When you accelerate from standing still and with full revs, why wont it spin its wheels. Does anyone have a Ford Mark iv? does your car do that?

Its because all the power is in the high rpm range. Now that we have true fully customizable transmissions turn the final gear ratio more to the 3.800 range. If I remember correctly this car is set up with 4.100. Keep turning it down until you find the right amount of accelleration you want

ok thanks for the tip! but if you set everything defult and just turn the top speed to maxium, will that spin its wheels? I try it and it doesnt

Top speed is just that. It will be slower of the line and faster at the top end of acceleration. You can use default setings and then tune the trans down for better bottom end acceleration. That will get those tires spinning for you ;)

Do the opposite, I had my Mark IV top speed set at around160 for the Cote de Azure race, and at a stand still (MT/no TC), I can send the tires into SMOKE.

I even drag race it and it spins through 2nd gear..

alright, i guess this car is a bit drifferent to the other cars like the corvette Zr1 that thing can spin its wheel even the transmission is tune to the highest top speed

The Corvette and the GT40 are two different cars with two different powerbands. Just turn down the final gear ratio to give you more off the line accelleration and turn i. The other way to give you more top speed. Trust me this works, thays hoe i tuned my GT40

It just felt so strange. why is the accel so slow it felt like im driving a VW bus. is like there is TC holding my back. and the revs drops down to about 2500rpm soon as a release the break.

Sorry didn't mean to be pushy. But thats just a general tuning tip for accelleration. You can apply that to any car with the customizable transmission.

Because thats how it actually was back in 1967. 4 speed transmissions geared to go ~235 MPH down mulsanne act like that off the line.

Back then the transmissions were the weakest link on race cars; now couple that with a 24 hour race. Thats why they used a 4 speed tranny on the MK IV, you could stay in a gear for a long time and cut down on how much the trans was subjected to gear shifts.

Like the Chaparral 2D, a 2 speed... really slow acceleration, but once you get going it's all good 👍

I cant get it up to 235MPH down the mulsanne

the mark isnt meant to drag anything, its a classic race car its not hightech like the others....its really a raw car to drive.

Coolio! I saw a yellow one on Wikipedia... thought it looked great. Nice to know I can repaint the Mark IV. It'll make it worth paying ALL my credits for it...

I'm pretty sure you CAN'T repaint a Mark IV.

The MkIV in game is the specific one that win Le Mans in 1967 with Dan Gurney & A.J. Foyt.

Repaint?...no thanks, I could not see that amazing classic car in chrome paints. :yuck:
