Well, I make that three of the luckiest escapes I've ever seen in the space of one motorsport year.
Which are the other two may I ask?

Thats not a spear shaped bit of carbon fibre though.

I would say that's the single most shocking crash I've seen in about 300 Formula 1 races I've watched live

Drive to Survive has just got its marketing shot.

4th Red Flag of the season, the most since the 4 in 2016 (Melbourne, Spa, Brazil, Brazil)

Lewis no with an easier win with Max starting from dirty side, I presume standing restart.

I’m not answering for him but Ryan Newman’s Daytona 500 wreck in February is probably one.
The sports car race at Spa before the F1 race may be the other....?

Edit: Treed

Just got a notification that the post-race show starts in 30 minutes. Bit optimistic if you ask me

Apologies, Stroll wasnt at fault at all.

I wonder (and so does he) why Gasly is P9 and not P7 on the restart.

The way the fence split between the driver suggests that the Halo really saves his life.

Looks like the track officials have decided to run with the concrete blocks there. Not really a fan of that if I'm honest.

A bit bizarre for Croft to comment about salary caps for F1 drivers after this crash to be honest. I'm sure drivers will use this (and arguably have already...) to preempt the discussion but ultimately any cap would still see any driver earn far, far more than any driver that's ever died in F1, barring potentially Ayrton Senna.

The F2 crash at Sochi was similar when both drivers went under the tecpro, but that's a lot softer and less sharp than Armco.

As someone said before, in the 70's, going through Armco is what cut Cevert in half and decapitated Koenigg.

Now back to our regular scheduled episode of "Watch Lewis Hamilton leave the field in the dust while Bottas slowly falls down the running order".

I'm so confused as to what the order is now

WOW Stroll missed that one during the restart. Also he seems to be ok.

And now Stroll is “just hanging upside down”. At least he’s pretty calm.

Kvyat is ****ing cursed.
