Russel already 5 seconds ahead of Sainz. He's a good driver but this car is just phenomenal.

Bottas fell back 0.5

Happiness with the next set of tyres will be crucial

It should've been easier for Bottas.
ERS+Slipstream.

Either Bottas is holding back or is just not the best.

he keeps locking up under no pressure I wish they would swap VB for GR sooner the better GR vs LH would be a spicy meatball indeed...

Once locked, more prone to locks, advantage Russell.

So what is this gonna tell us?

A). the Mercedes is so good that it takes just 3 days of prep and you can lead a race

B). George is a phenomenal talent

C). Bottas is trash

d). All of the above

This track has no DRS zones?

Edit: Never mind, found it!

I really need nothing to happen from now on and for this race to be as Bahrain as possible.

I do not understand how Albon is so much slower than Verstappen over a 58 second track...

Russel still not use to clutch leavers, didnt he also not know where the overtake button is?

So C, then B, then A.

A and B. Bottas would destroy any team mate in a midfield team, he just perhaps doesn't have what it takes for the final step in a top team.

A) yep
B) he's better than Bottas for sure
C) wouldn't go this far, but he is not im the level of a Sainz or Ricciardo

Honda engine is not as good as Renault on straights.

Renault does do very well on Monza

It feels very strange watching a race without Hamilton.

On-board audio sync is awful again.

Great little pack for 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th.

...with the two Mercedes 10 seconds clear of them. I know it's a short lap but still...

Another meme-able quote from Albon, 'We're faster, just not raceable'

Only because Leclerc took the two drivers who might have filled the Bottas-Sainz gap out on lap 1.

What makes you think VB would destroy anybody lol his race craft is sub par, he has decent pace but that's about it.

True. It only serves to blatantly show the gap between Formula 1 and Formula 1.5.

Fittipaldi sounds familiar, his father was in F1 in the 90s wasnt he

Hats off to Russell for the 1st stint, lets hope his tyres are satisfactory for the 2nd stint.

Tyres are fine, GR mind games again. ;)
