Good thing the track has so much grip at 10 pm at night in this warm desert air.

And apparently Sainz's car is starting to overheat, which is amazing given how there's been constant talk about how cold this weekend is.

Still, not a great weekend for Carlos.

When Sainz had a grid penalty that was so severe for literally driving around the track and Max simply gets a 5 second for that. He'd have just been better to give it back and then overtake him again.

Nice, Charels back in the lead, but boo... slow stop for Piastri.

edit: Oscar contact with Lewis? I see.

Max doesn't even care about the penalty, it's a joke

When it's a stop/go penalty, yes, not on a simple time penalty.
They should bring it in for time penalties since stop/go are no longer given out.
This will also stop drivers like russell from passing off track during sprint and then not being effected by the penalty given to them.
As Russell even said more should be done.

Perez just gaining time on Leclerc and since he has pitted he is defacto leader.

Max is the biggest loser when it comes to the pitstop
4.5s behind Leclerc and if we were to remove 5s due to the penalty, Max would've been .5s ahead, so still in DRS range and on older tires, but warmer.

Standard minimum penalty should be a pit-lane pass through within 3 laps. They'll all think twice before being silly on track then.

5s penalty has it's place, but forcing another driver off the track/overtaking off the track should be a drive thru or stop/go.
