Ok, so it may be a tad early, but it will come round soon enough. The GP of Hungary is on it's way ladies and gentlemen.

Who are our predicted podium standers?
Which team do you tip to do well.
Will there be any outsiders in the points?

I didn't expect Alonso to win Europe GP, not at all. So it's hard to say. But if nothing unexpected happens (hopefully the airguns are gonna be tighten up properly this time), i guess it's another Ferrari-McLaren battle.

I think Ferrari is gonna do a bit better though as they did since Silverstone.

I'm off to create a 2008 Canadian GP thread....

The week of the race is early enough to create a thread about it. We don't need one the week before.

*bump* I think now is a good time to begin discussion.

What is there to discuss at?All the hype now is about McLaren and Ferrari. So its just nothing now.....but heres something:
from Formula 1

Berger to drive historic McLaren in Hungary

Toro Rosso co-owner and former Grand Prix star Gerhard Berger will return to the cockpit of a Formula One car next week when he drives an historic McLaren as part of Red Bull’s Hungarian Grand Prix build-up.

The company is staging a ‘Bulls versus Lions’ spectacular near Budapest's famous chain bridge, which is decorated with the aforementioned lions. The bulls will be represented by Berger, Toro Rosso driver Vitantonio Liuzzi, Red Bull’s Mark Webber and other sports stars and their vehicles, including this year's Dakar Rally motorcycle winner, Cyril Despres.

Last year's event brought the city to a standstill and an even bigger crowd is expected next Thursday to watch the various motorsport stars put on a show around the Roosevelt Square. For Berger and other drivers of his generation, the highlight of a day at the Hungaroring would often be the drive to and from the race track, especially the famous (but illegal) ‘racing line’ across Heroes Square. This time, he can expect the local police to turn a blind eye for once.

The McLaren Berger will be driving is not a model that he is familiar with, as the MP4C was actually raced by his fellow countryman, Niki Lauda and John Watson back in 1983 - Berger’s stint at McLaren spanned from 1990 to ’92.

Adding to the spectacle will be two aerobatic pilots from the Red Bull Air Race squad performing overhead. The event starts at 1100 hours local time, but roads in the area will be closed off from 0930, so spectators are advised to arrive early.

That should be interesting. I wonder if there will be any TV coverage of it, instead of James 'I'm annoying' Allen? It depends on how long before the actual race it takes place, I suppose.

Depends if he is on the loo when the US decides to nuke Hungary or not........

Alonso win again imo, with Ralf to get the hump for crashing at the 3rd corner after dropping his Cornetto.

My early predictions.

Quali:
1. Alonso
2. Hamilton
3. Massa

Race:
1. Raikkonen
2. Alonso
3. Hamilton

My predictions:

(and these are just wild guesses)

Qual:
1. Alonso
2. Massa
3. Hamilton
4. Raikkonen

Race:
1. Alonso
2. Raikkonen
3. Hamilton

I'll bet on Raikkonen and/or Massa qualifying ahead of the McMercs, but at least one of the two falling behind. Something like:

Qualifying:
  1. Raikkonen
  2. Alonso
  3. Massa
  4. Hamilton

Race:
  1. Raikkonen
  2. Alonso
  3. Hamilton

And with the hope of Sato scoring, as usual.

Dunno though. It'll clear up after practice tomorrow...

Friday Practice 1 results:

Sorry if it was messy.... :nervous:
No worries, it's easy to fix:

The nice thing about the "CODE" function is that it allows you to put in tabs and as many spaces in a row as you like. Because it automatically uses a Courier font for everything in between the CODE tags, you can copy and paste it into a text document and view it using the same font so that you can adjust the margins accordingly, then simply copy and paste it back into GTP's post editing window. 👍

...and thanks for the info. 👍

I have not yet had the chance to watch the coverage on SPEED yet, anything in particular you think I should be sure to check out?

Oh i see, thanks for the advice Digital-Nitrate.Can't seem to be good at this text formatting thing (like the forum and html code was so totally different) But anyways,i don't think i'll get to watch qualifying since i have something going on that evening (and i think i don't get to watch the rece either :indiff: )

It's seems Alonso is back for good, which is great for the championship. But I'm still in the hope that Massa can fight for the title.

Well I am looking forward to the race on Sunday and will hopefully wake up tomorrow for Qualifying. (Maybe I should set the DVD recorder to record it in case I do not wake up. 💡)

Who have ITV replaced Martin Brundle with? James Allen combined with the Borinator™, who sounds like Alan Partridge in The Day Today ("I dunno what that does"), is sending me to sleep.

*Edit* IT may be Damon Hill, but Brundle is stilll more exciting.

Its Damon Hill.

And Massa :dopey:

Something ado with Massa's Ferazza...
Seriously.. 14th place:scared:
And it's Damon Hill ex-Williams F1 world Champion. James Allen really irritates me for sooooo many reasons.

Anyway, result? Hamilton in pole (maybe Alonso..both look strong) Raikonnen third and good positions for Trulli, Heidfeld and Rosberg.
