Yeah, I figured the F-150 can't be as light as the Ranger. The ranger being as big as it is, the past models had to be much lighter as small as it was. But then, it's purpose was to be faster and handle better than the 454 SS. Still, would be interesting to know how much lighterbit is versus the original Lightning.
According to this, the minimum base curb weight for a 4x2 single cab F-150 is 4,050lbs. That's pretty damn light for a truck.

Here's the original
http://fordlightning.com/statistics.htm

4670lbs.

Starting at that 4,050lbs, the new one will probably have 20/21" wheels, Sat nav stuff, 1000w stereo, leather and alcantara, maybe aluminum bonnet, aluminum tonneau cover, big brakes, at least one carbon part somewhere and most likely a 4-door like the Harley Davidson SE. I don't know but, if Ford can keep it under 4,670lbs, corner @.9g and up the power to close to 450+, it'll be bonkers.

This clip sold me dreams for how loud I thought the RS was.

Video footage of the 2016 Focus RS on the ring

Loving that sound, harmonies of the Escort RS Cosworth spring to mind. Hope it doesn't get toned down too much for production.

Well, this is sort of Ford Performance related. ThatDudeinBlue went to a Ford event in Carlisle and got a close look at the Ford Shelby GT350R & Ford Focus RS.

I like how the STi has had 300 horses for 37 years now and it finally has some healthy competition. Get your crap together, Subaru.

I think it's mainly been down to that 276HP agreement Japan has had since '89 which isn't a thing anymore. Hopefully the next STI can have over 350HP.

So it's 310 hp without overboost and 345 with said function? I'm a bit confused... Still, good numbers, now we have to wait and see how well it goes around a track (and on a B-road).

It's making 345hp. The torque can be increased with the overboost.

So that one needs correcting, I reckon...

OH, I think I know where I went wrong. I often just skim through these articles as I just get impatient and well; the only hp figure I saw was at the bottom. 345hp actually sounds right. Though, you didn't need to quote me on that, I would've just come back to the thread to read what Audiman said.

It's ok, I wasn't quoting you to call you here, I was quoting you to show what you had written by mistake. That's all.

The Holden/HSV Insignia weighs in at 1836kg!
A quick check of the specs reveals why one of the most powerful vehicles under $55K isn’t the firecracker you’d expect it to be – the official kerb weight is 1836kg – some 200kg more than its less-powerful rivals, the Subaru Liberty 3.6R and Volkswagen CC FSI AWD.

I am hoping the Mazda3 MPS( oops, did I say that out loud? ) will weigh less than or equal to a WRX. The 1250kg range for these cars back in the 90s are long gone.

That's mid-spec Mustang GT money - which makes me wonder how much more Ford is packing in there for the same price.

It looks like the Focus RS in the UK will cost about the same as the similarly powered Ecoboost Mustang. It will be interesting to see which one people go for and if sales for one are effected by sales of the other.

People will buy a hatch if that's what they want. some will buy a traditional coupe if that's what they want. I think it comes down to new buyers. Maybe the Impreza?Evo crowd that want something that will remain in the lineup for a few more years.
