Both were sparking massively. Had a little thought about it after one scene with PIA attacking ANT but forgot about it and when the DQ came I first thought it was fuel related with the snailing by NOR in the last laps.

[edit] L39, with low fuel still sparking this much:

He didn't get a podium. He got p3 after the race.
They could have probably taken George's trophy and did photos if they wanted but probably already left circuit.

Here is his virtual one. In a way, he will probably be more elated with this one than normal considering where he started and kind of mugging Charles at the end.

This part was the best.

I actually swear to god if Max wins the championship I will be so depressed. Don’t even hate the guy but ive been a Mclaren fan for so long

If Horner joins Aston, will Newey stay? The big question to me.
Newey has an ownership stake in Aston Martin so I don't think he's going anywhere. Horner has been said to be looking for a stake on his own in a F1 team (likely jealous of Toto's Merc billions ).

As a Brit, a bit part McLaren fan and Piastri fan, I honestly would not be mad if Max won this championship. It would stand alone as the greatest championship comeback of all time, against a dominant car and with no team mate.

Red Bull is now the dominant car for a number of races now, it is largely down to if they mess up setup or not if they are not. Max may try and pretend he is driving a Flintmobile, like last year's car which they started the season aiming to win all races but ended it trying to make sound like the worst car ever made and even that won the penultimate race Qatar that year.

Max's fastest lap on last lap this race was faster than any practice time this year or previous years, comfortably faster than anyone else.

It is quite worrying for McLaren as they have unnecessarily given invitation to Max to clinch the title. It is now in normal realms of possibility, they might need others to help them out.

Mercedes PUs have been more suspect this year and they degrade more than Honda ones as is so not great from performance point of view too. They have put more pressure on reliability and team by gambling with setup. Imagine if they have failure next race and grid penalty for final one. Even if they nail performance, they could be in situation where it is not enough. They have two drivers in it, maybe Oscar will luck his way to title if the other two end up battling hard.

Unless we are counting yesterday as a bad omen, even if Max wins out, he'd still need Norris to not average better than 4th to win the title.

Fourth wouldn't be enough for Lando. Say for example Lando next results are (1, 4, 4) and Max (3, 1, 1), Max will win the championship. People make it sound easy to achieve podium results but it is now seven races ago Oscar achieved such a feat in the McLaren. Max has had much better race pace than Oscar for the last seven races too which so happens to be when they brought an upgrade, almost looks like in a different category the speed advantage. Red Bull might be bringing more performance to the car too.

If McLaren need to raise the car to be safe, others like Mercedes and Ferrari could affect them more. Yuki also got fresh power unit and he seems more comfortable with more downforce too so he could play a part if Red Bull also give him all the upgrades. Lando will have to go out there and win the next weekend to take pressure off by winning early or hope Red Bull mess up or others take points off Max. McLaren are very strong in terms of cooling which could help them.

I think reliability is a big risk at end of season with not just mileage on PU but also all the other components and next circuit is quite an aggressive one hence Pirelli limiting amount of laps that can be done with tyres. They could easily fall foul of plank wear there too. It doesn't take a lot to go wrong to lose the championship now, you can see this race how crazy first corner can be on first lap, Lando came close to being hit by Max and Oscar did get hit by Liam. It can affect speed of car too even if you can continue, Lewis has been hit by a Williams last two races and both times he noticed a drop off in performance after that even though stewards say his car was "unaffected by the incident." Interesting how they decide things as Carlos got away with no penalty apart from damage to front wing in Brazil.
