I think Russell locked up into the hairpin. There's a big patch on his front tire.

Edit* Damn, Oscar.

Piastri knocked into Albon. Well, there goes whatever strategy they had.

Can we just get a full season of these two battling, please?

I'm really impressed at how long cars can follow each other compared to previous years without degradation, especially with such excellent racing. Long may this continue!

Kimi immediately pulling a gap. He’s incredible.

The engine regs may be problematic, but I think they really nailed the aero/chassis regs

Lando is going to be kicking himself for a week if he sees these 2 take each other out & wondering "what if, man...."

Russell cooked it

Merc. mechanical failure, almost unheard of anymore. Unless George did it, Merc. gonna be a little on edge.

Wow, that changes the WDC landscape a bit. 😮

Going off and bottoming out most likely did it

It failed before the corner, you could hear he was unable to downshift

Just saw replay, I want to see the engine taken apart.
It sounded bad

I think the cars look great, shape wise, for the first time in a long time too. As for the racing... well this lead might be wrapped up after that. A great battle at the front comes to a premature end.

'Nother Merc.-powered unit failure. 🫤

Meh. Very frustrating race.

Bad day for Mercedes pwoeruntis

That sounded like an exploding gearbox
