers, plate and badge, looks to my eyes like a replica, but nice nevertheless.

Yeah I like Fords. :D

I'm more of a Chevy guy, but there's a few Fords I like, mainly Mustang, GT40, LTD & Country Squire, Crown vic.

I'm not really that big of a fan of Ford myself, however for me the Phase III GTHO is the absolute business. I also love the BA-FG XR6 Turbo/FPV F6 simply because since the BA version of the Falcon they've proved that the Aussie-made sports sedans don't need a V8 to still be fast and fun. These boosted 6s could answer to any of the V8-powered Falcons and Commodores with ease, they were easier to get power out of and were actually nicer to handle as well because of the smaller, lighter engines. They don't sound as good mind you but they're still hugely appealing.

A stock 300C.I. I6 could put out the same power as some model 302's from the same brand. Easy 500 horse out of a straight six.

I actually like the Mark V Escort (International)...

I'm a Ford lover courtesy of the BTCC. Wonderful V6 sounds.

What. A. Sound.

The pass Radisich makes on Winkelhock through Church cannot be overstated. It is brilliant

Check out the video I just posted in the last American muscle car thread.

I bleed ford blue, half my family works or has worked for them, everyone drives fords, and I've got a lightly modified '91 F150 Lariat that just clicked over 170,000 miles, going strong!

Where can I get an easy 500 horse out of my tractor engine!?

If you've got money it's relatively easy to do. Not street useable though.

Let me make it clear that I was in reference to actual performance-oriented street cars in that particular post. Yes, we do have some quite nice models coming out as of late.

I don't think NASCAR plays into where Ford releases what cars, the market is what determines that.

I didn't say it did, just voicing my distaste for the so-called "sport." But it still doesn't take away from the fact that the rest of the world does Ford better than Ford of America.

I also think you have a skewed idea of what Ford has really been doing internationally.

Every brand has some crap models but look at the good ones, US vs UK. Our only real well-performing cars, if we're honest, are the GT and current Mustang. Maybe the older Taurus SHO. Then it's just a bunch of 'alright' cars that look cool... Falcon, Cougar, Thunderbird, Crown Vic, Probe(?) (am I missing anything? The topic at hand isn't on the mind right now, sorry). Meanwhile we're missing out on the entire lineup of RSs, which were all iconic. The Puma made for some cool little race cars. Then of course there's the Australian Falcon line.

Just remember, I'm not trying to dog Ford in any way. The point was simply that I wish they'd have offered their more sporting overseas models in the US. S'all I'm saying.

What a machine! The cars he puts to shame are extraordinary

Ford really shined back in the '60s and '70s. Everything else is blah. Some '80s models like the trucks and modded Mustangs look pretty decent though.

Meanwhile for approximately 25 cents you can build a 500hp 4.6 DOHC that'll idle perfectly and be amazing on the street.

Haha and you're right about that. Problem is is that he already has a knife installed on his truck lol.

I prefer the Boss 302, this one in particular.
