I'm in to wet races, but I'm not sure how I really feel about a wet monza race. Part of the fun is the fact the reach basically the highest top speeds of any track on the calendar. I'm sure some of you are kinda over the spectacle of the performance of F1 cars, but since I'm still a fairly new fan, I don't necessarily need good racing to be entertained. I get mesmerized by the individual cars on their own.

I would find it more funny if it was his decision, more so the reality of it being Ferrari's decision.

It matters little. He had a clear lap and he couldn't make it count. He couldn't get ahead of Hulkenburg or Massa, both of whom had no teammates in front trying to help them out either, so the whining ended up being rather pathetic.

First off Riccardo was there, and Massa got to far ahead for him to make it count. He didn't even get the tow, yeah it sucks he didn't get it, but I do not see how it's pathetic when you actually read the info that was given post qualifying.

Even if Massa beat him in Quali I still have little hope that he'll beat Fernando tomorrow.

First off Riccardo was there, and Massa got to far ahead for him to make it count. He didn't even get the tow, yeah it sucks he didn't get it, but I do not see how it's pathetic when you actually read the info that was given post qualifying.

It was Webber in front of Massa.

The point was that everyone else wasn't depending on their teammate to make things easy for them, instead they went out and found a car to draft for themselves, or just did a lap on their own like Vettel. Maybe Ferrari screwed up, but Alonso shouldn't have depending on and counting on the tow from Massa as much as he was and his whiny reactions after the fact were childish.

I must confess that I have lost a bit of interest in this years driver's championship. It's obvious that the Red Bull in the hands of Vettel is just too good for there to be any discussion about who will be champion. The only way for him not to win his fourth straight championship would be an injury or serious reliability problems with the car. The first is not something I wish for and the latter seems very unlikely given their track record in the last years. If nothing goes spectacularly wrong Vettel can calculate with at least a top three finish in every remaining race and that is good enough to prevent anyone else from catching him.

So I'll be playing a round of golf instead this afternoon.

Then instead of getting on with a lap on his own he decided to throw his teddy in the corner and get angry with the team. 👎

I did say it was his fault for letting Massa get ahead, but all I'm saying is Ferrari call the strategy and I think they should have let them both drive their own Quali. It's obvious that Ferrari aren't doing too well as a team and this could have been a much better year for them, I think it's fine for him to be pissed at them yet again. I'm surprised to see people actually defending Ferrari over this.

To me it seemed like he was screaming on the radio about something, whether it was to have Massa slow a bit more (the thing with trying to get a tow is you gotta stay close to your tower right? But that's pretty hard going through the first sector and a half since you get understeer in dirty air. So this whole thing was a dumb plan from the getgo.) or he was just complaining about the plan overall, can't be sure yet.

Unless it was his plan, I really don't feel like it was up to him totally to judge the gap, it's not easy to do without having absolute full cooperation between the two cars with the engineers acting as the crux for success.

It sounded like he was calling them stupid in the context that they shouldn't have tried that strategy again. Since it failed them last year.

According to Italian sources, Alonso either said to his crew over the radio: "You are scemi, you ruined my qualifying," or else used the word 'geni'. Scemi means morons, geni means geniuses, so either he was being harsh or sarcastic. Either way that did not go down well with team president Luca di Montezemolo, watching on the pit wall, who had already rebuked Alonso publicly after the recent Hungarian GP when the Spaniard replied, when asked what he wanted for his birthday, that he wanted a car like the Red Bull.

It's pretty much all over the web, although Alonso is apparently downplaying it, saying he called them geniuses. but his radio message sounded pretty angry to me.

Half of the Italians volunteering their translations of the radio exchange are saying the word was more like a light, "that was dumb," and others are saying he called them flat out "stupid."

Very much looking forward to another Vettel win and the 4th championship in a row.

I'm looking forward to today since I missed Spa two weeks ago. It's been an extra long mid season break for me! Monza's a terrific track where cars can reach terrific speeds. It's going to be great to watch and I can't wait to see what Raikkonen and Hamilton can pull off from 11th & 12th.

At least this isn't the Schumacher years with bulletproof tires and TC. Cars actually pass eachother now.

Isn't that exactly what we don't want, let alone have experience in watching? We don't want championships decided in Monaco, we want them decided at the last GP of the season.
